For everyone who thinks that Uber actually pays third parties for insurance

For everyone who thinks that Uber actually pays third parties for insurance

Uber owns insurance subsidiaries so that they can take the money and pay less for insurance while still charging us out the butt. They hope that you don’t find out that they can keep taking tons of money, but only pay pennies.

Once again, LYFT has screwed me

They only gave me $5.25 out of my $15 ride.

u/Wolfjason1 — 1 day ago
▲ 1 r/Lyft

That is terrible. Went from $1.32 a mile to barely over a dollar a mile.

They screwed me from the beginning because I had a filter on and it messed up because they were supposed to get dropped off at the same place. I was picking him up so it did not show me the actual distance because the drop off and pick up we’re both within my filter, but the stop was not within my filter. I picked him up at a train station in the college town and was supposed to bring him back to that same train station. Because he was going to pick up his daughter. He realized halfway through a ride that his train was in 30 minutes, but the ride was going to take over 45. So he ended up switching it to the next station the city over. About the same amount of time, but the drop off distance was twice as far, Because it’s all highway. So instead of driving 19 miles for $25 I ended up driving 33 miles for $34.

The profit went down. I basically made a dollar a mile almost. Just because of that small change. I didn’t realize how much less I was going to get per mile until afterwards. They screwed me on that rate. I mean yeah I got $10 more but the amount per mile was way less which is really what matters. I know some people count how much they get per hour but that does not work in my area because I get 15 miles per gallon in the city in about 20-25 miles per gallon highway, because the highway in my area is extremely backed up and can take more time than normal sometimes. Plus the trip back to the Collegetown. So that means it’s 15 to 20 miles back to the college.

Why does there always have to be 1

Provide top-tier service and there’s always one person trying to complain about your driving so that they can get it free or discount on their ride that they probably only paid eight dollars for.

They are removing damage coverage for delivery trips

In case you needed another reason to stop doing delivery

u/Wolfjason1 — 13 days ago

This should not be an option.

I am a shopper and a customer. I’ve had my items replaced when I’ve requested a refund. I was pissed off because I requested a refund if it was not available and they provided me the wrong item as a replacement and it wasn’t even the same. Instacart refused to refund me because they said that it was replaced. Even though I requested a refund specifically. You should not be able to replace it when the customer wants a refund. They can see the whole thing too they didn’t pick a replacement so why would you pick one for them if they wanted one they would’ve told you.

That’s how people get reported and get bad ratings. Customers tell you what they want. If it’s not available so be it. If they wanted a replacement, they would tell you if they want a refund they will tell you.

Just another day and another fuck you from Uber.

There is no reason for them to remove brake. Besides the fact that they don’t want us to take breaks. They want us to take the rides they want and work when they want us to work. Literally brake mode was a very useful tool because it would tell you Where all the stops and gas stations and everything was. Without you having to go to Google maps or whatever to find that. Now you will have to go to another map platform or whatever to find gas stations and stuff. Also on break mode, you would not lose your bonuses if you paused for a second. If you go off-line, you’d lose your surge and bonuses. So it saves Uber money because then you won’t qualify to get them when you are off-line whereas on break mode, you could still get them.

This is a huge fuck you from Uber. Every update made in the past two years maybe longer has been downhill and benefited them, but not benefited drivers in really anyway at all. I can’t really name one good change they made in the past two years. Everything has been to benefit them.

I wish LYFT would go back to offering rides to three people max.

I love how we went the wrong direction after Covid. Before Covid as far as I can remember the area I was in you could only have a max of three people in the vehicle because of safety concerns with having passengers in the front seat. Uber and LYFT used to tell us not to let people sit in the front seat because it could make them uncomfortable or it could turn into a bad situation. It was actually against policy at least for my area.

After Covid, they started allowing up to four people. Like I don’t want four people in my car besides me. But I am required and if I cancel the ride, it can affect me and my cancellation rate. So I end up getting screwed all because I don’t feel comfortable or safe having people in the front seat.

And then customers get mad and I have to cancel because I won’t let them sit in the front seat next to me. I’ve had too many incidents with drunk people and people trying to SA, or touch me. I’ve also had too many people making threats or uncomfortable comments on my safety and with weapons. Not that that would change if they were in the backseat. But I would feel safer.

How have we got to the point where pretty much any tip is considered good for DoorDash?

Every once in a while, I will get a DoorDash delivery at least a few times a day, usually on a good day. It will say this customer is a good tipper. Then I delivered an order and they sent me two or three dollars. That is barely anything. I’m not complaining. I will take pretty much any tip because at the end of the day any tip is better than no tip. But we should not be calling people good tips for tipping two or three dollars. I got an order today that said the person was a good tipper and after I delivered it, they had only tipped $3.25. What happened to the days where people used to tip five to $10? I used to have people whenever it snowed they would tip me $20 at least. Now it’s like I’m lucky if I even get Two dollars on an order.

Theres no way someone is ordering 90 bottles of excedrin.

90 bottles of Excedrin. Why do you even need that? How are you not gonna tip? Not to mention the store is like 5 miles away from me.

These false reports are crazy.

I filed a report with LYFT because the passenger was extremely rude and intoxicated. They kept telling me how intoxicated they were and they could barely even get out of the vehicle at the end of the ride. They start stumbling all over the place because they were so intoxicated that they couldn’t even figure out how to get out of the car properly.

The next morning, I got a complaint about how I was driving recklessly and all this stuff when I have never got a report of reckless driving and I have had a five star rating for years now. My rating has almost never gone under 4.9. But now because of this, my rating is 4.87 which is just below the threshold for the rewards.

So now my rating got tanked because of 3 1 star ratings out of 100 rides. Like I did 96 perfect rides and because I had 4 that weren’t perfect now I don’t qualify for rewards. It’s so screwed up because passengers can say whatever they want and these companies just believe them and I did this full-time for a living. This is my job and someone could literally give me fired or removed because they want a free ride or they are pissed off because they got reported for being Unprofessional. Like I’ve got reported once before on LYFT for being intoxicated when I don’t even drink. It’s actually pretty much impossible for me to drink because I have issues that if I do, I will get sick almost immediately. But I had to basically admit fall to LYFT for them to activate my account again. Because they said they had no way of verifying it so I just had to agree not to do it again and if I get another false report, I could be deactivated.

Like own up to your actions and stop trying to falsely accuse us of stuff and risking our career because you want to get revenge or a free ride

Does LYFT give you different agents depending on your complaint whether it’s about something they do or a passenger?

I contacted LYFT today about a passenger that was intoxicated and extremely unsafe. They almost hurt themselves multiple times because of how intoxicated they were. I see these people sometimes and I don’t even know how they are still functioning because it seems like they’re not functioning that much. Stumbling around and stuff not even sure where they are half the time. I got a very supportive agent who helped me out right away. I usually do when it’s a safety concern involving a passenger. And they usually have English sounding names. (Examples of some that I have seen: Josh, brittany, Chad, Ryan,).

But then when it’s an issue, I have with LYFT like my account getting restricted or missing pay. I always seem to get someone with a crazy sounding name. (Deepash or something the other day, and many others). They almost never are able to solve my problems until I start demanding a supervisor or threatening to go to politicians. That’s the only time they decide to do their job.

Always interesting after midnight. They say nothing happens after midnight or 1 AM or 2 AM or whatever. I believe it.

I always get some interesting creatures after the bar start to close. All the alcoholics and crackheads come out of nowhere. I picked up a woman at around 1:15 maybe in the morning. I could already tell when she got in before she even said it that she was super intoxicated and I’m pretty sure she like I don’t know what she did but she like went up to the car next to me and like did something on the hood of the car before getting in and I was just like you know what I’m not even gonna ask.

She immediately gets in and she just is kind of like stumbling and just kept saying hi and I’m like OK hi. Then she says that she’s drunk as sht like three times in a row and I’m like yeah I kinda got that part. I didn’t see that but that’s why I was thinking. I didn’t really say much after that cause it was just kind of awkward after that. Then when she goes to get out, she’s like fumbling around with her stuff trying to get out and then she’s like stumbling getting out of the car. I think she bumped into the other car getting out And then she’s like and doesn’t even close my door just starts walking away.

Like I don’t understand how you get so drunk that you don’t even know how to carry yourself. I was in the military and we got drunk and stupid stuff. We at least knew what was happening most of the time.

Lyft wait time estimates for drivers are BS

My area has said one to three minutes for the last hour and I have not received any ride request. How is it one to three minutes but you haven’t offered me anything in over an hour? Like I don’t understand where they get the estimates, but it is BS. LYFT is getting dry. It’s literally pouring rain and I haven’t got a single ride.

I don’t know if this is a good or a bad thing. It makes it way easier for me to complete challenges. But I feel like at the end of the day. LYFT will find a way to make this work for them

I was restricted for a week because of some BS. I come back in the challenges are different. Before the challenges was a minimum of 30 rides for a certain amount which was usually about $30 bonus. And then the max will be 120 rides for an unknown number of bonuses depending on the week. In my area rides are far and few between unless I go to the metro city about an hour away each way. But because of these new bonuses, it makes it work my time a little bit more because I usually make 500 to 1000 a week so now I need to do is make The same amount I usually do and I could get $500 bonus. This seems like a no-brainer to me.

This weekend was not great. Unless this was a weekly bonus. But I just got unrestricted yesterday so I don’t know. But next week is supposed to be a $400 bonus for the max amount. I don’t need as much money earned. It seems like if iron $960 again extra $480. And that includes adjustments. Which means that I can literally get an adjustment for a few and get more money while LYFT is making less. Because with lyft I get a lot more adjustments. So we will see how this all works out.

Because LYFT claims that they only take a 30% max fee every month. But if they are paying me an extra 50% roughly just for earning almost $1000 that means that they’re paying me is 75% roughly if I get the bonus so I don’t know how this will work out.

Anyone who has this new feature let me know what you think. Because it seems to me when LYFT and Uber usually do things they usually benefit them more than us. But I don’t see how this benefits them as much. Unless they start taking 50% of our earnings and giving back some of it if we earned enough money.

How is this towards my destination? I have to go through three different states just to get the ride.

This ride goes from the state. I am in to the neighboring state and then to my state. But I would also have to go through tolls. So like how does that make any sense? Do you want me to go to another state and go through a toll to pick someone up to drive them to my state?

Not to mention the state that the pick up is in is also one of the worst states for driving rates in the area. 28 miles for $15 is barely above $.50 a mile. That is barely above expenses. Between all my expenses, it cost about $.30-$.45 per mile roughly.

LYFT is refusing to work with me.

I was on a ride and we were sitting in traffic that was not shown on the map. There was a vehicle accident and traffic was way longer than expected. My ride that was supposed to be 30 minutes and 20 miles turned into over an hour. Because of this I ended up running out of gas. Because I ran out of gas. LYFT is requiring me to get an inspection from a separate state that is not valid in my state and is not valid on LYFT policy or lyft.com.

I don’t know what to do. I have been trying to talk to Support since June 14. They refuse to acknowledge their own policy. They refuse to acknowledge that I live in the state I live in. They keep putting me into a different state that has different documents that are not valid in my state . They are trying to get me to get an inspection that is not valid in my state and they will not listen to me or read their policy.

I am a disabled military veteran, and this is my only source of income because I cannot hold a normal job with normal hours. I need some way to fight this because LYFT is being unreasonable and will not listen to me.

Rider canceled right when I pulled up to the pick

They didn’t even come outside or anything. The second I pulled up they canceled the ride. After I drove over 20 minutes. Luckily it wasn’t actually 18 miles. it was only about a 13 mile pick up. But it’s the fact that I drove 20 minutes to pick them up just for them to cancel. Like I’m sick and tired of people canceling right when I pull up. You had plenty of time. Why would you cancel right when I pull up? That’s just a crappy move.

What the heck?

I just accepted an order. Good pay. Everything was going good until it wasn’t. It was a stacked order. $20 for 5 miles roughly. Sounds good. It was over three dollars a mile. Then it went sideways after I got to the first delivery.

The customer walks up to my car and bangs on my window. The second I stop. Didn’t even have time to put my car in park because the second I hit the break and stopped. He was banging on my window. Like if I had any nerve, I should’ve screamed at him, but I love my job too much. But one of these days I’m gonna say screw Uber and I’m going to cuss one of these people out.

Because like what clicked in his mind to make him think that it was OK for him to bang on my window? Hopefully he was the one that tipped. Because if he didn’t tip and he did that that is extremely crazy. But I doubt he did tip because if he has that type of attitude, I don’t think he would’ve been the one to tip.

He was literally only .3 miles away from the restaurant too. So it’s not like he waited a super long time and should’ve been upset. I literally only had to drive like two minutes to drop off his order.
