New to the game and need help deciding on a main between these six characters. Please see below for more information

Yo what's up everyone.

I've had GGST in my library for around a year now and I'd like to start playing it. I was waiting for the 2.0 update to hit and it's been a few months since then. I'm trying to decide on a character to main and I've narrowed it down to these 6 characters. No real reason other than I think their designs are cool.

I know that the easiest thing to do would be to just play them, but I was also wanting some opinions from experienced players in the community. I haven't purchased any DLC yet and I don't believe you can play unpurchased DLC in training, which is another reason I'm asking. My main questions about the characters are:

What are their playstyles like? Rushdown, zoner, grappler, footsies etc.

How hard are they to pilot? I'm fairly new to 2d fighters in general, so I'd ideally like avoid really complex characters from the get go. I'm more than up for a challenge, but I think it's better if I don't start with an insanely difficult character.

What are their strengths and weaknesses? Do any of them have glaring weaknesses against certain playstyles, or obvious strengths that make them top tier?

Anything else in general that I should know about each character, in terms of how they play?

Like I said before, this will be the first 2d fighter that I really commit to. I've played a few in the past but it's mostly just been in training mode and a few online matches. As for characters in other games I've played and had fun in training mode with:

Granblue - Vira and Ilsa

Blazblue - Noel and Hibiki

Undernight 2 - Kaguya

Tekken 8 - Jun

Smash Ultimate (I know it's not a traditional fighting game but thought I'd include it) - Cloud

If you think that I might enjoy another character's playstyle, please feel free to let me know. All help is really appreciated, thanks.

Is GGST, 2XKO or GBVSR a more fun game to learn and improve in?

Hey all.

I'm looking to try out a new fighting game after coming from SF6 and Tekken 8. Between GGST, 2XKO and GBVSR, which do you think is the more fun game to play? I know that GGST recently got a 2.0 patch and GBVSR will be getting an update in the next few months. As for 2XKO, I know that it seems to have a divided reception but it seems to be improving as of late.

For people that have played all three of these games, which do you consider to be more fun and worthwhile to invest time into? I know that it's probably better to just play all 3 for a while and find out for myself, but I think it's worthwhile to still ask for opinions from people that are experienced. Also feel free to recommend other fighting games that may be cool.

All insights and advice are highly appreciated! Thanks!

Edit: I should've probably asked the question differently lol. I'm more curious about what other people find enjoyable in each of the games.

Does anyone have opinions on the CyberDefenders CCDL1 certification? Is the content good?

Hey guys,

Looking to study for a certificate in my spare time and saw the CCDL1. I already have a degree, CCNA, SC-900 and currently working in an IT role. I eventually want to move into threat intelligence or forensics. Would this certificate be good to upskill in my spare time? Has anyone here done it?

All help is really appreciated, thanks!

Need help deciding which game to play out of these 6 options, or even other recommendations in general. More details below.

Hey guys. Looking for recommendations out of these games which have been sitting in my backlog for some time. For platforms I have a Switch, PS5 and PC. Would prefer to play on PC. Also feel free to recommend other games that aren't on here. I enjoy JRPGs with strong character dynamics and an intriguing unpredictable story. Also enjoy challenging but engaging gameplay. My favorite JRPGs are the following in no particular order:

  • Persona series (3, 4 and 5)
  • Trails series
  • FF7 and FFX
  • Chrono Trigger
  • Ys series
  • Xenoblade Trilogy
  • Tales of Berseria
  • Kingdom Hearts series
  • Pokemon series
  • Omori
  • 13 Sentinels

My interest in each of the 6 games:

  • Scarlet Nexus - I've had this in my library for a while and never played it. When it came out I played Tales of Arise instead, which was a very average game. The combat looks cool in Scarlet Nexus but I'm not too sure about the story
  • Tales of Xillia - Berseria is one of my favorite games ever. Xillia also caught my interest because the characters are apparently good. Not too sure if it's worth waiting for the second game to get remastered as well though
  • Granblue Fantasy ReLink - I know that Endless Ragnarok is coming out soon, so I thought it would be good to play this now. I don't know too much about the game aside from the fact that it's similar to monster hunter.
  • SMT V - I've never played an SMT game before, but I am a big Persona fan. Wondering if this is worth playing, since I heard that SMT isn't too big on story and characters.
  • Nier Replicant - Have heard great things about Nier Automata, but I know that Replicant should be played first.
  • Judgment - Big fan of detective stories and the game just looks like fun. Not too sure how good it actually is though.

Really appreciate all the help. Also like I said before, please feel free to throw out some other recommendations if you want. Thanks!

Edit: Didn't expect so many comments so just wanted to say that I am definitely reading all of them and thanks for all the recommendations!

Does anyone have opinions on the Desky Elite? Is it a good quality chair?

Hey everyone.

Looking to get a new chair for my home setup. I currently have an ergohuman which I've owned for the past 5 years. It's on its last legs so I've decided to get a new chair. I've been hearing decent things about Desky but wanted to get the opinions of people on this sub. I'm above 6 foot and I've heard this chair is better for taller people which is why I'm leaning towards it.

I know that the standard recommendations are usually second hand Herman Millers or Steelcases, but I'd really like to avoid getting second hand stuff if possible. My budget would be a max of $600.

Thanks!

Which of these 3 layouts is better? Please feel free to provide suggestions.

Room size is 3.2 x 3.4m for reference. I used Ikea's 3d planner. The wardrobe at the bottom left is meant to represent a Built in Robe. Thanks!

Edit: I added a 4th option in the comments.
