Gracias!

DROPS FESTIVAL review, and a reflection on darkpsy/forest.

Hey guys, so i am a spanish man in his late 20s, Drops festival just ended and i wanted to share my thoughts while they are still fresh.

For the record i went to a considerable amount of electronic music parties, mainly underground freeparties in Spain/France, and maybe around 10 psytrance festivals in my life, most of them were on the bright side of light, full on, progressive psy, etc

This time, after Sizigia festival got cancelled i decided to go to Drops festival in Slovenia, and by doing it i was giving another chance to dark subgenres.

I will classify my opinions on the good, the bad and the reflection.

THE GOOD:

1-The vibe : I felt most of the interactions were real, there was a lot of smiles but also some people saying truths to the face to others. Facial expressions of annoyance, anger or dissaproval were not repressed at all.

I felt surrounded by mainly introverted people who mostly had good heart but they weren't taking any shit from anyone.

But of course mostly love payed with love.

Honorable mention to how i felt a lot of this dark hippies and punkies were kind of "Live the life or leave the life", i talked to a lot of people in this festival and many were metalheads or psycore/experimental heads or both. It gave me the feeling that some of this people dressed and acted very similarly in their daily lives. Not a lot of cosplayers, although i don't have anything against them. But you know, just saying.

2- The bathrooms: Very very clean for the most part, only the night of saturday (of course) they were dirty. The rest of the festival i even sit on the toilet while shitting. AWESOME. Of course the pissoirs played a big role in this.

3- The music and sound quality: The selection of artists was very good in my opinion, i didn't have a lot of energy on this festival due to i guess my current health state, but even while not dancing the music was so damn enjoyable. You could hear every detail of every fucking psychedelic wave, and being darkpsy/forest so focused on the ambient sounds this couldn't have been better.

A truly psychedelic experience. Lambda labs in main stage and funktion one on tekno/psytechno stage.

Acousma and Necropsycho were my favorite sets Also Fantazma with the start of the rain and thunder was crazy.

Sator arepo felt like home in a cold couch while wrapped in blankets.

4- The stage design and lights were just a masterclass of how to transmit a vibe properly. It was a wooden spider. The main colors were red, electric blue and purple. Of course no lights in the stage at night, practically forcing you to introversion ( this can be a bummer for some people, but it grows in you)

5- The landscape: I didn't see a lot of people on forums talking about this, are you guys serious? The forest that surrounds the festival is a goddamn gem. Biodiverse, you saw many different trees next to each other, different colors, of course all of them were gigantic.

6- The workers: Security guards were nice and treated well by the festival( i asked several of them), so were the bar people.

THE BAD:

1- UNDERCOVER POLICE : At some point there were like 3 or 4 of them at the same time on festival grounds. I saw one man handcuffed with ropes and heard about more people taken to the police station just for even weed. This is unacceptable. But i am not going to get into who is it at fault or not.

2- Food options : Only two. An oriental food restaurant (that was very very good) all vegetarian. And a burger place i didn't try.

3- Chill spaces : Not enough, with how intense this music can be, chill spaces with shade felt insufficient for me. Nothing crazy, there were some options and the chill stage was nice. But more shade in the chill zone next to the stage would have been nice. Not a very big deal though.

4- The light behind the spinning wheel in the stage could be very annoying depending on the angle/distance you were on the dancefloor, kind of shitty for when you are tripping, specially if there is a lot of darkness don't shoot some laser light to my eyes.

5- The drug selection : The thing about living the life is that there is a lot of drug abuse, specifically in this party there was a lot of heavy doses of psychedelics, but also ketamine, and i also felt speed and coke. This for psytrance "peace and love" people can be shocking and/or different. Me i don't care, the vibe felt even better this way, or not better but more interesting.

6- No shade at the camping area.

THE REFLECTION:

I went to Gaggalacka festival last year and i didn't really connect with the music. This time at Drops it took me a while sometimes.

In my opinion, these darker genres are not passive music at all. I mean when you hear full on psy or prog, people automatically dance, the dance comes from the body and the bpm range is acceptable for most. But in these subgenres i had to concentrate, did some inner meditation and closed eyes dancing to give it some sense.

It is really a trip. Because mainly, i felt the music was chasing me. Sometimes the beat spoke violence, aggression to me, and so i talked to him in the same language. I started to stomp the ground with my feet with every beat. And danced like if the veins of fists and fingers were filled with boiling blood. I spoke anger with my body, and now after the party ended i felt liberation.

But some times the music spoke frustration, eeriness, creepiness, desperation, poverty, and the most important one suffering. Even the drums sounded different, like a David Lynch movie. And so i embraced it several times, and felt goosebumps.

Maybe that sounds insane, but that's representative of the whole vibe.

Oppressive would be the word, the music feels like the minds of people with mental health issues, so when i accepted it felt like home, and when i danced i felt acceptance.

To rate it somehow i would give the festival a 8 out of 10.

Would definetly come back the next year if i have the money and the time

What drugs do you take on Darkpsy festivals?

I found cool taking 2cb in Gaggalacka 2025, because even though its a psychedelic, its quite energetic and enhances the feeling of the beats in my body.

Tbh the bass/beat in darkpsy sometimes sounds too low, like decaf/light, as i am more used to the ups in happy psy, and 2cb solves that so i can enjoy the beat and also get submerged in the complexity of the ambient sounds of darkpsy and dark forest.

I think i am probably not the only one who has this issue

Regarding this, or any other of your experiences,I would like to know your opinion on which drug is your favourite for this subgenres.

Thanks!

Review 7 CHAKRAS FESTIVAL 2026 (Italy) The good and the bad

Hey there. I went to this festival this year. For the record i am a spanish 27y/o man.

I will try to keep this review as respectful as possible, if anyone of the crew reads me and feels offended you have my apologies in advance, but you know, sincerity very often hurts.

THE BAD:

Nr.1- After taking the train from Rome to Viterbo, we slept in a rural house and the next day Tuesday 14th at 15:00 h at midday we arrived to the pick up point for the official Shuttle of the festival. We paid it in advance, 10€ each. People were waiting since 12:00

After some messages from the organization via instagram they said they were having some problems with the shuttles.

At 16:00 people started to call taxis because the sun was giving no mercy and a lot of people were clearly with heat exhaustion.

At 18:00 the first shuttle arrived, a van with 8 seats + driver. And a normal car with 4 seats + driver. You can imagine how things went from here but well, we arrived to the festival line at 21:00 approx, having waited for the shuttle an approximate of 7 hours

Nr.2 - The normal campings were extremely close to the stages. Lucky us we could go to the carvan camping to have a little bit of sleep.

Nr.3 - The break time in the lineup of the main stage was the worst possible for healthy music enjoyers, or people who just want to sleep on a festival. On average the music ended at 7:30 in the morning, and started again between 15:00 and 16:00. Of course this, in a place where at 9 in the morning we were already at 32°C makes no sense at all. You had to choose between sleep or partying. A festival in the mediterranean, should have, in my opinion, a break that matches the max temperature hours, which are between 14:00 and 18:00. That way if people want to sleep the night they can and then wake up early and go to party in the morning. The morning from 6 to 12has enough good weather for partying but too hot for sleeping. But the weather in the max temps hours was dangerous for doing any other thing that wasnt laying in the shade.

Nr.4- THE BATHROOMS Honestly i wouldn't have minded any of the previous bad things if it wasnt for this one. First of all, in the area that contained the three stages (Psytrance, TeKno and experimental/psychill) there was a total of 15 bathrooms, toi tois, this coule be kind of acceptable if the cleaning was proportionate to this.

It was awful the whole time but specially by the night of friday and Saturday. On friday night, i took some acid ( maybe a little bit more than i should), but this festival is for trippers right? Trippers like me should feel at least safe going to the fucking bathroom. So i wanted to shit, opened 4 bathroom doors and the 4 of them were CHERNOBYL, not like a little bit of smell and the usual, no, it was shit all over the place, walls, floor, everything. And that mix of chemicals and different radioactive shit was impossible to handle.

And believe me i am not picky with cleanliness, i have lived in my van for a while.

People started to shit in the fields but i couldn't, you know i was tripping balls and the fields had high stingy weeds, i didn't want to fall and die.

Traumatizing experience while tripping, so much that it ignited psychotic thoughts in my mind and it took me hours to stabilize.

Why the fuck this festival had almost a hundred of workshops and healing speeches ??? If somebody from the festival is reading me, DOES IT MAKE SENSE TO TEACH PEOPLE HOW TO LET GO OF THE EGO, IF YOU DON'T ALLOW THEM TO LET GO OF THEIR OWN SHIT FROM THEIR GUTS?

WHY THE FUCK INSTEAD OF PUTTING SO MUCH MONEY INTO WORKSHOPS AND MAHATMA GANDHI STUFF, YOU PUT ALL THAT MONEY INTO CLEANING THE BATHROOMS AND LET PEOPLE COVER THEIR BASIC NEEDS WITH DIGNITY?

Nr5- THE CHILL AREAS The chill areas were practically non existent.

There was one next to two bathrooms that reeked in the night.

Another one next to the Tekno floor and more bathrooms.

Wtf, this is the whole point of psytrance festivals. We are usually not speed heads that can go berzerk and dance for 10 hours straight. Nor we aren't ketamine head that can be knocked out next to the speakers and rest there.

We are fucking psychonauts most of us, and as such, a lot of us get overwhelmed at times.

I need a rest place where i can look at trees, talk with my friends and maybe hear someone play the guitar or the flute. Or some other very chill stuff.

They left you with no option but going to camp or going to the experimental stage, which at night was also fast and could be overwhelming if you didn't match the energy.

NR-6 NO WATER IN THE TAPS FROM 4-5 IN THE MORNING UNTIL 9 OR 10 AM. THIS SPEAKS FOR ITSELF

THE GOOD

NR-1 The music and sound quality. They were completely awesome, they put almost all their money in this as it seems. A very big variety of subgenres, prog, full on day and night, groovy forest, dark forest, zenoesque and even hitech at times. The experimental stage was just superb with plenty of creativity and live concerts . Very good selection of artists.

NR-2 The mapping. The mapping at the main stage was just out of this world, i cant quite describe it but it was i think the best i have ever seen in my life.

NR-3 The crowd Although some assholes liked to constantly cut you in line. The crowd was very nice and they danced like it was the last day of their lives. Everybody was living the moment, very few people with phones.

NR-4 The workers Everybody was very helpful. At italian red cross they gave me electrolytes when i told them i was very dizzy and dehydrated because of the heat.

I asked the security guards how the festival was treating them and they said they were very happy with how the festival was doing it, always with shade, chairs, and 3 meals a day.

The barmen and women were also seemingly happy.

NR-5 The scenery.

Plenty of oak trees and beech in the festival grounds (but not in the campsites), there was a waterfall and river big enough for everybody.

TL;DR I will come back next year probably, but i will bring gear like high boots and plenty of flashlights to be able to shit (and bury) in the open fields.

I give the festival a rating of 6,5/10. If they solve the bathrooms, tap water and chill spaces, this could be a 8,5/10 . The festival had a lot of soul.

Are these soundproof windows poorly installed?

THEY STILL NEED TO CUT THE FOAM TO SIZE AND COVER THIS OUTER PART.

So that’s it, guys—I ordered 4 soundproof windows, 2 balcony windows, and 2 small ones.

What I see with the installation is that there are gaps, and they’ve used a general-purpose high-expansion foam (I’ve looked into it, and the best option is low-expansion foam specifically designed for windows).

And then, from what I can tell, I think they’ve used esparto grass and plaster or something like that—you can see it in the photos.

I’m no expert, but I think this is a botched job, don’t you?

If Own spirit already made a statement, why Sizigia Festival is still targeted?

150 recently marched in a protest against the festival.

I understand the environmental reasons (although almost every psy festival hurts one way or another nature because hippies like music festivals inside forests or next to lakes)

But regarding the genocide stuff, is this really fair? I mean, just because you are israeli it doesn't mean you support the genocide.

I am trying to understand this.

Avon was right all along

Gangster life in Baltimore wasn't about the money, it was all about territory, dominance, about wearing the crown.

We saw for the time Avon was behind bars that Stringer took a different approach at the game, he focused on numbers, being a businessman, having all the territories still under his hand he just needed to keep the wheel going, the dope coming and the soldiers loyal. But in all this time Avon was in jail, Stringer didn't worry about two things essential to the game:

1-The muscle: With weebay, stinkum and bird gone as several others, the muscle of the Barksdale org started to fade, but Stringer didn't care to recruit or make any new real muscle that could take their place. Why? Cause Avon left a very solid and safe west Baltimore for his crew. But Avon never slept on this, he always slept with the knife in his mouth, its prevention, being paranoic is the only way. Stringer cared about the rentability of the business and thats all. Almost treated the game as a passive income for him while he tried to get his head in politics and real estate.

But NO, it is all about protection, the ability to enforce your rules and assert dominance always, even if there is not a real threat to the business and only "minor" isolated cases like Omar. As Weebay told the De Angelo "Now we look like bitches"

2-The territory: When the product went to shit because of losing the connection to Roberto, Stringer wanted to do the Co-op with Prop Joe. Avon said otherwise but Stringer went along with it regardless.

This lead to two outcomes. West coast was, under the eyes of "the hood", not owned by the Barksdale organization alone anymore, it suddenly became a shared pie. Although it was still their territory, it doesn't matter, the thugs only believed what they saw, not what they were told.

All this motivated people as Marlo to gain territory and build up muscle rapidly enough, there was NO FEAR, gangster life is moved by fear.

Avon insisted again and again on holding on those towers and no coop whatsoever.

There was no money emergency, they could have been selling shit for a lot of time until that issue got solved, but not taking care of the territory or cleaning it from new enemies was a mistake that was way more difficult to amend.

Stringer got humbled by his own greed.

Avon knew this was THE GAME, not THE BUSINESS.

Why the flowers of my plants went brown? Tarragona,Spain

I am without a clue of the reason this happened.

Is it that maybe the soil is too loose and water gets drained in excess?

Or maybe is it lacking a certain nutrient i am missing completely? Iron maybe?

Should i add more organic matter to the soil?

Is there any kind of therapy to stop being startled/scared by loud sudden noises?

Hey there! So i am suffering a lot from the sudden noises, seems so extreme that lately sometimes i even get bothered by a bird singing suddenly.

And especially neighbours doing their normal life.

I know its not normal, and i know this is a consecuence of my trauma.

I also get too startled by sudden touching from everybody, even my girlfriend. I want this to stop, i want to be normal.

I read somewhere body therapy or something similar could work for the hypersensitivity of touch maybe?

What about the noise?

Has any of you had succes?

Thanks!
