How does car insurance work in Australia and can dashcam footage be used as proof?

I've moved to Australia recently due to work, previously I was working in America, now I'm here so everything is new to me: atmosphere, temperature, culture more specifically work culture. So adjusting to a new place is a task that I'm working on; but with all the other things I’m sorting such as. Housing, insurance, groceries, timings and most importantly car that I've recently bought ( hybrid one) for daily commute to work as petrol prices are increasing day by day. I might be quoting a lot of things. Maybe it's because my mind is dealing with plenty of stuff, but there are few things that are in mind: First thing, So how are things dealt with when it comes to insurance for cars? How do accidents papers work here? Do insurance companies take dashcam footage as a proof, as I've installed dashcam, already. When I was in America it helped me with insurance things once. My car was bumped from the back and others blamed me so I had my dashcam footage that helped me escape that situation. Having said that, another concern is about the driving license thing. I do have an international driving license that I will be using for now until other paper work is sorted. What are the other legalities that I should keep in mind?

New LLC owner here — what insurance did you start with?

I recently formed an LLC for a small mobile detailing business and now I’m trying to figure out the insurance side before I start booking more clients.

The problem is every article and insurance site keeps throwing different coverage types at me and I can’t tell what’s actually necessary in the beginning versus what’s more important later as the business grows.

Right now I’m mainly seeing people mention general liability, commercial auto coverage, tools/equipment coverage, and business property insurance. Some people make it sound like you need everything immediately, while others say they started much simpler.

I’m also confused about timing. Do most people get insurance before taking their first client, or is it normal to wait until business starts picking up?

Would really appreciate hearing from other small business owners about what coverage you started with and what ended up actually being useful.

First time switching from Android to iPhone 17 (used) and the battery drain is giving me anxiety..

First time switching from Android to iPhone 17 (used) and the battery drain is giving me anxiety..

I’ve always used Android phones, but about a month ago I bought a used iPhone 17 from my cousin because she gave me a really good price. The phone was still in great condition and I was super excited to finally try iPhone.

Honestly I love almost everything about it, but the battery is making me anxious. I feel like it drains really fast even with normal stuff like Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, and YouTube.

I already tried lowering brightness, dark mode, background app refresh off, etc. Battery health still says normal.

Now I keep checking the battery percentage all the time and it’s kind of ruining the experience for me 😅

Did anyone else feel this way after switching from Android?

How I Saved 10+ Hours Per Video & Boosted Engagement with an AI Editing Agent (NemoVideo Case Study)

Hey fellow content creators,

I know the grind is real when you're starting out. Every minute counts, and often, video editing eats up a huge chunk of that time. I used to spend 15-20 hours on a single 10-minute video, which was unsustainable for consistent uploads.

I started experimenting with an AI video editing agent called NemoVideo, and it's genuinely transformed my workflow. Instead of manual cuts and captioning, I now just upload my footage and chat with the AI, telling it what I want. For example, I recently used it to create a short-form video for my channel, and here's how it helped:

• Automated Cuts & Pacing "Remove all silences and awkward pauses." The AI did it in minutes, giving me a much tighter edit.

• Dynamic Captions "Generate pop-up captions with a bouncy animation." This is usually a huge time sink, but the AI handled it instantly, adding a professional touch that significantly increased viewer retention.

• B-Roll Integration "Insert relevant B-roll footage at these timestamps." It even suggested some stock clips that fit perfectly.

The result? I cut my editing time down to about 3-5 hours per video, freeing me up to focus on scripting and promotion. More importantly, the polished look and dynamic captions led to a noticeable increase in watch time and comments on that specific video.I'm sharing this because I genuinely believe tools like NemoVideo can be a game-changer for new creators looking to scale their output without sacrificing quality. What are your biggest time-sinks in video production? Have you tried any AI tools that have actually made a difference? (Full disclosure: I'm involved with NemoVideo, but I'm sharing my experience because I truly believe in its potential to help creators like us.

What do customers say about the durability of Fabletics fitness sets?

Fabletics durability

I visited a fitness clothing shop to compare workout sets two days ago. I wanted something durable. I wanted something comfortable. I wanted something that lasts after many washes. But when I checked… I felt disappointed. Some sets looked good but felt thin. Some leggings felt stretchy but not strong. Some prices felt high for unclear quality. I could not trust them. I could not decide confidently.

Then I visited another shop in the same area. Some fitness sets felt better but still mixed quality. Some tops felt supportive but leggings felt average. I remembered a workout set I bought before that lost elasticity after a few months. That made me hesitate even more.

To check more variety and options while scrolling many online marketplaces including alibaba… I also looked at customer reviews for Fabletics fitness sets. Some customers say the fabric is soft and comfortable for daily workouts. Some say leggings stay in shape after washing. Some reviews say durability is good if washed carefully. Some also say some sets lose tightness over time with heavy use. Some mention quality feels better in newer collections and more average in older ones. This made me excited but also confused again.

Now I am thinking durability depends a lot on usage style and washing habits, not just brand name. Online reviews help more than shop talk. Local lets me feel fabric directly. Both feel useful in different ways. What would you do in my place?

Do stores offer discounts on yoga leggings during holiday sales events?

Yes, stores do offer discounts on yoga leggings during holiday sales events, and this is actually one of the best times to buy them. I visited a sports shop to buy yoga leggings two days ago. I wanted something comfortable. I wanted something stretchy. I wanted something affordable. But when I checked… I felt disappointed. Some leggings looked good but had no real discount. Some “sale” tags felt confusing. Some prices still felt high even during promotion. I could not trust them. I could not decide confidently.

Then I visited another shop in the same area. Some leggings had small discounts, but mostly on old colors or leftover sizes. I remembered missing good deals before because sizes sold out fast during sales. That made me hesitate even more.

To check more variety and options while scrolling many online marketplaces including alibaba… Yes, holiday sales events are one of the most common times for discounts on yoga leggings. Stores often reduce prices during Black Friday, New Year sales, mid-season clearance, and festival promotions. Some brands also run online-only discounts where leggings are cheaper than in physical stores. Some popular brands like Nike, Adidas, Gymshark, and Under Armour often offer seasonal markdowns, while premium brands like Lululemon may have limited-time outlet or clearance deals.

Now I am thinking holiday sales are the best chance to get good quality leggings at lower prices, but sizes and colors can be limited quickly. Online gives more deals. Local lets you check fit. Both feel useful in different ways. What would you choose in my place?

The beers that are not available online in the region: how it can be frustrating that they are not everywhere.

I had the Red Horse Beer during my trip to the Philippines and liked it because it was very different in its flavor, which was strong and unique. I arrived at home and did not find out that I could actually have it locally. Begin searching with the thought that everything you need is online now, and have found out that it is not the case with alcohol.

Effectively visited the most common avenues, the local liquor shops do not import it, specialty importers do not stock it, and the online alcohol retailers do not have a large international selection. Even discounted Alibaba thinks it is possible that bulk importers have something to choose from; however, no alcohol is sold there. Most of the platforms will not handle shipping alcohol internationally due to the regulatory complexity of the process.

It is at this moment that you understand that the regional culture of beer is, in fact, still a regional concept. Globalization has not completely hit craft and local beers. You are able to have Heineken anywhere, except for regional favorites that are geographically bound. There are genuine barriers in the form of import regulations, shipping constraints, and market demand.

It is more frustrating having to know what you want but not have access to it. It is not a secret, but it is popular in the Philippines, but that does not mean international distribution. You are left with the recollections of a beer that you liked and no way of re-living it without traveling abroad. I had come to terms with the fact that I would only have Red Horse when in the Philippines. It is now a part of the traveling journey and not something that I can carry back home. Probably that would be better, at least leave it something to look forward to, and not a matter of routine. And are there other local beers that they found elsewhere that they cannot locate back home?

This is insane in so many levels!

Saw it somewhere. And this is somehow heartbreaking, even it's true or not.

iOS 26.5 battery drain is genuinely awful — anyone else or is my phone just dying?

So I'm on an iPhone 14 Pro Max, battery health sitting at 89%. Before this update my battery was honestly still really solid for a phone that's been around a couple years. I could get through a full work day and still have like 30-40% when I got home.

Ever since updating to 26.5 though... man. I unplugged at 100% this morning around 8am, and by lunch I was already at 48%. And I wasn't doing anything wild — Spotify on the way to work, some Reddit scrolling, texting, maybe 20 minutes of TikTok on break. That's it. That's not 50% of my battery worth of usage lol

The other thing that's bugging me is the overheating. Or not like overheating overheating, but the phone gets noticeably warm doing basic stuff now. Especially while charging or if I have the camera open for more than a couple minutes. It was never like this on 26.4. Not even close.

I went into battery settings and nothing obvious is jumping out. No rogue app eating 40% in the background or anything like that. Everything looks... normal? Which almost makes it more frustrating because at least then I'd have something to fix.

I figured ok maybe it's the usual post-update indexing thing, give it a few days. It's been almost a week now and honestly it feels like it's getting worse not better. Yesterday I had to top up at like 3pm which I basically never do.

I've been reading through some older threads and it seems like iOS 26.5 battery drain and iOS 26.5 overheating are pretty common complaints, and honestly battery life worse after iOS 26.5 seems to be hitting a lot of different models not just mine. So at least it's probably not my hardware dying? idk

Helping my girlfriend find the right printer for film positives, not sure we’re looking at this correctly

my girlfriend Dana has been getting serious about screen printing over the past several months. She started with a basic single color setup in our spare bedroom and has gotten good enough that the equipment is now the limiting factor not her skill.

….the main issue she keeps running into is film positive quality. she’s printing transparencies on a regular inkjet and the ink density isn’t consistent enough to get a clean exposure.

We’ve been looking at dedicated screen printer options for a few weeks now and the range is pretty wide. everything from entry-level inkjet conversions to RIP software setups to whatever is listed on alibaba which at least shows you what manufacturers consider the baseline spec for this kind of output.

right now she’s leaning toward an Epson EcoTank, specifically because the refillable ink system makes sense for the volume she’s printing but we’re not sure whether a standard EcoTank with good ink is actually sufficient for film work or whether there’s something specific about how a screen printer needs to lay down black that a regular photo inkjet just can’t do.

Is ink density the main variable here or is there more to it than that? Any advice appreciated, she’s been patient with this process and I’d like to help her get it right.

is it weird for an adult to collect Hello Kitty stuff? Asking genuinely and nervously

Okay so this might be an odd post but i feel like if anywhere is a safe place to ask this it's here. i'm in my late twenties and i recently realized i've been quietly accumulating Hello Kitty items for about a year. it started with a Hello Kitty basket i bought because it was genuinely useful and cute and then kind of spiraled from there in a low key way.

i don't think of myself as a collector but i also keep buying things so maybe i am? i guess my questions are whether there's an actual collector community around Hello Kitty and character merchandise generally, and whether there are things a new accidental collector should know about like which items hold value, which lines are considered more collectible, that kind of thing.

i've been browsing around looking at merchandise options online but places like Alibaba didn't help much. i couldn't really tell what's considered authentic or worthwhile from a collector standpoint versus just regular merchandise. Also genuinely, is there any social weirdness around adults collecting this kind of thing or is that mostly in my head? i feel like the answer is that nobody cares but i wanted to ask people who actually know this space. Sorry if this is a silly post. Thank you to anyone who responds kindly

Why a cargo cover matters more than you think on road trips

After taking a few road trips, you'll quickly realize how a cargo cover is one of those features in a car that most people will overlook until they actually do take a road trip.

After stopping at a gas station during a trip or parking in a crowded rest area, everyone has had that little moment of awareness when you realize that everything in the back of your trunk is now visible to everyone outside of the vehicle. That's where a cargo cover comes into play. A cargo cover is basically just a simple panel or retractable shield that will hide anything that you may have in the back of your SUV, hatchback or wagon.

On a road trip, a cargo cover is not just about privacy; it is also about keeping the back of the vehicle visually quieter while driving on the road. Instead of looking into the back and seeing a bunch of bags, snacks and other random items stacked on top of each other, you will see a much cleaner, less distracting area when you look in your rearview mirror.

An additional note i found about cargo covers is how much more comfortable driving long distances is when the trunk is covered. When a trunk cover is used, it makes the cabin area feel a little more enclosed, especially when other random objects would fly around your trunk during braking and/or cornering.

Some cars already come with a built-in cargo cover, while others don’t, and you don’t really miss it until you travel without one. i’ve also seen different styles while browsing around, including general product listings online like alibaba, which mostly just helped me understand how many variations exist rather than anything specific.

It’s one of those small details that quietly makes road trips feel more organized without changing anything major about how you travel.
