Iv not seen shipping manifest post in 2 weeks i think... starting to wonder if the long delay for late summer might not be bc of stock. They wanting to have enough and still have not.. i dunno pure ass-spiculating.

Hey, first playthru in VR here. I am in the castle where the 2 big dude with claws chained to the wall btwn the door chase you. Iv tried many times, i know i need to shoot their back i guess but they always catch up to me.

Tips? I dont have grenades.

OMG man... i admit the lake part so far is my least favorite part of the game. I have zero motion sickness but the chaising clue around was meh but the visual and immersion wow.

Been waiting since late spring, about 8 weeks, for a sale on the Xbox Ally X. Nothing ever came, so I finally bit the bullet and bought one.

If you're curious, in Canada it costs about C$1,700 after taxes in my province. That's a lot of Monopoly money.

Then Murphy's Law struck.

An open-box unit suddenly showed up for C$300 less, so I returned my brand-new one and grabbed the open-box model instead. I've been enjoying it for the past two weeks and figured that was the end of the story.

But then someone posted here this morning that Best Buy Canada had finally put the brand-new Xbox Ally X on sale for C$1,300.

Murphy's Law. Again.

At 6:00 a.m., lying in bed, I stared at my phone thinking, "You've got to be kidding me." A minute later I ordered the new one.

I swapped the original SSD back into my open-box unit, started a Windows cloud reinstall, and went back to sleep.

At 9:00 a.m., I woke up, took the open-box unit back to Best Buy, picked up my brand-new one for only C$60 more (C$1,240 open box vs. C$1,300 new), and headed home.

Now I'm back to square one, reinstalling everything... again.

So, in the span of two weeks, I returned two Xbox Ally X units to Best Buy.

Nice. 😅

Probably won't get it i got a root canal to do on my teeth next week sadly... same price.

Got an xbox ally x open box.

First thing i did was open it and swap ssd to my 4tb. I initially didnt put the heatsheild that was on the og sdd.

Did a cloud recovery and the download disconnected. I did not panic i just put it on a dock with wired connection to my router.

All went well to install everything until i removed it from the dock. Internet kept bugging like example steam would show error page. Xbox app would only show blank page (infinit loading). My internet seems fine on it for general purpose otherwize so i had no clue.

Thought i might had pinch wifi antenna when i put back the shell together ?? I dunno.

Put the original ssd back thinking ill have to return it but ..

Now all works just fine.

Ideas?

I might try again today to put my 4tb sdd in it i dunno. Before replacing the og ssd i thought it might be heat so i placed the heatshied on my 4tb ssd didnt do anything.

So i dunno

I took my last week off in 2025 during the announcement. I was excited when they said "early 2026"... then that abysmal launch happened. It wasn't entirely their fault, but I'm not excusing the lack of communication either.

Now here I am, on vacation again for the first week of August 2026, and we STILL don't have a price or a release date.

I have a 4tb ssd i bought a month bf the rampocalyps. I have a 2tb legion go 2 also and did not filled it up bc i barely use it (too heavy).

Wondering if I should stick with 1tb it come with or install my 4tb... maybe partition for future steamos and win ? idunno

and that opinion you did not ask for is this: seems like we get A LOT of shovelware ready for frame and very few to none 'made or ported' for frame aka - using eye tracking or being vr itself.
