Why doesn't Spanishdict have all translations?

For example, if you want to translate he avoids the question you say "él soslaya la pregunta" but Spanishdict does not list soslayar as a translation for to avoid. You can use evitar.

To anger they only translate it as enojar but no entry for enconar.

To bury they only translate it to enterrar, hundir but no inhumar.

Astonished is translated as asombrado but no atónito or patidifuso

among others

Is it possible to become a Latin teacher if you only know Latin as a hobby?

I think that there’s very little Latin teachers but that’s also because the market isn’t popular

but I am already a teacher so don’t need pedagogy practice but perhaps need to master Latin languag. perhaps I should get actual credits?

is there anyone who is a Latin teacher without full classical degre or Latin degree or just full mastery but sufficient to teach Latin I and II and AP Latin?

is there anyone who lives one side of the city and works at the school opposite side?

Has it ever come to the point that if you live in Coney Island, you had to take a position from South Bronx? Is that a reality for some teachers?

*My dad has fallen asleep multiple times while I was driving

idk maybe some advice please and thank you

what exactly is the goal and purpose of SAT (or other test prep) math?

So my focus is SAT math, and maybe because I am an official teacher, I need to reevaluate what the purpose or goal of the SAT math course is.

So for SAT math, the SAT expects the student to be competent in algebra more or less (yes, there are more sections, but I want to keep it simple)

However, because Desmos is part of the exam, you can just Desmos your way through most of the exam without knowing the algebra. You can basically teach Desmos and test-taking strategies.

Should students learn algebra or learn how to take a test?

Thoughts on restructuring geometry class

When I taught geometry, I broke up the course into analytical geometry in the first semester and then into Euclidean geometry in the second semester.

I found success in this way because analytical geometry is closer to what they are familiar with from algebra I and/or II. The rest of geometry is just pure geometry: proofs and formulas.

I struggled to teach proofs despite reading a bunch of literature assuring me it was possible. With that said, I was wondering if there is a disservice in limiting the teaching of geometry proofs.

how do you take classes for credits for the license extensions?

Say I am an English teacher looking to teach Spanish, and I need 18 credits in Spanish. What are my options to take said courses? (this will work for all other subjects: math, chemistry, physics, biology, geology, etc.(

given the choice, would you prefer chemistry or physics?

I tried searching the subreddit.

do you prefer teaching chemistry or physics? (Please only consider these two, so no biology, environmental, psychology, forensics, geology, etc)

Could there be an imbalance of doctor specialties?

So basically, I am not familiar with what it really means for a residency to be competitive but from what I understand is that dermatology is artificially capped making it one of the most competitive fields. With that said, there are many pros to being dermatalogist.

My question is if dermatologist goes uncapped, wouldn't everyone choose to go into dermatology leaving other fields pretty much in low supply.

Yes there are some doctors who are truly interested in their field because they are genuinely interested but why wouldn't you get similar pay for "less work." (I hope this isn't offensive because dermatologists are amazing doctors but they are labeled of having nice clinical hours, etc).

why is elementary teacher a saturated/popular position?

so I understand that elementary is not easir just because the content is easier and this will vary for schools but I see that elementary teachers have to lesson plan for like 4/5 lessons a day. Despite this, many still choose to go into elementary. Why?

Can I survive 2 more school years?

I've been thinking about quitting in exactly 2 more school years ~ 2028, but I am just really not feeling it after this year. Job market is bad, I can't see myself doing any other job.

is OMT harder for veteran teachers?

Is it basically if you have (too) many years in a school/system, OMT is impossible, hard or worse?

If both partners are having doubts, is it best/a sign for us to just break up?

Here are the facts of the case:

This girl and I have been seeing each other for a bit. I've been trying to advance to the next stage for some time now, but she hasn't (she said she wanted to take things slow).

I was reading somewhere else in this sub that if I'm stuck waiting for her, then maybe I should reevaluate my decision to stay with her.

She one day expressed that she had doubts about being with me.

I am ready to move on from her because I feel those are the hints she's giving me that she is interested in a breakup.

Am I just giving up too early? I don't want to waste either of our time.
