Titrating questions

Edit: My intention of this post isn’t to say I want to move up right this second or even after my next dose , I was getting insight for when 2.5mg does not work for me anymore, whenever that time is, and what everyone else has done etc. I plan on staying on every dose as long as I can!

Hello, I just wanted to get some experiences from other people, I go through fifty410 and I am currently on 2.5 mg of tirz My start date was June 11 and so far I’m down about 13 pounds. This Thursday will be my fourth shot and they want me to up my dose to 5 mg after this next shot, but I’m not sure if I’m ready yet and going from 2.5 to 5 is a big jump. They also wanted me to split dose, which I initially decided against just because of my job, so I’m taking the full 2.5 mg dose once a week. I don’t have many side effects. I get nausea here and there but it’s very very minimal and usually the day after shot day around midday, I am fatigued, but that’s about it.
Since I have the advantage of being on compounded instead of the quick pens, I of course can pick my dosage and I wanted to see if anyone else instead of doing the jump from 2.5 to 5 if they titrated up more slowly, like 2.5 to 3 or 3.5 etc until they got to 5 mg and how did that work for you, side effects etc?
2.5 mg is still working for me so I plan on staying on that as long as I can but I have noticed besides the first week when it’s getting closer to my shot day, I am ravenous so I think once I end up stalling out on the side of my dose, but I just wanted to get some opinions before I get to that time.

Thank you in advance!! (Also this is cross posted!)

Under eating

Hello, I am going into week 3 of compounded tirz 2.5 mg and it’s working well, the thing is I feel that I’m under eating. I’m averaging about 1,200 cal a day. Sometimes it’s more, but more than often it’s less than 1,200. Now I’m not doing it purposely, I just don’t think about food and get full very fast (the literal point of the meds lmao). I don’t want to lose my hair or any of the wonder affects of too much of a deficit. Any ideas to help?

Also, has anyone on a GLP, realize that they have tiny bruises/bruising easily?

Starting first dose

Hey guys I got approved for Tirz and they want me to do 1.25 mg twice a week to equal out to 2.5mg a week. Does anyone do two doses a week, how does it feel in comparison to the one shot a week?
TIA

What’s your experience?

Hi everyone! I’d really appreciate any experiences, advice, or insight. Thanks so much!

I’m a 22 y.o female with PCOS. My main symptoms are absent periods, ovarian cysts, high DHEA-S, and some insulin resistance. My estrogen and testosterone levels are normal, and I don’t really have a lot of the typical PCOS symptoms.
I’ve been looking into starting a GLP-1 medication, specifically tirzepatide, but I’m honestly pretty nervous about both the side effects and the potential long-term effects. Ive also heard about Reta but that scares me even more. I’ve spent years trying different diets, exercising consistently, and doing everything I was “supposed” to do, but I’ve had very little success losing weight.
I’m considering paying out of pocket for tirzepatide and would love to hear from others with PCOS who have experience with it.
A few questions:

  1. If you’re paying out of pocket (compound or brand name), where do you get it from? How much do you pay? Does the cost increase as your dose increases? How long have you been taking it?
  2. What side effects have you experienced, and what helped you manage them?
  3. Are you taking any supplements alongside it? If so, which ones and what benefits have you noticed?
  4. What advice would you give someone just starting out? Any mistakes to avoid or things you wish you had known sooner?
  5. If you had missing or irregular periods before starting, did losing weight and/or taking a GLP-1 help bring your cycles back? Did it improve your fertility?
  6. Do you plan on staying on it long-term, or eventually coming off? If you’re stopping it, what are you doing to help maintain your results?

Thank you so so much 🫂

TTC/AITA/VENT

Hello, please delete if not allowed.
TLDR: My fiancé says he wouldn’t be upset if I got pregnant right now, but the second I bring up fertility medication because of my pcos, he completely shuts the conversation down. I don’t want to pressure him into having a baby before he’s ready, but at the same time, I don’t want to keep putting off something that’s incredibly important to me.

I’m a 22-year-old woman who was diagnosed with PCOS based on ovarian cysts, absent/missed periods, and elevated DHEA-S levels. Other than that, I don’t really fit the typical PCOS picture, I don’t have facial hair growth, and my testosterone and estrogen levels are normal.
I’m engaged, and I’ve wanted children for as long as I can remember. We don’t use any form of birth control, and while I believe I may have had a chemical pregnancy a few months ago, I generally don’t ovulate on my own.
My fiancé is currently in college and has about two years left. We both work full-time, and recently he surprised me by saying he wouldn’t be opposed if I got pregnant right now. That caught me off guard because he’s usually very quick to say, “Not right now.” Because of my PCOS, I told him that all I would need to do is message my OB-GYN and I could likely start a medication like Clomid or Letrozole to help me ovulate. As soon as I brought that up, he immediately shut the idea down and said, “Not right now,” which felt completely contradictory to what he had said just a few days earlier.
I understand that I’m young, but part of me wants to try the medications now—not only because I want a baby, but also because I’d like to know whether they work and what our fertility journey might look like. The reality is that fertility treatment can take time, and if there are obstacles, I’d rather know sooner than later.
We have a great support system, stable jobs, and a good relationship. I only work two days a week, which would also make balancing a child more manageable. However, whenever I try to talk to him about having children or trying fertility medication, he shuts the conversation down and refuses to discuss it beyond saying that now isn’t the right time.
The difficult part is that I don’t want to wait indefinitely. I know many people prefer to wait until their late 20s or beyond, but I’ve always wanted to be a younger mom. I also know that with PCOS, getting pregnant isn’t always immediate, even with medication. I don’t want to put off starting the process only to find out years later that it takes much longer than expected.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? How did you navigate having different timelines for starting a family with your partner? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
