Hormonal hunger came back.

I’m on week 3 of microdosing saxenda at 0.9mg daily.
I have PCOS and struggle with binge eating before my period. Every single month. Lots of cravings for junk.

I ate pizza and cookie dough yesterday as my appetite wasn’t as suppressed and I was really craving it.

Positives are I stil felt in control, I ate half of what I normally would have and it wasn’t a binge.
Normally I would be eating this way the entire day.

Does anyone have experience of this not working well with hormonal hunger?

Sagging skin three weeks into microdosing. Only lost 4 pounds but my skin elasticity has dramatically reduced.

What going on? I have 10 kilos max to lose and want to go slow and steady on daily Saxenda jabs. Also reduce severe side effects so I’m currently on 1mg daily after 3 weeks.

I’ve been strength training for 1 year prior to this. In only a few days my skin has lost electricity and I’ve been eating 3 meals a day and high protein so haven’t dropped calories drastically.

What snack or meal to eat before workout and timings.

Hi. 20 days into the Glp1 journey and was lifting weights/ strength training for a year before this.

Anyhow my strength/ workouts are really suffering and I’m wondering if the fuel isn’t reaching my body an hour before the workout due to slower digestion with the jabs.

Can you give me some suggestions of what you eat pre workout and the timings.

I take ages to recover and very fatigued that lingers for days after.

Regular gym goer now struggling with strength training.

Hi. I’ve been strength training for a year before I started the glp1 3 weeks ago. My strength has gone down significantly and I’m thinking I need to make changes to my programme which was a 4 day split.

Anyone done this? It really helped my mental health and going forward I need to keep the activity going but unsure how.

Strength trained for one year before starting a GLP1 20 days ago

I do not have the strength I did. I feel sick during every workout. I’m on a beginner dose and don’t really have side effects. I’m eating a moderate amount, good macros but training at the gym is getting tougher.
I’ve lost maybe 2 kilos only. Really don’t want to lose muscle mass so I’m going slow and steady with the weight loss as I as hoping to maintain strength whilst on the jab.

Has anyone got experience of this happening?

Food noise is just the brain trying to restore body weight to its set point? Oprah Winfrey’s book Enough

I’ve been reading quite a bit about “food noise” recently, especially since starting a GLP-1, and I’m trying to understand what’s actually going on biologically.
I came across this review paper:
https://www.mdpi.com/2072-6643/15/22/4809
The authors suggest that food noise isn’t just physical hunger. They describe it as persistent thoughts about food, urges to eat, attention constantly being drawn to food, reward pathways, habits, memories and environmental cues all interacting together. It’s a conceptual paper rather than a clinical trial, but I found it really interesting.
At the same time, Oprah Winfrey and others have spoken about obesity as being largely biological, with the body defending a “set point.” The idea is that when we lose weight, our biology pushes back by increasing hunger, making food more rewarding and encouraging us to regain weight.
So I’m wondering whether these ideas are actually saying the same thing.
Is food noise simply the mental experience of the body trying to defend its set point?
Or do you think food noise is something separate from set-point biology?
One thing I’ve noticed personally is that I can now distinguish between genuine hunger and what I call food noise.
For me, genuine hunger builds gradually and feels physical. Food noise is different—it can appear suddenly, be persistent for over an hour, and feels more like my brain repeatedly telling me to eat than my stomach actually being hungry.
Since starting a GLP-1, I’ve found that those persistent thoughts often quieten down, even though I can still experience normal physical hunger. That makes me wonder whether these medications are affecting more than just appetite—they may also be changing the brain’s reward and attention systems.
I’m genuinely interested in what others think.
• Have you noticed a difference between hunger and food noise?
• Do you think food noise is simply how set-point biology feels subjectively?
• Or do you think they’re describing two different things?
I’d love to hear people’s experiences as well as any science you’ve come across.

What to do when food noise returns?

I’ve noticed something interesting since being on a low dose of my GLP-1.
For the first several days, the food noise was really quiet, but now it’s started creeping back. The thing is, I can distinguish it much more clearly now from actual hunger.
Real hunger comes on gradually and feels like my body genuinely needs food. Food noise, on the other hand, is just this persistent mental chatter about eating that can go on for well over an hour, even when I’m not physically hungry.
Has anyone else experienced this while still on a GLP-1? If so, what do you do when the food noise is still there? Do you just ride it out, distract yourself, change your dose eventually, or have you found any strategies that help?
I’d be really interested to hear other people’s experiences.

Is your food noise actually hunger?

For me, it often isn’t. It’s more like my brain constantly searching for a dopamine hit or reward. Even after eating a satisfying meal, I can still find myself thinking about food. It feels less like physical hunger and more like mental chatter, impulsiveness, and the urge to eat for comfort, stimulation, or habit.
I’m curious how others experience it. Does this sound familiar, or is your food noise more driven by physical hunger?

The glp1 I’m taking is really helping me resist the urge as it’s not as intense anymore. I’m baffled!

Better endurance with workouts 13 days after starting GLP1

I’m on a GLP1. Liraglutide at 0.6mg daily.
40F with 10 kilos to lose with PCOS

I’ve noticed I have much more endurance after my workouts now.

I’ve been a regular gym goer for a year but despite eating less my stamina and energy has increased.

Anyone else?
I do think it’s something to do with insulin resistance and my body using the food I’ve eaten better.

30 years of food noise gone , 2 days after half dosing.

What exactly causes food noise if it’s not hunger? Please share your experiences as I need to understand what the physiological element of this is.

I am microdosing liraglutude at 0.3 mg daily and the urge and constant need to eat sugar and junk has just vanished from my mind.

It was a daily push pull of trying not to eat junk even though I ate high protein, moderate fat, plenty of water. It ruled my daily life for years and years.

My aim is to lose 10 kilos and it’s been a life long struggle to not give into snacking which I alway did. Read multiple books about emotional eating and binge eating, ate snacks I didn’t even like and just tried hourly and daily not to give in or even eat a very small amount which never worked.

I have PCOS and feel so sad that I can see the absolute difference in food noise calming right down and this will lead to weight loss and more calmer eating but knowing the day will come when I need to some these jabs and the noise and urges will come back.

What is food noise???? What causes it. Why do some people get it and others just sail through life and eat intuitively?

Starting Liraglutide( Nevolat/ saxenda tomorrow.

Would like some advice on micro dosing and starting very slow. Less than half the first dose of 0.6ml if anyone has experience. Thanks.
