Sent you a message
I’m honestly scared of how you’ll react. But I’m still hoping we get the chance to talk because there’s something I’ve been carrying for a while. I just want to be honest with you and finally tell you how I truly feel.
I’m honestly scared of how you’ll react. But I’m still hoping we get the chance to talk because there’s something I’ve been carrying for a while. I just want to be honest with you and finally tell you how I truly feel.
Hello. How are you? How was your day? Did you eat? Can we go out and have lunch together?
Diana,
I don't know if I'll ever have the courage to let you read this. Maybe that's why I'm writing it instead because here, I don't have to worry about your reaction. I don't have to see your face or wonder what you're thinking. I can finally say the things I've been keeping to myself.
I like you.
More than I've ever intended to.
I don't know exactly when it happened. Maybe it was through our little conversations. Maybe it was the simple moments when I would see you and suddenly my whole day felt a little different. Somehow, without me realizing it, you became someone I started looking forward to seeing.
And that's the difficult part.
Because I see you, and there are so many things I want to say. Sometimes I want to walk up to you and just talk. Sometimes I want to make you laugh, ask about your day, or simply spend a little more time with you. But then I get nervous.
I overthink everything.
I think about what I should say, how I should say it, whether I'm being too obvious, whether I'm bothering you, or whether you're even comfortable talking to me. And before I know it, the moment is gone.
You probably don't realize how many times I've wanted to say something but chose silence instead. You probably don't know how much courage it takes for me just to send a simple message. And you probably don't know that sometimes, after we talk, I replay the conversation in my head and wonder if I should have said something differently.
That's how much I care.
And maybe that's also why I'm afraid.
I'm afraid that you don't feel the same way. I'm afraid that what feels so meaningful to me might just be ordinary to you. I'm afraid that if I finally tell you the truth, things between us might change.
Maybe you'll become distant. Maybe our conversations will become awkward. Maybe I'll lose the little connection we have now.
And honestly, I don't know which would hurt more knowing you don't feel the same, or never knowing because I was too afraid to ask.
Sometimes I wish feelings came with answers. I wish I could somehow know what you think about me without having to risk telling you how I feel.
But I can't.
So I keep quiet.
I pretend I'm okay with whatever this is. I tell myself not to expect anything. I remind myself that you don't owe me the same feelings just because I care about you.
And I know that.
I really do.
But knowing that doesn't make it any easier.
Because the truth is, I like you.
I like you in the quiet moments when I'm thinking about you for no particular reason. I like you when we're talking, even when the conversation is about something completely ordinary. I like seeing you, even when I don't get the courage to approach you. And sometimes, just knowing you're there is enough to make me happy.
Maybe this is what unrequited love feels like.
Caring about someone while quietly accepting that they might never know just how much they mean to you. Wanting to get closer, while being terrified that getting closer might only give you more chances to get hurt.
I don't want to make you feel guilty. I don't want you to feel like you have to give me anything in return. I just wish, somehow, that you could see what's behind all my awkwardness.
That when I seem quiet, it's not because I don't want to talk to you.
It's because I want to talk to you too much.
When I hesitate, it's not because I don't care.
It's because I care more than I know how to express.
And when I sometimes pull away, it's not because I've stopped liking you. It's because I'm trying to protect myself from hoping for something that might never happen.
Maybe someday I'll be brave enough to tell you all of this. Maybe someday I'll finally look at you and say the words I've been rehearsing in my head over and over again:
I like you. I really, really do.
But until that day comes, I'll keep this letter to myself.
So for now, this is my confession.
The one I probably won't send.
The one you'll probably never read.
But at least, for once, I can stop pretending to myself.
I like you. More than you know. And maybe more than I'll ever have the courage to tell you.

D, I couldn't show you who I really was because I was too afraid that you might reject me. I wanted to tell you how I truly felt, but every time I tried, fear held me back.
I gave you everything I could my time, my patience, my care, and all the love I was too afraid to say out loud. I chose you with all my heart, but you chose to break it. That was the one thing I never thought you'd do.
So now, I'm choosing to walk away. Not because I stopped caring, but because I've finally realized that some feelings are meant to be let go. It's time for me to move forward and find the peace I couldn't find while holding on.
I hope that one day you'll understand how deeply I cared for you, even if I never found the courage to show it completely.

Dear Diana,
I saw you again today.
I honestly didn't know what to feel. Part of me wanted to smile, walk up to you, and say hi. But I couldn't.
Maybe you were making small gestures for me to notice you, but I kept looking away. Not because I wanted to ignore you, but because I don't think I can bear hoping again.
If only you knew how happy I was to see you after weeks of not seeing you. I missed seeing you more than I'd like to admit.
I'm sorry if my "hi" felt hesitant. I'm sorry if I wasn't like before, na excited pag nakikita ka.
The truth is, I still don't know why I'm holding on to these feelings. I don't even know why they're still here. All I know is that every time I see you, I still want to talk to you, even if it's just for a little while.
Don't worry. I'll keep the promise I made to you. Once I've given it to you, I think I'll finally be able to let you go.
Maybe this is my last letter to you.
Thank you for the memories, for the smiles you never knew you gave me, and for making my heart feel something so genuine. Even if our story wasn't meant to happen, I'll always be grateful that our paths crossed.
Take care, Diana. I sincerely hope life gives you everything you've worked so hard for.
Goodbye.

Dear Diana,
I can't seem to forget you. It's been weeks, and somehow I still find myself looking at your socials, wondering how you've been.
Maybe we're just not meant to cross paths again. Life has a funny way of bringing people together for a moment and then quietly taking them in different directions.
Looking back, there are times I wish I hadn't been so friendly or so eager to get close to you. Maybe things would've felt different, or maybe they would've ended up the same. I'll never really know.
What I do know is that meeting you meant something to me. Even if it was only for a short time, I'm grateful for it. I don't regret liking you. I only regret the moments when I may have made you uncomfortable or overwhelmed you.
I'm slowly learning to let go, even if a part of me still hopes you're doing well. I don't expect anything from you. I just wanted to say the things I never got the chance to say.
I hope life is kind to you. I hope you achieve everything you're working so hard for, and I hope you find happiness wherever life takes you.
Take care, Diana.

I like you, and I'm sorry if I was too much.

I hope we can still be friends. I just wanted you to know how much I really like you. Sorry if I scared you or made you uncomfortable in any way. That was never my intention.

The truth is, I enjoyed getting to know you. Every conversation, every game, every little interaction meant more to me than you probably realized. I found myself looking forward to hearing from you and seeing you around.

I wanted to text you more, take you out, and spend time with you. I wanted the chance to know you better and see where things could go. But I also understand that feelings aren't always returned the way we hope they will be.

If I came across as too eager, I'm sorry. It wasn't because I wanted to pressure you. I was simply excited about someone I genuinely liked.

Regardless of what happens, I'm grateful that I met you. You've given me a lot of happy moments, even if you never knew it. I respect your space, your feelings, and whatever you want moving forward.

I don't expect anything from this letter. I just wanted to be honest about how I feel because some things are too important to leave unsaid.

Take care of yourself, and I hope life brings you all the happiness you deserve.
