Ideally I would like to be able to select the text and click "read aloud," but im fine with copying and pasting it too.
I’ve been using Alexa to control my smart plugs and bulbs, but since I got an Apple TV I wanted to try out HomeKit. I thought some linkind smart plugs and Govee bulbs. The smart plug was advertised as for “apple home” even tho I’m pretty sure it’s matter only. The bulbs say matter.
My Apple TV 4K does support thread, and it is on my schools WiFi that requires a MAC address registration. My phone is on the same WiFi. But even with the powered on bulb / smart plug right next to my phone and tv, they can’t connect.
I looked it up and it said I don’t need to register the MAC address of the bulb but I still did, yet it did not work. Can I just not use HomeKit at all? Do I need to avoid matter, are there non matter ways of connecting to HomeKit?
Before on Alexa I first added all my bulbs and plugs to their designated apps, registered MAC, signed into WiFi, then added the app as an integration with the Alexa app. Anything like that?
I run sunshine on my Kubuntu PC, but you need the desktop open I feel like it would make it kind of vulnerable. I dont have a virtual monitor or dummy HDMI so my game is shown on the screen, which isnt a big deal for me.
Anyway, my PC will be unlocked, is there a way to auto lock it if smeone for some reason tried to use it while im away? Idk how to differentiate between the physical mouse input, but maybe that could work and if not, then keyboard input?
Not sure if this is the best sub to ask, since I dont have a full homekit set up. However I am trying to switch from Amazon Alexa to Apple. I got an Apple TV box, specifically model A2169, on tvOS 26.5.
I read online that this model could be used as a hub, so I dont have a homepod.
I think to some extent it is working, since if on my phone I tell siri to turn on my tv, it turns on.
However I have tried every method I can think of to have my TV turn on at a specific time, but it never works. Am I doing something wrong or do I need a homepod to do this?

I found what I was looking for in the shortcut apps, but it makes no sense that most of the Apple TV commands are completely absent in Apple Home automation. Given the fact my Apple TV is my hub, one would think it could store my automations that I want to it run that involve itself. So basically if I ever fall asleep and my phone dies or I am connected to data not wifi, but shortcut wont be able to run since its not connected to my wifi? And this could easily be fixed if the shortcut ran from the hub which is always on the wifi but whatever.

The exit node can only run 360p with no issues, and 720p has a bunch of freezes. My main PC has 200 mbp/s download and 40 upload. My phone on just data has up to 30 mbps download and 4 mbps upload. Does anybody know of any fixes for this? Does this happen with any other cellular service providers? I feel like being forced to use an exit node is adding some delay but even still 360p seems very low.

In 26.1.2 I was using the mod skyboxify along with this resource pack: https://modrinth.com/resourcepack/chase-the-skies
It provided the very nice sky gradient in the first picture.
But even before I found that, Sodium Extras had settings like Atmospheric Fog - Sky End which could change the level of the sky so it wasnt such a sharp contrast.
But now in 26.2, Sodium extras does not have this feature and the resource back does not work, despite Skyboxify being updated.
Did Minecraft change how the sky works again? Is there any solution to help restore the gradient?
I do weights mainly at the gym and dont really like doing long periods of cardio as its kind of boring, unless im running outside which I do occasionally. But I feel like I should not cut out cardio all the way since it is good for your heart and cardiovascular system, so what if I just did something like sprints? I dont think it burns nearly as much calories but that is not what im aiming for anyway.
I would like the ability to change audio level per application from my desktop. The default media player widget does not have a audio mixer option.
Does anybody know of a simple widget that could just display the recognized applications? I know there is a sound control widget, but it is too big and if you try and make it smaller, the thickness of the border makes it impossible to see the actual volume sliders.
I know other media player widgets have a volume slider, but those usually have other issues that make them not usable for me.

My deck is based on the refold.la deck that was popular a few years ago, not sure if it is still recommended. Since then I added some cards from other decks and about 500 words from mining.
But when I took a look at the Kaishi 1.5k deck, I saw the front was just the kanji spelling. This would def make it easier to be able to read it from the kanji, but I was always told to focus on immersion and dw about kanji.
Since some words sound the same, in those cases I am able to answer based off the kanji, and I always write the kanji a few times when given a new card. But for like 80% of my cards I dont think I could answer from the kanji spelling alone.
I think its too late to switch how I grade these cards, what should I do? Should I just study kanji with another deck?
edit: I turned off auto play for audio a while ago so I always give myself a chance to try and guess just from the kanji, but It is very hard to do so.
I get very confused when I research how to make things transparent, there are many method it seems and I dont know what is the best.
In the picture, you can see the widgets are already slightly transparent but it is very hard to notice. Is there anyway to change the transparency? Also I see some people with a transparent console and launcher, how is that achieved?

I recently got a Supernote Nomad, which is like an ereader that you can write on. It has an app called NetVirtualDisk that uses WebDAV to connect to remote storage.
I also was planning on moving away from google calendar, and I was wondering if this could be possible some how.
Self host calendar / task app
Have homelab automatically fetch the day's tasks and events
create a PDF or image that has those things listed
Move it to shared folder for Superntoe to access
Maybe this can run automatically at like 5 am, that way at the start of the day I can see my tasks and cross them out on my Supernote. (I will still manually need to mark as complete on what ever calendar app I use, but thats fine with me)

Does anybody know if there is a theory like this? I thought about this after watching SpookyDood's Kressel video and soyadesu's "December is a human"theory.
Soyadesu claims the Roaring Knight was born from December's body that has lost its soul. Kressel states Kris was born with the red soul and was made to be our vessel all along. But along the way Kris became someone of their own and wanted to break free.
Since Kris cannot get rid of the soul without dying, maybe they aim to became a being like the Roaring Knight (assuming the roaring knight is December's soulless body). The Pink boss fight in chapter 5 shows that the body and soul have differing personalities and goals. So I think it could make sense the reason Kris is teaming up with Carol is to be able to become their own being without the control of the soul.
