RIP Orbi

Why would netgear sunset wifi equipment (Orbi RBK753) by stopping software support? There is no explanation other than corporate greed. Netgear is not going to get another dime from me for the rest of my life.

Test track for your system

According to Gemini, Solo piano music like "Home" by Stephen Moccio is the ultimate torture test for an audio system because it relies entirely on micro-details, absolute silence between notes, and long, decaying acoustic resonances. Give your system a test.

Parenting advice

Not sure this is the right place to ask for parenting advice but here it goes. I have a high school freshman. I took him to see trains when he was small and he become an avid railfan and transit advocate. He would want to take Amtrak whenever he has a chance. He is an all A student (well, amost) and plays violin in school orchestra. His career goal was to become a civil engineer so he could help Amtrak to fix its aging infrastructure (in his words). He wants to pursue double major in Civil Engineering and Music. However, I just find out now he wants to become a train engineer. He said he looked into job posting from railway companies and he would qualify after he graduates from HS. He told me he is seriously considering it and skip college. While i don't want to crash his dream but I wants him to receive college education at least. How do i change his mind? or should I just wait and see?
