I have an idea for a Ravenloft Horrors Within campaign and I want some advice

I feel like I’ve had 20 different ideas for what camping I should run, but I think this should be the most simple one given how it should work.

The basic idea is that the party is being sent to a different domain of dread for one or two sessions to defeat the domain’s dark lord. But the party has a time limit until they have to confront the lord.

During the time before the final fight, they can do certain activities to learn info on the dark lord and their weaknesses, cause events that can either weaken the dark lord during their fight or accidentally empower them, find items to make the party stronger, etc. After they defeat the dread lord, they return to a sort of main hub to level up, gain dark gifts, etc. Then the next session they do a different domain of dread and repeat the cycle

The structure takes inspiration from both Hitman with the whole concept of learning the boss’s weakness, and Persona with how each activity costs the party an amount of time.

Does this sound like something people would enjoy? And if so, what domains should I use? I’m looking for a handful that are distinct from each other.

The domains I’m looking towards using are Barovia (obviously), Har’Akir, Falkonia, Dementlieu, Innsmouth, Kartakass (I have a gimmick in mind where the first half of the time here is normal, then it turns night and the werebeasts emerge), and a bunch of others.

I sent my Reddit link to a discord account without realizing it was part of that Reddit Support Discord scam. Am I screwed?

I found out it was a scam the moment I sent it, so I deleted the link, blocked the Discord account, blocked the Reddit account that “reported me” and then changed my password. Anything else I need to do?

What are your thoughts on running a campaign that is sort of a fusion between SGttEH and RotFM

So I’m thinking on running a Rime of the Frostmaiden campaign that has an Eldrich Horror, Bloodborne-esque spin on it. The idea is that the party is still dealing with the winter goddess Auril, and her neverending winter in the Icewind Dale, but there is also an Eldrich entity taking advantage of this winter and causing indescribable horrors to manifest in the Dale.

This is to add a more horror-themed element to the already survival-based and isolated setting of RotFM. And I think that I’m going to incorporate elements of Steinheart to accomplish this. And I want advice on what else to use.

My first Monster Hunter experience!

The image above is one I took earlier in the playthrough. So far, I’m going through the story, and I just beat my first Nerscylla

So far, I’m enjoying it. I know Wilds has very divisive opinions, but it’s been pretty fun so far.

Though I will say that Nerscylla is the first monster to really be a challenge for me. Hoping it gets at least a little harder soon.

How did you guys get your party into the first main quests?

I’m currently trying to plan how I want to run my campaign, and my idea is to have the party complete at least one of the starting village quests, then they do Nature Spirits, and they go into the tavern after to hear commotion about a murder, which should then lead into Cold-Hearted Killer. With adjustments to the stat blocks for the enemies in all quests to be made if needed.

Does that sound okay?

New DM here. I was wondering what campaign I could use for my first ever game in DnD 5.5E

I’m hoping for a campaign (either an official published adventure or a third party campaign designed for 5.5E) that would help me to get a hang of this whole DM-ing thing, while also being fun for the players.

Is it okay that I don’t feel anything about this?

5 years ago, me and my mother left my dad after he was hooked on drugs and became increasingly abusive emotionally and mentally. By the end of the marriage, it was constant yelling and crazy shit.

Today, I have just learned that he died due to a drug overdose, and I feel… nothing about it.

Is that normal?
