Is Vande Bharat Price Efficient or Are Our Bars So Low?

My previous post about Vande Bharat being a basic service which should have been in place a decade ago was removed by the mods. I don't understand why. A healthy discussion was taking place in the comments but the post was removed. So posting again with more details and arguments from my side.

My argument: Vande Bharat, even though a huge jump for our railway infrastructure and progress in the right direction, is not an absolute world-class leap in development/infrastructure. Also Cleanliness shouldn't be a premium feature to boast about, it should be a base AF requirement.

I travel in Vande Bharat frequently, and from time to time get allotted the last row seats which are cramped with no pushback and less cooling because it is near to the door. So basically the row itself compromises all the premium claims Vande Bharat has.

The standard executive trains globally (even in middle-income nations like Uzbekistan) follow a 2+2 layout. Whereas Vande Bharat squeezes maximum seats in a 3+2 configuration, which feels like a cramped economy airline. But still better than IndiGo 😅.

The speed of the Uzbek train (according to the internet) is 210–250 km/h, whereas Vande Bharat is 130 km/h maximum.

You don't even get proper coffee in Vande Bharat. I love the instant masala chai provided, I am just stating the lack of beverages.

Lack of civic sense is a massive roadblock to our development, I agree. But who should tackle it? Our elected representatives should tackle it. It's not a reason to provide base AF facilities and call it modern infrastructure.

EU rail has the best infra and service but the prices are sky high, I agree, but their earning power and currency value are also high, unlike the rupee. Their earnings will also be high.

So even if you compare the service of an Uzbek train and Vande Bharat, the price-to-service/infra ratio shows that Vande Bharat is overpriced even though the rates of tickets are less.

So my whole point was our bars are so low. I feel sad about us as citizens. Thank you.

Planning to visit Mount Abu on the coming weekend with my wife. We are on a tight budget this month, so we were exploring budget friendly activities and stay.

Hotel Shikhar (RTDC) hotel looks good. But I cannot find pictures of their AC rooms. Does anyone know about the quality of non ac and ac rooms there? Any other budget friendly options? I am not looking for just hotel rooms, but atleast a little green.

Can you recommend any budget friendly activities in Mount Abu? Thank you.
