GLP-1 weight loss and now I’m hearing impulse control?

Hi all,

So my therapist is super thoughtful. I have bipolar II and ADHD among other things. She said she was thinking about me and my often but not always I lack impulse control. She said she came across some evidenced based research that GLP-1 can help with impulse control. Because it blocks food noise it can also block other impulses.

Obviously she is not a doctor and we left it there. I meet with my new psychiatrist early September. My last one was amazing for seven years and in the last few years she turned into a robot and wasn’t listening to me anymore. Sad because she was the one who diagnosed me with BDII.

Anyway. I gained 60lbs on latuda. Devastating honestly. I’m healthy and workout. But I can’t get the weight off. I quit drinking because I was being unreasonable. I lost some weight there but nothing significant.

See. I tried a type of GLP-1 about three years ago and it wasn’t working. I only gave it three months because my insurance wouldn’t cover it. I wasn’t seeing results and I didn’t have the money to keep trying. I chalked it up to I don’t over eat.

My question is: has anyone else experienced zero weight loss in the first 3 months of GLP-1? And has anyone heard of it helping with impulse control? Do people have experiences with GLP-1 being ok with bipolar disorder?

Thanks! Let me know if I need to clarify some things. I can be long winded.

Toddler finally asleep I’m queer (so two moms). Relevant in post.

Avocado seasoned with avocado oil, sea salt, and pepper. Costco chipotle chicken. Green grapes. Hummus with pine nuts. Tortilla chip. My wife had a lil baby pizza. I’m allergic to gluten and dairy so I could not join her.

HRT expert who specializes in this area

I had a hysterectomy recently and I am currently in menopause. I am working with my surgeon on HRT but she is super busy and doesn’t specialize in this area. I am desperate to get leveled out.

Any recommendations for an HRT (hormone replacement therapy) specialist in the Denver metro area?

Thank you!

I need help with HRT in the Denver metro area

Hi all,

I had an everything goes hysterectomy in January. I am working with my surgeon for HRT. She is super busy and also doesn’t seem to be an expert in this area. Today I was out of breath from putting sheets on my bed. This is not typical of me at all. I’m dragging and crashing. I can’t live this way.

If you know anyone in the Denver metro area who specializes in this please let me know. I’m desperate.

I need support

Yesterday I reached out to the community for group support. I got discouraged and gave in last night. Today is day 1 again. Always day 1 again.

I have bipolar disorder that I am mostly stable on meds. I ran out of some meds and my doctor took a while to fill them. I got all whacked out and was using too much edibles.

I didn’t sleep last night and I feel head to toe anxiety pulsating through me.

I am going to a MA meeting this afternoon. I threw away my edibles.

I just need people to be here for me.

What withdrawals should I expect? I have to quit. I have so many reasons that are important to me to stop.

I am in my 40’s and used since 15. Chronic edible user for 10 years now.

My brand new switch 2 went black.

I bought a switch 2 this past Sunday. I’ve had zero issues until today. When I hold the power button down for 30 seconds the Nintendo icon shows up then it goes black. I now have it in the power adopter charging but it’s still a black screen. It is not showing a charging icon. What do I do please help?!

Update: I called Nintendo and she tried a bunch of trouble shooting. Nothing worked. I have to mail it back and in 2-3 weeks I get a new or one that has passed the codes. All my games on my original Switch were transferred to my 2. And I need my switch 2 to work so I can play on my OG. No video games for me for probably 3 weeks.

We are out of fruit and vegetables girl dinner.

I love being queer. We can like have girl dinner whenever we want. It is not letting me post two pictures. My wife and I have a sick kid so I need to go to the store. We are all out of fruits and vegetables. So unhealthy girl dinner. My wife’s plate was similar but less chips and hummus because she made a mini pizza too. I am terribly allergic to gluten and dairy. Otherwise I smell what she’s stepping in. They are adorable lil baby pizzas.

Edit: tortilla chips, pine nut hummus. Spicy salsa. Mixed nuts. Baby bell cheese. Dairy free chocolate coconut thing. My wife’s plate had a mini pizza but not pictured.

Injured teenage crow. The mom is going berserk. I fear this will be a slow painful death… anyone know of a place to call to help or euthanize?

There is an injured crow that is still attached to mama crow outside my home. The poor young crow looks miserable and can’t fly. I’ve called around to a bunch of different places and no one rescues crows. At this point even someone to put the crow down so they don’t suffer.

Anyone know of a place?

I can’t seem to completely quit cannabis and I NEED help.

Like the title says.

It has been over a year now that I have been sober from alcohol and every other drug for that matter. But I live in a state where it is legal and I use edibles.

I am a therapist and everyone is struggling right now. Which is fine. I understand people come to therapy because they are struggling but it’s the heaviest it’s ever been since I have been in this field which is a good amount of time. People are NOT ok because of the state of the world in the states and all. Plus just personal life struggles people go through.

When I get off work it’s hard to stop my brain because I also have ADHD, C-PTSD, dissociative disorder, generalized anxiety, and bipolar II. I have ways to help myself cope but it doesn’t always quiet me down enough. Weed shuts my brain down. But my wife has been tracking and it’s been putting me into mixed episodes which are beyond miserable.

For some reason stopping drinking was almost easy. But weed is so hard for me to stop doing.

I was hypo yesterday and a wave of depression hit me today. I barely made it through the work day.

I want to be clean like I am from everything else.

Help! Any tips?

Please be kind to me. I know how bad cannabis is for us bipolars.
