What is Vicki actually working on?

I am newer to OC and have not seen Vicki's earlier seasons. I have also been watching UGT with her and it seems she likes to claim she's always working. And she sells insurance? Is that it? Am I missing something?

I used to be licensed in insurance and in my 20's I worked for several insurance agents. Let me tell you... they don't do shit. Truly. They sit around most days doing nothing while paying their assistant minimum wage to do the small amount of work that actually comes up.

Either she's doing something else entirely, pretending to be busy to seem more important, or she is too dumb to properly streamline her agency. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Drooping under chin @ 39 yo

My grandma, mom, and uncle all had the skin under their chin droop as they got older. I have come to accept that I will most likely need surgery to avoid/reverse that. But when? Is there anything I can do, other than surgery to help? How do I figure out if it's fat or loose skin? I have a healthy BMI, if that matters. I just find myself obsessing over this little area and I want it fixed. 😭

Update: Reached out to a plastic surgeon who also offers med spa treatments. Will let you guys know what they say.

Feels like we're living on another planet

These were taken above Chamber's Bay last night. Happy that Spokane is getting some relief, but not loving the smoke and bad air (and weird vibes) it creates.

Concern about engine hours

Looking to buy a boat. Really love this one, but it has 945 hrs on the engine. It does say there is a survey (and we plan to get another done when we buy) and it's been well-maintained, but I'm still concerned. Thoughts?

Also, thank you to those of you who talked me out of a Ranger Tug/Cutwater. I took your advice seriously and went a completely different direction.

Looking into 2016 Cutwater in PNW

We live in the Seattle/Tacoma area and are seriously considering this boat. We live 7 mins from a marina and plan to use it for weekend outings and short trips around the Puget Sound. It seems like a great deal and looks to be in very good shape. We wanted something covered, that we can sleep in, diesel inboard motor, usable for fishing, good field efficiency. It seems to be all of those things.

Is there anything we should know about this type of boat or about being new boat owners? We have looked into the full cost: moorage, annual maintenance, insurance, fuel, etc. So I *think* we have that planned well. But this would be our first boat and we are not familiar with the different types of boats and brands.

Where to buy onigiri?

My 9th grader decided to tell her club that she would be providing onigiri at a function on Tuesday. Maybe it's because I'm from the 1900's, but we used to bring shit like cupcakes and cookies. 🙃

Does anyone know of a store that sells it? I've found some restaurants that sell it, but it's like $8 for 2 pieces. Hoping to find a pack at a deli or something.

I already called Pal-Do and they said they didn't have it.

Edit to add: I realize they are easy to make, but... this was sprung on me last minute. If you have children over the age of 10, I assume you understand how chaotic the end of the schoolyear is. Field trips, parties, track meets, important tests, ceremonies, band concerts, etc. I make dinner most nights, so I am sure I'm capable. My daughter is also capable, but she studying for 3 straight days in an effort to get her math grade up. Snacks for club can't come before her schoolwork. Making them is just not in the cards this week.

Purging without previous acne issues

I started 25 mg of spiro because I was getting unwanted chin hairs (38F). I had acne until my mid 20s and have been mostly acne free since. I have a solid skin routine and don't have many issues. But suddenly my entire chest has broken out. Along with some on my back and face. I am NOT thrilled. I haven't had to deal with this in a loooong time. Any advice on how to clear it faster? I took a break from all my "extra" skincare stuff, like the various acids and creams I usually use. Going basic with double cleansing and just moisturizer. Took a break from tret, but maybe that's a mistake? Ugh. I hate this so much. So much for a hot girl summer. 😭

My 11 yo son and I are attending Neil deGrasse Tyson's show this week and I'm trying to figure out a backup plan if dinner doesn't work out. The Carlile Room has half of their restaurant reserved for an event that night and they can't guarantee room for us, but we plan to try them first. Backup after that would be Dough Zone. Very last option would be Bombo Italian Kitchen, but apparently it's an Ethan Stowell restaurant and the last time I took my kids to one I paid out the ass for really shitty food in a restaurant so cold we had to keep our coats on. I don't even care what it costs as long as it's good. But it was not. (How do you fuck up noodles with oil, cheese, and pepper?? Ask Cortina. They've got it figured out.)

What if everything is full and we run out of time to eat? Does the theater have snacks at least? Is there something else nearby that I'm unaware of? We have limited time due to school that day, an end-of-the-year choir party, and a drive from University Place. 🫠 6:15 is likely the earliest we can get there and the show is at 7:30.

Tldr: Does the theater have snacks? 😅
