The movie never shows when he was assimilated but many speculate it was sometime while he was locked in the tool shed. I think he was assimilated way before that.

The last time we see the real Blair is when he uses the computer to foresee how long it would take the Thing to infect everyone in the world if it reached a populated area. He stares down in despair, and the scene slowly fades to darkness. He was completely assimilated after that scene. It fades similarly to the scene where the assimilated dog goes into a room to infect the first person, who is shown only by his shadow.

This is one of the movies where that the characters are intelligent and always make rational decisions. The only exception is Blair which doesn't make sense because before he "lost" his mind and destroyed all the machinery, he was arguably the smartest person in the group because he was the first to understand the nature of the creature. Literally, even Windows is more rational than him. Instead of contacting the government and the scientific community to quarantine the area, he would rather shoot and axe everyone, even though he knows that wouldn't kill the Thing, as we know because he wrote that in his report. If you assume Blair was not assimilated, his behavior doesn't make sense, because he knows that destroying the equipment and killing everyone would only help the Thing.

The thing destroyed the machinery because it wanted to use the parts to build its own flying machine. Its ultimate goal would have been to escape to a populated area and begin assimilating people on a much larger scale. So he hit 2 birds with one stone: use the spare parts to build is flying machine and eliminate the possibility of spreading the news outside the research station.

What makes this even more suspicious is the timing. He destroyed everything right after Fuchs told MacReady that the creature was alive, leaving the others no room to contact anyone outside the research station.

The helicopter as is is of no use to the thing because it covers a limited range like roughly 370 miles. Antarctica is thousands of kilometers aways. Its meant to be used to fly to nearby research stations so itc annot use it to escape. Plus, there is a high risk that it would crash due to the weather condition and freeze again for thousands of years before it could even travel 370 miles.

The noose was created by the Thing. Why would Blair try to kill himself when he knows that even if he is infected, that wouldn't kill the Thing or stop him from turning into it? The Thing made up that noose to trick MacReady into thinking he was Blair, because the Thing would not kill itself. Of course, MacReady looks at him suspiciously and doesn't even acknowledge that he might be suicidal, because Blair wouldn't do that, since Blair noted in his book that the Thing doesn't die like that.

It’s pretty obvious that the alleged posession of Colby during their episode at the haunted school with KallMeKris and CelinaSpookyBoo, they don’t seem willing to push the boundaries as much anymore.

Now, lets say you use a JWT token for authentication and authorization and you don't store session data in the backend system for example in the server or an external storage system like a database. The state only exists in the token being sent by the client. This is definitely a stateless server but would this still be considered a stateless system because we do not store anything in the backend? Or is still considered a stateful system because the interaction still relies on session data from previous interaction to determine how to process future interaction.
