Yeah, about that…

Yeah, about that…

Small context:This is from a project of mine called 9999 which is about a war between two factions: the United Commonwealth of Mankind (UCM) and the Unified Coalition of Free Stars (Freestars)

To fight this war, the UCM created a kind of "Artificial Samsara" with which they can reincarnate their soldiers in cloned bodies. In response, the Freestars decided to dust off the Duplicates (Androids from the time of the Old Imperium which were containers into which the consciousness of humans was put inside)

These were offered to people with physical disabilities or terminal illnesses as a second chance at life although in exchange they would have a debt to the government which they would pay by fighting in the war

How would a Rank System work in a World where “reincarnation” is possible

Little context: I'm working on a Science Fiction project which I nickname "9999" inspired by Emesis Blue, Ersatz, Mickey 17, etc

In this Universe, Humanity created a species of "Artificial Samsara" in which they revive their soldiers in cloned bodies (something like the Respawn Machine theory from TF2)

One problem with this is that the rank system would be complicated since basically soldiers are immortal and over time practically all of them would be officers

I had thought about some ideas like making the ranks based on Meritocracy or respect, something similar to Fallout's SPECIAL system, or having a group of AIs do that job. But none of these convince me at all

Any ideas or advices?

Factions arguing while their Soldiers suffers

Little context: this is from a Sci-Fi project inspired by Ersatz, Mickey 17, Emesis Blue, Signalis and Forver Winter called "9999"

The story revolves around a war between 4 factions, these being the MCU (a Commonwealth of worlds that believe that all planets should be within the AstraNet), the Freestars (a coalition of independent worlds who believe that each world should be independent of each other), the Imperium (a theocracy that worship the Holy Mother, a Goddess Empress who believes she should be the absolute ruler of the Universe) and the Singularity (a faction of Humans who believe that the future of Humanity is to modify their bodies with technology)

Each of these factions have their own soldiers such as the Samsarian Soldiers (the army of the UCM, whose soldiers are "cloned"/"reincarnated" through a machine called Artificial Samsara), the Imperial Legions (the army of the Imperium, who are a Caste of Humanodes created from Genetic Modification and Eugenics solely for war), the Grief Soldiers (the army of the Freestars who are androids with consciousnesses of dead humans who were promised a new life without knowing their cruel fate) and the Combat Automata (the army of the Singularity, Cyborgs created for war whose humanity was literally torn from their bodies)

Respawn Machine Theory

Little context: this is from a project I have inspired by Mickey 17, Ersatz, Emesis Blue and Don't Join Team Red called 999/9999 (I still haven't decided on the name)

The story takes place in a future where Humanity (now unified under the banner of the United Commonwealth of Mankind) is in an era of constant war to such a degree that more soldiers are dying than they can replace. This leads the Ministry of Science and Advances of the UCM to create Machines known as "Samsaras" with which soldiers are "Cloned" every time they die (although it is more similar to Reincarnation since they possess all the memories of their ancestor, including the way in which they died). This leads to victories for the UCM in the war but in turn leads to the dehumanization of its soldiers

What would be the pros and cons of an army in which, every time a soldier dies, he "reincarnates" in a cloned body?

Little context: I'm working on a Sci-Fi Project inspired by Earsartz and Mickey 17 which I nicknamed 999/9999

As a summary, Humanity (now unified under the flag of the United Commonwealth of Mankind) lives in constant conflict to such a degree that the UCM created a machine with which they create exact clones of each of their soldiers whenever they die and these "clones" also possess the personality and memories (including their deaths) of their ancestors (see it something like the Theory of the Respawn Machine from TF2)

This led me to ask what would be the Pros and Cons of an army of Soldiers who can reincarnate and I wanted to know the opinion of someone who knew more about the subject
