Heres a completely worthless and small nitpick from a gymbro: Muscles growing through damaging and healing muscle fibres is actually a myth

New studies suggest that hypertrophy (muscle growth) is caused by mechanical tension applied to the fibers, which is facilitated by muscle recruitment. Micro tears (muscle fibres getting damaged) is just a by product of this process, not the main cause.

This is why even in lab controlled environments causing micro tears to someone and waiting for them to heal don’t cause any hypertrophy and by extension strength growth.

In short executing a physical task hard enough to send enough signals to your brain is the main cause of muscle growth and muscle damage is a by product of the process. If we lived in a world where micro tears didn’t exist hypertrophy would still exist.

Why do people think Hokazono took a break because of health issues when he already told us the reason why a while ago

He took a break because the Gotham needs him.

[Hated Trope] After everything, we are back to a slightly better status quo from the beggining

The Boys: After Homelander is defeated Vought, the main big bad corporation villain and the main cause of Homelander’s existence stays undefeated. It’s only a matter of time before another probably even stronger Homelander is created and only systematic change at the end is government being more cautious and there being a small group of “good” supes ready to fight endless fights while casualties grow more and source of the problem remains unaddressed.

While some argue it’s “realistic” that system doesn’t change and the main person responsible remains unpunished. When Stan Edgar essentially says "you can't change the system" and being proven uncritically correct is the exact opposite of satire. Far from critiquing those in power, it simply repeats the ideas people in power want to push onto us. That's not satire, that's propaganda.

Arcane Season 2: Main class war between two cities is shortly set aside for one common enemy. After fighting side by side, oppressive state of Piltover lets a single person from Zaun in to the council. Not only this is an empty reward because council makes decisions with a voting system, making having a single person from Zaun ultimately meaningless as they are guaranteed to get outnumbered in every decision council decides to make. We are also yet to see any other systemic changes from happening.

Am I the only one who thinks Hiruhiko put a more impressive performance here?

Bro JUST started to use a sword and outplayed the Hotel owner and go toe to toe with Chihiro, who has been using the enchanted blade for 3 years now. He then touches a enchanted blade that he wasn’t even compatible with for the first time and go toe to toe with Chihiro (while not using his actual sorcery once) who spent 3 years mastering his own custom made enchanted blade that was literally made JUST for him to counter the most powerful EB. Yes he losses in the end but considering all this context makes me think Hiruhiko was more impressive and makes me nervous how powerful he’s gonna be when he comes back.

This is how Shiba would move if he could use his ability without having to be effected by it

He can turn someone small and increase their weight so anyone he touches insta die. If he’s able to select which areas he can affect he can turn someone’s head so large they get crushed by the weight etc. Obviously he doesn’t need to be op but id love to see his ability be used more creatively in the future, like momentarily increasing the weight of his hands to punch etc.

(The Boys) Anyone noticed how this season is set in only 3 locations?

Vought Tower
Boys hideout
Wherever the new location Boys will be in for their operation that episode. Mostly being indoors or far away from civilians.

It really feels like they run out of budget or something. It makes it feel a lot less like this world is alive or lived in. The only thing I remember is that scene of a woman being taken by the police but a single scene is too little for 6 episodes of supposed civil unrest. Even season 4 had public protests and fightings happening, people getting in Starlights office to make a shooting etc. Now the only thing we have is Ashley pointing at a screen and saying “67% of Americans disapprove of this” and nothing else.

Its crazy to me that HOMELANDER DECLARED HIMSELF AS GOD TO THE WORLD and we get absolutely NOTHING outside of someone pointing at a screen and say “people aren’t happy”

Since Kripke is keep bringing up budget on interviews I’m afraid we will never see how much this world is being affected by the crazy political unrest thats happening right now, and “do people expect nothing but fight scenes” are you kidding me Kripke?? When was The Boys a battle oriented show? The amount of big budget Supe brawls can be counted with a single hand and majority of fights are brief 1v1s like Deep vs Noir. This isn’t Invincible, no-one is expecting an episode of none stop action. Shows main catch has always been The Boys getting in to wild wacky impossible situations and watch them figure out how to get out of it.
