Proposal for a pregnant minifig (Now with both images!)

Okay, so, I've been irritated FOR A WHILE that there is no good way to make a pregnant minifig. I find all three of the available options (three at the left) pretty uninspiring. I don't know anyone whose bump has gone up to their clavicle, I'm pretty sure no one who's still walking around has a bump that their hands couldn't reach the extent of, and...the square one is maybe most correct for Lego, but...it's not minecraft. The arms aren't square, why would the belly be!?

Anyway, here's my proposal for a pregnant minifig: a hip accessory with a bump. If we can have a duck tail, I feel like a baby bump shouldn't be outside the realm of possibility.

Bonus! The legs have complete mobility!

Did I include this in my Lego Ideas build (Summer at the cottage), I sure did. Can't get away from my opinions! If you agree, feel free to vote me up. But if Lego doesn't bless me with this, you can bet I'm going to be 3d printing these and putting them up on Etsy. ;-P

Is there a way to make scenes that doesn't result in this?

My computer takes approximately 1000 years to render an image, which leads to me needing to create multiple scenes at once so that I can render while I sleep. Which leads to this kind of thing (figures I've posed to sit are standing! Through their seating surface! I've tried unlinking my minifigures so that I can change one and keep the other, but it doesn't seem to work. What do y'all do?

Microscale Modern Lake Cottage

I've spent the past six months building a minifigure scale version of this modernist lake cottage, and whipped this microscale version up yesterday in a dedicated afternoon. Turns out I learned a lot about the rules of lego while building an ultra-accurate version of this building!

^((Shoutout to the Lego Builder's Handbook coming in clutch on concepts of scaling builds. I read it last year and didn't even see this project on my horizon, but apparently retained a fair bit!))

Vote for Queer Lego families!

Vote for Summer at the Cottage on Lego Ideas!

I spent a lot of time on the building for this Lego Ideas submission but I spent equally as much love on the two families staying there. Two sets of queer parents and their families enjoying time in nature and with each other!

I'm a queer parent myself, and I'd love to see our families normalized in toys our kids play with!

Summer at the Cottage halfway to 1,000!

My first submission to Lego Ideas! I am so happy with it. I was surprised with how many little details I wanted to build and add before it felt as realized as I wanted it to to submit. The kid and parent are working on a drawing that resembles one my daughter recently made. I added some glow-in-the-dark tiles with fireflies on them, and the kiddo reading by the fire has a book about cottage architecture and is dreaming of her own future cottage.

Barlochan Lake Cottage in Lego!

I started this build from the architect's project page, then I scoured the architect's Instagram in an attempt to figure out which of the close-up shots were of this property so that I could piece together some of the missing bits. Still got the initial entry roof line QUITE wrong before I found a front photo in a news article.

Figuring out how to make three sets of 4x6 doors look like they were different heights was by far the most interesting element of the build!

Left my dark ages because of Ideas. Five years later: submitted to Lego Ideas

My first set as an adult was the Medieval Blacksmith. I've been building pretty continually since then, but this build is the first one that felt like something original that I'd want to share with the world.
