Is it normal for reserved SETC passengers to have other passengers boarded without seats?

I recently travelled on a TNSTC/SETC bus , traveling back to Bangalore.During the journey, the conductor stopped at multiple bus stands and allowed additional passengers to board even though there were no available seats. Some people were eventually sitting on the floor, which made the journey quite uncomfortable and crowded.

My main concern is that, since we had booked reserved seats, I assumed the bus would only accommodate passengers according to the available seating capacity. There was also no clear information about the additional passengers or their luggage, which made me uncomfortable about the safety of our belongings.

Is this normal/allowed on SETC buses? Can passengers board without a seat even when the bus is fully occupied?

I'm not mentioning the bus number or conductor details, but I can share them if needed. Just want to understand the rules before booking next time

Should I wait for Big Billion Days or ask parents for a 30k loan to buy an iPhone 17 now?

Hey everyone, I’m in a bit of a dilemma and need some perspective.

I’m currently saving up for an iPhone 17. I have 40k saved so far, but I’m still short by about 30k. I’m debating two options:

Wait for the festive sales (Sept/Oct): I know there are usually decent discounts during events like Flipkart’s Big Billion Days. However, I’ve heard mixed things—some say prices don't always drop as much as expected, or that the "best deals" are hard to snag.

Buy it now: I’m considering asking my parents for the remaining 30k to close the gap. The problem is, I’m really hesitant to ask them for money for a luxury purchase when I know I could eventually earn it myself.

Finally placed at IBM! 12.25 LPA

The journey wasn't easy. I faced final-round rejections from Deloitte, PhonePe, LSEG, and Dell.

Seeing people around me in college who didn't grind much getting 10 LPA+ offers made me feel that it was all about luck. The placement journey was really tough.

Earlier this year, I was confused between accepting a 4 LPA offer from Cognizant or taking a chance on the IBM internship.

I decided to take the risk and continue with the internship. In the end, it paid off, and I received the PPO.

Hi everyone,

I recently completed my internship at IBM and received a PPO for a SDE Cloud role. I wanted to get some clarity on the compensation structure from current IBMers or anyone who joined recently.

CTC Breakdown:

  • Annual Fixed: INR 11 LPA
  • Premium Component: INR 1,00,000 (One-time)
  • Settling Allowance: INR 25,000 (One-time)

A few questions:

  1. What would be the realistic monthly in-hand salary (post-tax/PF) for this bracket?
  2. When does the Premium Component (1L) usually get credited? Is it with the 1st month's salary or after a few months?
  3. For the Settling Allowance, do I need to submit any bills (like relocation/brokerage), or is it a flat payout?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hey folks,

I'm a 2026 grad doing internship in IBM and my manager recently gave the green signal for my intern-to-FTE conversion at a large tech MNC in Bangalore. The hiring team then contacted my TPO, and my TPO said the CTC is 11 LPA, but they didn't give any clarity on the actual breakdown.

I am too shy to ask for the salary breakdown from the other full-time employees on my team, so I need some help from anyone who has an idea or was placed previously.

  1. What does the base vs. variable split usually look like at this CTC?
  2. What is the approximate in-hand salary per month after PF and taxes?

Thanks!
