Rain in July - weather question

Moved here in late August of last year so I’m not fully familiar with the summer weather patterns in Vancouver. Are rainy days like this typical during the summer months or are they unusual ? Not complaining at all because I come from a country where it rains all summer. Just curious

Should I take this job or would it derail my long term goals ?

I am an early career professional with a Masters in Engineering. So far I have experince in 2 companies, each of which focus on MedTech / health tech. In one role I was an engineer and in the other I was a junior product manager (PM). The second company shut down because they ran out of funding and so I am looking for new roles. I have been offered a PM role in a large company that specialises in developing technology for food processing in factories. It’s pretty niche but I would be on the technology team.

My long term career goal is to be a product leader in big tech. I think this would be really positive for my career because I would get structured PM experience and the company seems great. Ideally I’d like to go back working in MedTech / health tech. Would it be a mistake to take the role if I ultimately want to get back into either MedTech or big tech ? I’m trying to figure out if I should hold out and try find a job in a MedTech place, but the job market is BAD right now.

My tips on how to fix the issue of pain when using Dream in small ears

This won’t apply to everyone, but I purchased the dream loops about 2 weeks ago and was delighted with the noise reduction. I have upstairs neighbors who have an insane morning and night time routine that consists of an hour of stomping above my bedroom, banging, dropping, flushing etc etc. so I purchased the loops. About 3 days into wearing them my ears were extremely sore, and had actually formed blisters in one ear. I have TINY ears so I was using the xs tips.

I’ve managed to completely remedy this issue by switching to the s silicon tips, which sounds counterintuitive given my tiny ears. But I found that the issue for me was that the xs tips allows them to go too far into my ear which then case the outer loop part to irritate the cartilage just outside of my ear canal which was causing the pain at night. By switching to the larger tips the tips could no longer go so far into my ear, but still sealed.

TLDR: if you have tiny ears and you’re having issues with pain from the xs tips, it might be a case of you pushing them too far into your ear and you should actually switch up a size and not force the tips in so far. See image showing how far they should be inserted. I was inserting them much further when using the smaller tips. Hope this helps someone.

EDIT: the picture is from loops own website / emails.

New rug!

Got this beautiful rug for our living room. I LOVE the colors and the design and it’s very easy to style around. Still adding pieces to the apartment like wall art and furniture (we don’t have a TV yet, I am currently an ipad kid) but I think it’s coming together nicely!! What do y’all think ?

I will find you TV show

Now look, I know we aren’t watching any Harlem Coben show for the Oscar winning performances or the fantastic scripts. Quite frankly, all of his dramatisation of his novels are pretty awful. But I’m on episode 5 of I will find you, and I have to say, it’s as if the entire cast had a round of Botox before filming because their is absolutely zero expression in anyone’s faces. It’s bizarre

Unpopular opinion - I like Hanah and wish she wasn’t fired

I know this is not the general consensus, but I actually really liked Hanah on summer house, even at the very end. Was she problematic ? Most definitely. Did she not fully take accountability for her actions ? Yes. Did she lose her mind a little in her final season ? Sure. BUT, the whole cast have done all pretty unforgivable things. Like it doesn’t get much worse than cheating on you girlfriend multiple time (Kyle), and sure he took accountability but he still did it ?? I find Hanah to be funny and entertaining and I liked her beef with the rest of the cast. I know that once you’re not friendly with Kyle you’re not gonna last much longer on summer house but I wish they had given her one more season after season 5. What I wanna know is why people think her behaviour was irredeemable ?

New to loop Dream - Can someone share a pic of how they are meant to be positioned in the ear ?

As the title says I am new to the loop dreams. Been having major trouble with them so far particularly one one year. Actually caused a blister / skin sore in my left ear which I think was caused by the outer ring. Can someone share a picture of how the loops should be positioned in the ear ? I have TINY ears and have been using the xs but I think maybe I’ve been pushing them in too far and that’s the issue ? Once my ears heal up I’m gonna try the small instead (silicon tips not the foam). I’ve tried finding pics online but they are all so different so I’m not sure

Aware of noise from apartments while walking around the city

Since having my own issues with upstairs neighbors I’ve become highly aware of noise from other apartment buildings while walking around the city 🤣 I was walking downtown last night and could hear people who’s windows were open coughing, blasting music, shouting etc etc as I walked passed apartment buildings. I kept thinking to myself I really hope those buildings are soundproof because I would hate to be that persons neighbor LOL

Im so sorry to anyone going through something similar

Just want to say, I am so sorry to anyone else who is sleep deprived due to selfish neighbors. I haven’t gotten a full nights sleep in weeks. Last night my neighbor decided to start playing the piano at 11pm. I don’t care if youre Mozart incarnate, I don’t want to listen to that at 11 at night.

It’s absolutely painful having to wake up and attempt to sleep on your neighbors schedule because when they’re up we’re ALL up due to their noise. My condolences to everyone else going through this too.

Why can we hear stomping through a concrete ceiling ?

New building is a “luxury” concrete building but we can hear upstairs neighbors peeing, stomping, flushing the toilet, opening bedroom drawers, dropping shit, loud music at 11am etc etc. Has anyone else experienced this in a concrete building ? Have already complained to management and they say they have spoken to the neighbor but I think the stomping has gotten worse and management say without video proof there isn’t much more they can do. iPhone is not very good at picking up low frequency vibrations like footsteps

Stompers above who have an insane schedule

Moved into a new place and we have stompers above us. They move furniture around and open drawers and drop shit all the time. The stomping is the thing I cannot get past. Goes on pretty much all day until about 12am, and then starts up again at 6am. If they’re feeling lucky they’ll get up in the middle of the night too and stomp around. My other grievance is that we can hear them peeing and flushing the toilet, but obviously this isn’t their fault. Bear in mind that this is a “luxury” concrete 26 floor building. NEVER AGAIN

Blister from outer plastic part ?

I got the Loop Dream a few days ago, and I’ve worn them now for 3 nights. I have tiny ears and I’m using the xs tip size, which seems fine. The issue I’m having is coming from the plastic outer ring part I think. It’s pressing up and rubbing on my ear when I sleep and has actually caused a blister in one ear. It’s super painful and I don’t know what to do ?

Why hasn’t Nathan been edited out after his comments ?

Why hasn’t Nathan been edited out of this season after his racist comments online ? In season 5 of below deck med they edited out Peter Hunziker after he posted racist images. I see no difference and I don’t know why we have to watch him.

Wow the Dreams work well

Moved into a new apartment with nightmarish neighbors that constantly stomp around at night and play their TV / music loud and laugh at a volume I’ve never heard anyone laugh at before. Haven’t had a full night sleep in the new place yet, but I bought the Dream earplugs and I have to say the are very good. I don’t think I’m using the right size because they kind of came loose during the night a few times and I had to readjust them, so I may size up from xs to s, but so far I’m impressed. Hoping for a full night sleep once I get them right!!

Has anyone lived in the Lauren on Broughton ?

We just moved in and are having issues with noise from neighbors. I’m trying to assess whether this is normal for the building or if we have loud neighbors ? Absolutely adore the building otherwise but this definitely concerns me, especially noise at night
