Wildly anticipated, under £49k Skoda Peaq disappoints - starts from £52k+luxury car tax!

As European automakers keeps disappointing and Chinese offer better quality cars, better warranties and better prices - mid-2026 Skoda excited many with what seemed imposible - a genuinly competitive, comfortable, European, 7-seat, full-size EV SUV under £49k!

Unfortunately, after 3-months of promises, Skoda Peak launched in the UK from £52k+luxury car tax! That is at least £3k above anticipated price! While many families in the UK were hoping for a genuinly good and affordable Skoda Peak range under £50k, Peaq SportLine 90x starts at £60,380 + luxury car tax offering nothing of an affordable kind.

What are your thoughts? Would you rather buy £60k Skoda Peak with 3-years warranty or something like Kia, Xpeng, Aion or Leapmotor D19 with 7-year warranty, better tech for significantly less?

Why is Xpeng stock down 42% after launching GX, X9 (in Europe), L03 and G9L?!

Many people here love Xpeng. Xpeng objectively produce good EVs that are also good value (at least in most countries)... How come Xpeng stock is rougly 42% down YTD after what looks like good new models and incredible demand?!

Why is Xpeng experiencing such an incredible demand, yet delivering very low numbers?

What happened to Zeekr in the UK?

I wonder what happened to Zeekr Europe and the UK? In 2025, Zeekr announced aggressive growth/expansion into Europe and the UK, but to date, it is only 7X that is somewhat selling in Europe.

No 8X, 9X or 009 in Europe... No Zeekr models in the UK... Sales are also much lower than Leapmotor and Jaecoo/Omoda... Is Zeekr losing any growth and relevance in Europe? Why did it fail to launch in the UK in 2025?

Leapmotor C16 and D19 in Europe and the UK?

This is a follow-up post I made about 3 months ago. There seems to be no info re Leapmotor C16 nor D19 in Europe nor the UK, regardless of Leapmotor claiming Europe and the UK are among the top priorities.

It would be great if Leapmotor or Stellantis folks could share when people can buy these EVs in Europe and the UK!

Lenovo Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology Driver Issue

It seems that somewhere between Lenovo and Intel/Windows updates, Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology Driver is causing Lenovo laptops to turn brain-dead!

Laptops throttle to 29-45% of max single core CPU usage AND throttle to only 0.40 GHz! Essentially, laptops turn nearly brain-dead. Taking ~10 mins to restart and multiple minutes to open or use any apps! This is a critical issue as people are completely unable to use their devices!

Kia winning Zeekr 009 customers in Europe?

Kia PV5 7-seater is now available in Europe! It is significantly better and cheaper than VW, Mercedes MPVs. Zeekr 009 is in high demand in Europe, but Zeekr is not looking to launch it here any time soon! Will Kia win Zeekr customers?

Obviously, it is not as luxurious as 009! Most reviewers say it's the best EV MPV they have driven in Europe, and the price starts from €39k!

What are your thoughts? How do you think it compares to Zeekr 009? If you cant get Zeekr 009 in Europe, would Kia win you over?

Xpeng delivers 32,158 cars in May, but 2026 H1 down 22.59% year-on-year!

There was another post earlier today, where people were questioning if it is accurate and what were the Q1, Q2 YoY results. I find this EV outlet quite informative

Overall, Xpeng really needs to step up its investment in the EU and the UK! In most places, people can rarely get anything other than G6. Xpeng EV's are overpriced, high-demand, low availability and poor customer experience. It often feels like in the EU Xpeng customers are more invested in Xpeng than local dealers!

Many customers in the EU have been complaining that G9, X9 and P7+ wait times have been 4-12 months.

Xpeng and all EV OEMs always emphasise batteries. It's the holy grail!
2026 will likely go into history as the year with the most EV battery buzz! But this one seems legit and 3rd party verified!

Per NotATeslaApp, Tesla M3 is getting rougly 50% discount for a brand new EV in Canada, while there are no competitive offers in the UK!

Just last week brand new Tesla Model 3 Premium RWD in Canada was $79k (CAD). Earlier this week, Tesla dropped the Tesla Model 3 Premium RWD to $39K CAD ($29K USD)!

Tesla M3 Performance also got 17% discount in Canada.

As an investor, I am looking at Xpeng numbers and Leapmotor numbers and can't believe that Leapmotor is selling D19, on a 1000V architecture, that is similar to Xpeng GX, but announced 6 months ahead of Xpeng and almost for half the price of GX!

Then I read: The company (Leapmotor) delivered a total of 71,387 vehicles in April, up 73.95% year-on-year and 42.69% from the previous month, according to data released by the company on Friday.

Is Leapmotor the new underdog sweetheart of China?
