Favorite lines where delivery mattered

I think one of the funniest nonsensical quotes I saw someone reference here was under a separate post, dedicated to underrated quotes:

"She's in there" (shoutout to the user who made me lol because literally, only Betty could made 3 words memorable)

The one that made me laugh for the 700th time today:

"And that painter..was Pablo Picasso"

and

"You bet, whatever I find, I loved that vase"

Selling Starry under Sprite?

I have posted in this sub zero times which is how desperate I am to confirm I'm not going insane lol.

It's such a dumb thing, but I genuinely cannot stand the taste of Starry. The first time my BK Sprite tasted off was months ago. I can't say I have Burger King too often - but I drink Sprite often enough to know when something isn't Sprite. It tastes like Starry.

I wrote the first time off as it wasn't worth a second thought, but now my 2nd time ordering Sprite does NOT taste like SPRITE 😭

Is this just some off flavor with Burger King specifically? Has anyone experienced this? Or is the online menu just not updated to reflect Starry instead of Sprite?

Mortified that I've wasted time writing about such a nonissue but the damage is done.

Parents who force their kids fishing

Niche and applies in certain circumstances where you wonder why they're doing this at all. Selected the lowest possible flair as I truly empathize with parents who just want to go out and do something they enjoy for the day and have no other option for childcare — but god damn. They're crying, they're miserable, it's hot. Now we're all miserable.

I've watched a toddler of stroller age crying endlessly because her parents were participating in the local fishing Derby. I've watched a boy start tipping boulders over into the water as a tantrum because he wanted to go home. I've seen a kid screaming where he was threatened being taken home if he doesn't stop...my friend, don't threaten him with a good time.

Maybe some parents here can explain the logic behind this because my empathy bucket is nearing depletion.

Scut or the tornado warned storm?

I'm in west PA and we do get tornado watches/warnings, and we did get about 6 tornados a week or so ago — but compared to the Midwest, they're always mild tornados (if they form at all). Central PA tends to get much worse weather more frequently.

I took this pic 5 minutes before receiving the tornado warning, it was too far away to see any rotation, but it was still cool to watch roll in.

*Edit: meant Scud, can't fix my typo 🥲

Builds housing on a pre-existing lake, names the neighborhood after it, schedules a (2nd) mass execution of lake wildlife

I don't have words as I'm too disgusted by it. Public shaming needs to hit hard on this one.

Is UE the same as DD when it comes to bundling low/no tip orders with high tip orders?

I know it's not the drivers' control, I never really have any issues or delays with delivery in my area to ever need priority delivery since we aren't a major town/city — but I just watched this man get sent 30 minutes away from my house in a bundled order. I was 2 miles away and tipped $7.

Live update in the middle of writing this: he just came back from the highway, passed my street again, and is going back in the opposite direction of my house for someone else. WHAT is the UE LOGIC here?

It's wishful ranting and it'll never happen, but the inability to cancel no matter how long the order is taking is insane. This is a 1 hour saga from a store 9 minutes away. At least make it cancellable after a certain amount of time.

When expressing empathy gets you accused of being in the same position of the person you're empathizing with

I need emphasize that this really is an online thing on all platforms, I don't think I can say I've ever had an exchange like this in real life — likely because people already know you.

For the sake of my point, I come from a bad childhood/family and became very successful as an adult. That's as detailed as I'll get.

BUT...the amount of times I have been told I'll go nowhere in life, always live in my parents basement, always be broke, etc. when engaging in a normal discussion about social or economical issues is unhinged. 0-100. No middle ground.

You can absolutely tell who is simply trolling, but many will double down entirely if you waste your time responding. The consensus seems to be that you can't be empathetic and successful at the same time.

I don't have the energy for it anymore, my go to response (if at all) is usually "okie dokie" because it's just not a good use of time to list every detail of my life for an online stranger when having these human level conversations.

I have no idea why empathy deficit is this dire, at minimum it's a combined issue with critical thinking (lack of).

When people on Reddit mock you for censoring profanity when there are subs that will auto-remove you when using profanity 🫩

I'm fresh off the boat after having one lengthy/detailed comment of mine be immediately removed by a sub bot for using the word fuck ONCE, so pardon my dramatic reaction here.

It's not in the sub rules. It's not a Reddit rule. There was literally no indication that you could not swear in this sub. Even if there was, the logistics of reading every rule on every sub before commenting to ensure you're entitled to profanity is a huge nonsensical waste of time.

If it is a sub where the target audience was aimed at minors (13+), absolutely. This wasn't it.

IMO it is not worth the effort of typing out a comment and using profanity just for the possibility of the comment to be removed & having to repeat everything you just said.

I have no idea why the consensus is that Reddit is a free for all. It is, technically — and because of that any sub can censor anything they'd like whether it's written down or not.

Will be going back to utilizing f*ck 🫠

WHEN?

This has been such a game changer for me, I am not sure when this was added though. I think the last time I got an iced latte here was maybe a month ago.

I typically skip iced anything here as I'm a cold foam junkie and their marshmallow cold foam was always really... weird. At least at my store. It was always very thin and would melt insanely fast. I have no idea if this was a universal experience or just my specific Sheetz. This foam was THIQUÉ.

I'll be dead & gone by the time they decide to add whole milk to the menu but I'll take this in the meantime.

This is just fresh on my mind after a nightmare of a commute today.

You're stuck behind truck (or slow driver) in the right lane, you put your turn signal on to move over to the left lane to pass, you wait for an opening in order move over, and then once it does...the people directly behind you in the right lane steal your lane change attempts 😩

Shoutout to the one driver who was behind me & moved over, but kept their speed to allow me to finally move over in front of them. The heroes of the road.
