I really hope Batman: Brave and the Bold doesn’t happen.

The idea of two simultaneous Batman franchises is stupid and it’s going to confuse people.

”Batman: The Brave and the Bold 2 coming out this December, followed by The Batman: Part 3.” It’s not going to work.

Batman is WB’s Spider-man. Every Batman and even Joker has been a smash hit for them. In the 90s, he was the only superhero franchise.

The ones that underperformed are Batman & Robin, BvS, and Harley Quinn. What do these have in common? They’re in a shared universe amd they’re silly.

If “The Batman” and “The Dark Knight” are too serious for a shared universe, then that means they’re going to ham Batman up. I wouldn’t want to see a Batman movie where Batman is portrayed as any less serious than what we saw in The Batman. I can’t be interested in a movie like that.

I think they should just focus on building up Pattinson‘s Batman universe and keep that as they quintessential cinematic Batman for now. I don’t even care if Robert Pattinson makes a cameo appearance and clay fates or whatever. I would rather have it that way than another Batman, which is just stupid.

In the upcoming Batman: Part II, loosely based on “Batman: Night Cries,” Bruce Wayne uses his detective skills to hone in on pedophilic members of the Court of Owls. Joining Bruce’s investigation is reporter Jimmy Olsen who first appeared in Superman.

DCU is planting small seeds to merge Superman in Reeves’ dark Batman world, starting with Jimmy as an investigative journalist.

I saw Ice Cream Man! It’s bad but it’s fun bad. It’s not unwatchable if you like gore.

So I heard comparisons to Cuties and Weapons.

It is actually in my opinion the most like the movie ”Mom and Dad” starring Nicolas Cage. In that movie, parents were hit with a hypnosis spread via airwaves that made them want to kill their own kids. In this one, it’s kids that want to kill adults.

Both have the same tone and dark humor, except “Mom and Dad” does it a lot better.

it’s not the eating of the ice cream itself that makes them kill - that only prepares them; it’s hearing the sound of the ice cream truck, which is similar to “Mom and Dad” where they had to hear it through the TV or radio.

Both of them have the school setting where kills happen at the school and shots of them hopping over the school fence.

Even the protagonist are an older sister and her little brother, exactly like Mom and Dad.

There’s one line that was just weird to me that what it was written. A 12 year-old girl is forced to eat an ice cream and then she immediately pukes it up. The boys say wow how’d you do that so fast? And she says “I’m a 12-year-old girl of course I know how to vomit.”

I like dark humor and maybe this would be funny if she were like 17 maybe? But I’ve never heard of a cliché of 12-year-old girls having bulimia. I didn’t know that was a thing. I didn’t know it was a thing that 12-year-old girls puked to stay thin. I digress.

So let’s talk about AI. I heard there was AI in the film. When they showed the cartoon on the phone, I thought OK Is this what people are talking about? This doesn’t look that bad; this looks like real animation. Everyone is overreacting, I thought.

But then they get to a later scene, and oh my God is it not only AI but the worst AI ever that has ever made a theatrical movie. Discord bots have generated better AI than this. That is the AI quality here. I’m not sure what they were thinking.

There’s a montage sequence with a bunch of random images that have nothing, I repeat, nothing to do with the actual story. They are so genetically placed here. It’s like if you typed in “show images of a Macabre Cemetery spooky death” into Chatgtp And this would come up. No I take that back, ChatGPT would give you better images.

I can’t even believe that this made a theatrical movie. I can’t believe it. It’s not even *good* AI. You will see what I’m talking about when you get there.

if we can just ignore that terrible terrible sequence.

Also, and the villains backstory is one of the stupidest and poorly written backs stories, and possibly all of horror. And it uses one of the oldest clichés in the book too. And frankly, none of it made any sense. I’m gonna be honest. None of it made any sense whatsoever. I mean, why was the guy even inside of the…never mind.

Year, it’s bad but it’s not like unwatchable. It’s a fun time if you like gore, I guess, but it’s not winning best screenplay anytime soon in this universe.

Is this poster for Ice Cream Man AI?

I compared the real prop truck from the same side to this one. What I noticed is the stickers are in slightly different spots. Look at the bumblebee sticker in the real photo (or what I think is the real photo) compared to that its position in the poster.

The ice cream logo near the front bumper on the poster is bigger. The trucks suse marker lights are in different positions.

The hubcaps are different, but that one I’ll give the benefit of the doubt, because maybe they didn’t want to show the Chevy brand in the actual movie. So that one’s on purpose.

The background. The drapes on the window look weird. It looks like there are stairs through the window of the ice cream truck, which would still be the roof of the house. The dead body on the driveway to the left does not look real.

If the Insomniac cover were released today, people would be accusing it of being generative AI.

Does anyone have issues with short battery lifespans?

2017 ES 350. I bought in 2020.

My battery went out in 2022 or 2023. It was covered under the warranty.

Now it’s 2026 and that battery they replaced is just starting to go out. I know this because the ignition lags and wipers come on when starting, signaling low voltage. This one also might be covered under a warranty (I hope).

Now I’m not the type to overuse the battery in any way. I even keep the inside light off andxrareky drive at night. Getting 3-4 years out of a car battery is frustrating.

To compare, I’ve a 2011 Ford Transit at work we use for deliveries. We replaced the factory battery in 2022. The OG battery ran for 11 years. I get Lexus uses more power when off, but 3 years is overkill.

Why is Insomniac disproportionately represented compared to Dookie lately?

On the God’s Favorite Band album, Brain Stew is the only song from Insomniac represented, even excluding Jaded with it.

At first glance, I thought maybe they’re just including the greatest hits of the greatest. But that’s not necessarily the case either, because they included “Welcome to Paradise“ and “She,” both of were not singles and did not have official music videos. They chose these over “Geek Stink Breath,” “Stuck With Me,” and ”Walking Contradiction,” all of which had music videos and the former being its first single.

This disproportionate representation is the case in recent live performances too. When I saw them on the American Idiot tour in 2004, they included “Geek Stink Breath” on the set list but left off “When I Come Around” and “Welcome to Paradise.” That’s not the case now.

I understand more songs from Dookie on albums and concerts, but I don’t think the ratio with Insomniac should be 5:1. It should be a 4:2, 5:2, 4:3. Bump a Dookie song off to fit one more from Insomniac.

Curry made an alternate ending in case the major studio demanded a happy ending for theatrical release. I like the alternate ending because it’s nice to see Bear redeeming himself. I think they made the right decision with the current ending, the alternate ending is still kind of sweet.

I saw a show where Green Day invited a musician named “Tommy” on stage to play guitar on a song. I then thought, wait, is this the same Tommy from Full House DJ had a crush on? It looks like him. He was also a musician. Same hair, same look. It’s not, but they sure do look alike, don’t they?

One is Tommy Lloyd, the other is Tommy Page. Even the surnames are similar. Page died in 2017.

The Odyssey being rated R is proof the MPAA is due for serious reformation

The movie is absent of nudity, gore, and has no F-bombs.

We see arrows go through armed baddies but no close-up shots of arrows penetrating skin. They’re very little blood oozing out.

Penetration with sharp objects itself should be PG-13. To get an R, consider if the aftermath of the wound is shown, if there’s visible blood during penetration and the amount, if it’s a close-up shot vs. wide shot, and how much time spent on the shot.

If the same battle used Star Wars lightsabers and blaster rifles instead of metal arrows, it’s PG-13. But because of the technicality that arrows exist and they’re sharp, an orange considered. The weapon choice is an absolutely an insane determinate.

Likewise, if the one-eyed monster were eating aliens who bleed green goo or androids who ooze sparks instead of red sanguine like we have, it’s PG-13.

There’re no long shots of humans being graphically eaten. They’re very brief shots of bites, quickly edited, very little blood if any, with the action being far away in the shot concealed in the shadows.

Telemachus slits the throat of a baddie, but we only hear the sound effect and see the sword on his neck, but we do not see the laceration being made or the aftermath.

We get an implied beheading. The statue symbolism is what a filmmaker would show when they want to you to know what happens without actually showing it. Innuendos exist for that purpose.

If Nolan knew he was making an R, he could have gone harder in that flashback scene by showing real dismemberment and lacerations - because it would have been an R anyway. All visible evidence point to the sign that Nolan was at least trying to make a PG-13 film when filming this, by how many times the film actually held back by NOT showing you the thing, but at the end of the day, said “Screw it, I’m a brand” rather than shave 20 seconds off the movie for resubmission.

It’s frankly pathetic that this an R. The MPAA should be the most lenient with content in film as compared to Northern European countries, but instead the American system is closer to Sharia Law.

The content shown here is what I’d expect and desire from a dark PG-13 comic book film. This is a family friendly movie; it’s on the very dark side of a family friendly movie, but it’s a family friendly movie a family of two parents and two tweens can enjoy. If this gets the same rating as Last House on the Left, America has a serious rating problem. America needs to desensitises itself to what it considers mature content.

The scene where Nikki’s hiding in the corner, concealed by shadows, was scary. The second hiding scene with another character later on was even scarier. It’s hard to spot her because it’s so dark. If you blink you’ll miss it.
