I need a better helmet though, I’m struggling to find one that has the vibes I want

I was born and raised in West Virginia and I adore WoD so this is just some ramblings about my own headcanons about the state in relation to Vampire specifically.

In canon West Virginia is Fae territory and is home to the Duchy of Winterthorn (which I recommend reading about them if you like changling lore and blue collar stories as based on my short skims about them they seem to be loosely based on the Blaire mountain worker revolt) and that’s all that is said about the state on the wiki.

So for fun I’m going to go more in-depth.

If you are going by the vampire population rules of 1 vampire per every 100K humans in a city not a SINGLE CITY in West Virginia would have any vampires as the most populated city in WV, The capitol Charleston has an estimated population of 48,000 (rounding up)

Meaning that in all likelihood you will not find any Camarilla or anarch cities in the state.

Now does that mean it is completely devoid of vampires? Probably not.

In my own personal opinion the state is a sort of no man’s land, overlooked by all major factions in vampiric society as simply the population is too low and the cities too poor to justify any sort of claim, if I had to guess I’d say there is probably a dozen or so vampires in the entire state.

Most likely just kindred who are Aurtarkis and have come to the state specifically because it has no real vampiric presence. Though I could see a few Sabbat packs calling the state home, not staking a claim in the state but more so using it to lay low.

As for what clans would call the state home the most obvious choice is Gangrel, I’d imagine that most of the kindred population in WV are Gangral packs who roam the woods. Though I’d also argue that a lot of Brujah also probably call the state home, as West Virginia surprisingly has a very large punk scene which an Appalachian Brujah could easily slide into. I could also maybe see like a single Ventrue living in one of the major cities as WV has a massive class divide and opioid problem and a Ventrue would absolutely benefit from that situation financially.

And for fun let’s say fuck it and say moth man is a tszimice.

In all honesty there are probably a lot of Garou who call the state home, Pentex absolutely has its hands in the coal mining industry and so I can see Garou packs roaming the state very easily.

Kind of weird they have Ted the scarab and not Jaime but I thought the trilogy was alright, the 2nd movie with black beetle was pretty fun
