My first successful contact with a deity!

So I've been slowly dipping my toes into deity work and after much consideration I chose Hekate as my first real attempt at contact due to her welcoming reputation.

The reputation did not disappoint, for the first time ever i got clear signals and answers from smoke divination!

I asked for clarification at one point because I couldn't understand what was being communicated in the smoke

The smoke at the bottom made a TRAIL to my tarot deck, when I asked if that was a sign the trail got bigger then immediately shrank to its original size

I looked at the reading abd I was given The Wheel of Fate in reverse so I asked if there was anything I could do to stop it and got The Heirophant in reverse telling me to break the normal rules I follow.

Saddly I failed the seize the correct moment and the very next day I got into a whirlwind of trouble for following the rules

The point I'm making is that the communication was clear and amazing! It was such a thrill to ask a question and recieve a tangible response.

I'm aware of trickster spirits, I did do proper warding before contact, as far as I know I succeeded for the first time and I'm just riding that high 😅

Lovecraft and his works

I believe he did tap into something primal and unknowable. As in I believe the gods Lovecraft wrote about are real.

I don't however think Lovecraft as a racist, sexist, xenophobic, agoraphopic, MESS of a human being was capable of accurately portraying what exactly he saw in his dreams.

But I do believe he tapped into some primal maybe pre-universal entity or energy.

So whatever he really saw from an objective standpoint as opposed to an insane one will never be known. And if someone else managed to contact it as well they probably had a very different impression to Lovecraft.

Summer time is here so be on the lookout for this beautiful specimen!

Broad leaf plantain or Plantago major if you like Latin names, is a wonder plant that pops up literally everywhere! And its highly medicinal!

That's right people of America, free Healthcare is in your front yard! Kinda.

It can be identified by its large lettuce like leaves and its iconic stalks.

The most common usage of this plant is to heal minor scrapes, cuts, stings, and burns. It offers pain relief and offers anti inflammatory properties.

When eaten these properties work on the inside, soothing inflammation in the body. This is why it was often used to treat respiratory illnesses.

As a bonus bit if knowlege here's how to make a long lasting ointment out of this plant!

You only need two ingredients too! A decent amount of plantain, and some petroleum jelly.

Step 1: dry the plantain until it can be ground into a fine powder.

Step 2: take the volume of the powder you made and add that to twice its volume of melted petroleum jelly. So 1 part herb, 2 parts jelly

Step 3: mix well until smooth and even

Step 4. Allow to cool and then store in an air tight container such as a jar.

Using tobacco in spellwork

If you are under the legal age to purchase tobacco this info is still good. Just don't attempt to get any before you're of legal age. I endorse tobacco as a magical herb, I don't endorse underage tobacco use of any kind however.

Tobacco is a potent herb when contacting the dead, and as an esteemed member of the nightshade family tree it is often used in baneful magics as well.

For practitioners of vodou especially make use of this herb as well as many native tribes who have long since used this plant for is magical and spiritual properties.

A caution however.

Even loose leafe tobacco has the additives of tar and I ther such impure attachments.

Do proper research into the brand you buy from to make sure they are pure leaf. While expensive my go to is American Spirits, they have a long standing pure leaf policy.

This is to avoid the horrid additives from corrupting the spellwork somehow.

Great books for nature magic!

These books are so good, they're explain so easily and the information is great! If you haven't read them I highly recommend!

It has detailed illustrations of each plant, their uses, planetary alignment, spiritual gender, as well as the various folk names for each plant as thats how they may be written down in older spell books.

Next it has a easy to flip through index of the planets and their associated plants listed under them as well as a spell ingredient index to tell you what herbs are best for what spell type.

As for the other book its more of what putting the knowledge in the encyclopedia to use looks like from a neutral standpoint, as in it invokes no gods, no named spirits, just the caster and nature harmonizing

However there are two other books in the set I don't own yet, but I expect them to be just as informative.

For anyone looking for a good base curriculum for natural magic this is probably one of the best starting points I've found.

Use of tobacco in rituals

Tobacco is a common herb used in baneful and necromatic magics.

If you are new and deciding to use it for the first time I recommend looking for the brands that dont have any additives to it like American Spirits.

Keeps your workspace cancer free

I used two color filaments made form 45% real wood. Oak and walnut, it came out exceptionally clean and I expect to use it for many rituals to come ^_^

A book series I feel every witch needs to read.

This series taught me what it means to wield real magic. This is not a spell book or a grimoire, it is a work of fiction.

But its philosophy on witchcraft is possibly one of the best I've ever encountered.

I've boiled it down to a few basic points

Magic is in everything, not just spellwork not just in intentions but absent mindedly when we dont even realize. Everything that ever is was or will be is magical. Something as simple as baking a pie is magic in itself.

Beware those who value style over substance, just because it looks cooler doesnt mean its better. Making your own tools and forming a bond through the act of creation will bring you closer to your craft

Do what you must to defend what you love, stare death in the eyes he doesn't have and make him apologize. Then invite him to tea.

Don't judge people and at least try to befriend everyone you meet.

Don't blame the ignorant, simply work around them.

These are a few of the lessons I got from these books, if you haven't read them they are wonderfully written and a fun read I highly recommend

Hekate and how to properly worship her

I've been reading a lot in her origins and history and im very interested, but I haven't found much in the way of how she was worshiped.

Should I build an altar to her? What kind of offerings to I make?

Are there any actions that offend this goddess? What are they?

Was Lovecraft a poet or a prophet?

Sometimes I wonder if the maddening horrors depicted by Lovecraft weren't visions send to him by the very beings he portrayed.

Most likely his works are fiction, but then theres the bloop...

Wanna know whats ironic?

It was never demon worshipers summoning demons.

Looking at summoning through the ages its nearly ALWAYS a devout Yahweh fearing holy man who summons demons.

King Solomon is the obvious one but let's not forget the Catholics have had high ranking church officials participating and leading the summoning of demons.

The grimoires for summoning demons nearly always invoke yahweh to do it

So if you have an overly religious person in your life who looks down on you for loving the occult, remind them who REALLY summons the devil

The green man is contacting me

In less than a month he has appeared 3 separate time unrelated to each other.

First I found a bottle depicting the green man, I felt the strong urge to buy it so I did.

Next I was watching TV and the show I was watching heavily featured the green man

Finally I purchased an encyclopedia of spirits and opened a to a random page when I got it. The green man was the entry I landed on by chance.

I feel like im being called but to do what? Why the bottle? And insight from fellow seekers would be much appreciated
