What’s going here?

Anyone know what this big ass boat is doing? Has to be beached this close it, has a tug boat on the other side.

Just south of Henley.

Not 'technically' UGC, but Higgsfield 2.5 cooked here! Any tips?

This was feeding in an end image, and got Codex to generate a detailed prompt. Thoughts?

EDIT: Seedance 2.5

The first admin job I automated in my painting business

I ran a small business as a house painter for more than 15 years. I was always interested in tech and development, and taught myself bits and pieces over the years.

These days I do web development and automation full time.

When I was running the painting business, I reckon at least 25% of my time went into admin. Quoting, invoicing, payroll, HR... the list never ended.

One of the first things I built for myself was a replacement for my quoting spreadsheet. The spreadsheet itself was pretty good, but the process around it wasn’t.

I’d go to a potential client’s house and enter all the measurements, rooms, surfaces, paint etc. into a janky app, or write everything down on paper. Then I’d get back on the tools.

At the end of the day, I’d go home, type it all into my spreadsheet, manually create a PDF and email it to the client.

I rebuilt the spreadsheet as a simple web app I could use on my iPad. I could put the quote together while I was still in the client’s home, go through the price with them and send it before I left.

A few times I even closed the job on the spot.

That was when I started noticing how much small-business admin comes down to entering the same information more than once, or putting something off because you need to be back at the computer.

I built quite a few more things like that for my business before eventually leaving painting.

I’m curious how common this is for other small business owners. What’s the job in your business that you know is wasting time, but you keep putting up with because fixing it seems like another job in itself?

If you want, tell me how you currently do it and I’ll give you my honest opinion on what could be improved, automated or left alone.

Jack Riewoldt

Just watching On the Couch, as I occasionally do in the background, plus the other times he’s on the TV.

Is he the full quid?

Weird ideas, backflips as soon as one of the others pushes back, as they should.

He shouldnt host a local footy podcast let alone a decent show format.

Is $600 AUD enough?

How has affiliate worked for your Saas?

Im about to launch my product which would pay nearly $600 affiliate on an annual plan (more if monthly, but well its monthly).

Just wondering if thats good, and if its worked for others?

Open Sourcing my game.

I open-sourced a small iOS maze game I vibe-coded about a year ago because otherwise it’ll just die on my shelf.

The mechanics are deliberately simple, which is part of the problem: it works, but it needs more fun. The mazes were made with a separate Rust generator engine that I wasn’t very happy with, so there’s plenty of room to improve or replace things.

If you like tinkering with SwiftUI games, maze design, game feel, progression, or just want a small project to mess around with, I’d love contributions or ideas.

App or Saas that should be free?

I’m a web/app developer and I’m over apps charging subscriptions for things that barely do anything.

Every week I run into software that wants $10, $20, or $50 a month to solve a problem that should take five minutes and a few hundred lines of code.

Tell me about an app, tool, website, or workflow that annoys you because it’s overpriced, bloated, locked behind a paywall, or just badly built.

If it’s something useful and I think I can build it properly, I’ll make it completely free and open source.

What ideas should I build?

'No umpire intervention needed' 👀 | Razor Ray breaks down the Nick Watson non-goal 🫨 | Razor's Edge

EDIT: The rule states nothing about the man on the mark, it’s about improving their angle. This is for after the siren instances, during normal time, play on should be called.

Everyone who was saying that we didn’t know the rules (to be clear, this clip taught me the rule properly), regarding Nick Watsons not allowed goal last week.

Here’s a great clip of how it absolutely was the wrong call according to the laws of the game, not just in the spirit of the game.

Id prefer to not give Seek my money and invest that into a person I hire instead.

Wehere would be the best place to post looking for someone, from what I understand the market is pretty bad for people in IT, but im finding enough work to potentially put someone on.

I also dont want to break the no job posting rule in here.

TIA

Hey, I’m looking for a junior web developer based in the Philippines to help with client websites and small web app builds.

This is paid remote work, not an unpaid internship. You’d be working directly with me on real client projects for a small Australian web agency.

Most of the work is around React, Next.js, landing pages, website updates, bug fixes, simple components, forms, Supabase, and general frontend tasks. You do not need to be senior. I care more about whether you can communicate clearly, learn fast, follow instructions, and show work you’ve actually built.

We use AI tools heavily, so being comfortable with ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or similar tools is a plus. But I do not want someone who blindly copy-pastes AI code. You need to be able to test, debug, and explain what you are shipping.

This would start as casual part-time work, likely around 10–20 hours per week. Some overlap with Australian working hours is needed, but the schedule can be flexible.

Pay range is around $10–20 USD/hour depending on skill level. I’m open to increasing this if you prove you can work independently and deliver good output.

You should be comfortable with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Git/GitHub, browser dev tools, and basic responsive design. React or Next.js experience is preferred, but not mandatory if your fundamentals are solid.

Apply here: https://www.jarve.com.au/apply/junior-web-developer

No long cover letter needed. I care more about seeing how you think and what you can make.

Shortlisted applicants will do a quick video chat and a small paid trial task.
