Caprese Sandwich Recs ITP during dinner hours?

Niche request. I know it can be easily made at home but for the days like today when I’d rather not, what’s a consistent spot for a caprese sandwich (bonus points for anywhere that’s open 5-9/10).

Doesn’t have to be extravagant or made with top notch ingredients, just straightforward and satisfying.

Still dreaming of this Biscoff beaut 1.5 years later..

The Biscoff lava cookie was my intro to Crumbl. I still kick myself for not ordering more (didn’t know back then that they rotate flavors weekly). Idk what it was about it, but I guess the simplicity locked me in—warm, gooey, and straightforward.

I know it was a Birthday option to vote for, but didn’t look like it made the cut on the voting board. Do any insiders know if it’ll ever make a return? Or does any other fans have a solid copycat recipe they’ve enjoyed?

Seeking General Understanding of Myself and Why I’m Always Anxious [astro.com]

Hi all. I’ve never received an astrological reading, so I thought I’d share my chart here. I’m hoping to gain a general understanding of what makes me tick, so to speak, with a few specific questions:

  1. Is there a greater calling (career or non career specific, like a location, a role in life/someone’s life, even a hair style, etc.) Im unaware of that I should open myself up to?

  2. Anything I should consider (or avoid) during the upcoming Saturn retrograde?

  3. Im curious if there’s anything here that might explain why I’m always anxious since I was a preteen. Sure, I’ve had my fair share of human experiences and traumatic events, but I’ve always felt like there is something deeply innate about my anxiety (other than biology, lol).

Thank you kindly in advance!

Gua Sha Services ITP

Hi! I hope this isn’t too niche of a request. I’m hoping to get recs for reputable spas or massage clinics ITP that offer gua sha services.

I expect most won’t offer the service adhoc (ie without a facial) but I don’t need much—just a simple, straightforward gua sha service or standard facial with gua sha without all the high-tech add ons.

I found a few that appear to offer it, but they’re mostly same-day/walk-in chains (like Heyday). While I’m sure those options are convenient, I’m looking for someone more reputable/reliable and isn’t going to try to push for a ton of add ons.

Thank you in advance!

HVAC issues temporarily remedied but not fully resolved

I mainly need advice on how to approach the conversation with our landlord.

LSS, we’ve had issues with our hvac since last year (different landlord—our current landlord purchased the property last fall). Last landlord got a new unit which inevitably has had even more issues. Repair company said they think there’s a leak, but can’t find it with dye, so they need to do a pressure test which would require us to vacate for 5-10 days to complete, not including however many days it’ll take after they identify the issue to resolve what it actually is (could be a simple coil fix, could be more intensive and span additional days).

We live in GA and are in a heat wave. We also have a dog, and indoor temps can’t rise above 78 degrees or our pup is at risk of heatstroke (our landlord isn’t understanding towards this). We can’t take PTO and our jobs are in-person only. Dog friendly hotels and airbnbs are hard to come by and cost more than our monthly rent for the proposed length of time. Our windows are painted shut (historic home) except for one room, which isn’t close to our bedroom. Our lease and the state laws explicitly state the appliances (including the HVAC) must be maintained and repaired in a timely manner. It feels like no genuine repairs have been made, only bandaids that aren’t working.

I feel like we’re at a crossroads where we all just want this to be resolved but my husband and I financially can’t cover the costs or take the time off it would require for my landlord to go the route they’d like to go on. I’m unsure how to best advocate for ourselves and what options I could present to my landlord.

(GA) A/C on the fritz, unsure of my options

Hi all. We began renting our current home last year with an HVAC unit provided. It broke, our former landlord fixed it. Our current landlord bought the home in the fall,we resigned, and a few weeks later it started acting up again.

The repair company thinks there’s a leak, but they couldn’t find it with dye, so they’ll have to do a pressure test for 5-10 days (which we have to be out of the house for since it’d require the unit to be off for 5-10 days). We also have a dog, so temps higher than 78 and no A/C is not an option.

It’s lost its freon again. I can tell our landlord is frustrated by the situation (as are we) and wants to have it resolved (ie pressure test to identify the issue), but it’s not feasible for us to to take off that much PTO (we both have in-person only jobs) and dog friendly hotels and airbnbs are expensive and hard to come by last minute. Essentially, it feels like the only option we’re being given is to “take a vacation” so they can do a pressure test, but it’s not feasible for us financially or time-wise, and this issue seems to be getting worse the hotter the temps are (and it’s only the beginning of summer).

To add to this, a portable A/C or window unit isn’t possible because it’s a historic home so all the windows are painted shut except for one (not anywhere close to the bedroom).

Our lease explicitly states they must maintain the appliances and units present upon signing, and GA law requires landlords to do the same. Do I have a right to ask them to say their solution isn’t feasible for us? Are they required to cover the costs of lodging? If they’re unwilling to cover costs, should we suggest they install a new unit since trying to identify the issue would cause some form of displacement? (A hotel would cost more than our monthly rent).

Processing hurtful comments said in an episode

My loved one is currently struggling through an episode, the first in several years. I guess I’ve been lucky that I haven’t experienced combativeness or painful comments up until now, but I’ve definitely experienced them in the last week. I’ve made the difficult decision to create a boundary with them and explicitly request space as I focus on my own well being, but that hasn’t stopped them from messaging or leaving voicemails.

Some comments have been direct (insults, verbal aggression, etc.) and others are seemingly more innocuous to them as they appear to be unaware of recent or current events (e.g., asking how one family member is doing, despite the fact that she passed a couple of months ago which absolutely wrecked me. My loved one wasn’t manic at the time and was/is? well aware of but I’m guessing they can’t recall in this state).

I’m really trying not to hold it against this against them, especially because I know they’re not stable, but I’m finding it difficult to separate their actions towards me in mania and their actions when (eventually) stable. They may not remember saying all these things, but I will.

I know there’s no cut and dry resolution; it’s just really tough.

Age old question…Vertuo vs Original

We’re a pretty straightforward coffee drinking household. We have a French press (slightly broken) and a single serve pour over (cumbersome). I’d like to treat us to a nespresso, but can’t decide between the two machine options.

Since we don’t typically make espresso or lattes at home, I’ve been leaning towards the Vertuo for the versatility of choosing between a standard coffee or an espresso. However, our friends have tried selling us on the Original based on Vertuo pod prices alone.

I looked up the prices of V pods and it seems like there’s a 55 cent difference between the Original and Vertuo standard barista creations, etc. I know 55 cents adds up, but I expected it to be a $2+ difference.

Any advice?

Unsure whats worse: monthly or quarterly periods

I tagged this as rant/vent but open to everyone’s thoughts, opinions, suggestions, etc.

I (finally) got officially diagnosed with endo last year after my laparoscopy after nineteen years of debilitating periods and pain, and yearning for someone to believe my hypothesis that I had endo (so grateful I finally found my current OB who believed me and ordered the procedure).

I’m in my mid thirties, have been on BC for many years, and my periods and the endo pain and symptoms started to get progressively worse in the last year. I also have PMDD and the mental and physical symptoms were taking a significant toll on me. My OB suggested I try skipping my period for three months then allowing a breakthrough period before starting a new set of three packs. They wanted me to try this route before considering a hysterectomy.

I’m on day two of my first breakthrough period and I feel terrible. I can’t tell if my symptoms are genuinely worse or if they feel worse simply because I haven’t had to deal with them for three months. I haven’t experienced this level of bloating since my laparoscopy and my cramps are debilitating—I’m practically waddling every time I walk.

I’m sure it’s probably difficult to gauge because everyone and every body is so different, but does anyone who’s gone this route have any thoughts or insight to share? Did you feel like your symptoms were worse when skipping/allowing a breakthrough, or do you think it’s primarily the mental aspect of reliving something you haven’t experienced in a while? (Or a mix of both?

Public Pools (ITP or beyond for the right fit)

Hoping to get some recs ahead of summer for pools that don’t require a neighborhood membership. I know there’s some public pools like the one at Candler Park, but wanted to see if anyone had a favorite recommendation. The JCC also looks nice.

Ideally looking for one ITP, but open to other areas. Just looking for a relatively chill spot to cool off and enjoy the water.

Thank you in advance!
