To those who don't know, Dave was drumming in the Rush tribute band La Villa Strangiato until this year.
But he seems to have been replaced without an explanation I can find.
Just wondering if anyone knows what he's up to now?
Having started in February 2021. 4 months later in June, the build was finished.
This was not only the first build I decided to add figures to. But also the first serious weathering attempt too.
To make the base I coated a display base in PVA glue and once it started to cure, lightly sculpted it to create an uneven, but flat road section.
The model was glued to the base to prevent any future mishaps and the final dusting was carried out in place.
I hope everyone had enjoyed following along with this build, even though it was finished years ago. I still feel like this was my peak and I've never quite been at the same level since.
Adding Driver and Co-Driver figures to the Supra.
These were left over drivers from the old 80's Tamiya car kits. The headphones came from another kit. Possibly an Impreza or 206 WRC kit.
I scratchbuilt the glasses with some wire.
Not far to go with this now. Just mudflaps and wheels
Following its bath in my paint stripper mix. The body came out ready for the modifications.
Pic 2 show the cast resin parts drying after their bath in soapy water.
Pics 3 & 4 so the use of the templates included in the transkit to cut out the roof vents and the hole for the fuel filler.
5 & 6 are the 3d printed roof vents and the euro style rear plate insert test fitted into the body.
Finally pics 7 & 8 are test fitting the 3d printed suspension components with the chassis piece. You can also spy in the final pic the continued work on the blanking plate after removing the molded in fuel tank. After sanding and i small bit of filler. I made the missing chassis rail with some plastic.

Based on the responses to my question yesterday I've decided to do regular posts of this build that I completed in 2021.
This is a transkit from KMP, I believe their first full transkit that uses the Toyota Supra from Tamiya to convert to the 1988 Safari Rally car.
The base kit I had previously started but only to the point of painting the body and chassis parts. Therefore I placed the body in a mix of 50% IPA and 50% Brake fluid (Pic 4) to strip the paint.
Pics 5 & 6 show the blanking plate I glued in place after cutting out the molded in fuel tank. I used sprue melted in Tamiya extra thin cement as the filler.
Pics 7 & 8 show the 3d printed roll cage before and after freeing from its supports.

With the Delta 4wd still not finished and whilst I did paint up a Porsche body to decal on my holiday, its now not going to be done before months end for the Group Build.
So with that in mind, I was going through my phone of old builds and found what I still consider my best build to date from 2021. Back then I only posted on my old FB account and 2/3 groups on that platform. And I wondered if here would be interested in daily or weekly progress posts even though its an old build?
The 2 pics included are the before and after, but there were some issues I had to overcome along the way that could make for some interesting tales. Let me know what everyone thinks.
Got back from my holiday today.
Only manged to get 3 and a half bodies decalled whilst away.
Time to wrap up the Delta 4wd before I make a proper start on these.
Decided to paint up a few bodies for planned projects and take them to decal on holiday with me.
I've got a question for those with more experience than me with Belkits models.
I've built a few before, like the old 2010 Fiesta, Manta and Metro kits with my most recent build prior to this was the 2017 Fiesta WRC. Never really had an issue with their kits other than basic inaccuracies with some historic subjects.
But yesterday I started preparing the body of a more recent release, the Ascona 400. And I'm actually shocked this is a modern tooling. The plastic is really thick with massive ejector marks, badly fitting bumpers, strangely moulded panel lines and varying panel heights.
Is this representative of the more modern toolings from Belkits? Like the Hyundai i20 and Yaris Rally1. Or is this just issues with the Ascona one? It's kind of made me wary to pick up more in the future tbh
So I enjoyed my 8v Delta conversion so much I decided to build the earliest Group A Delta I could.
Using Reji's HF 4WD conversion and another Hasegawa Delta.
I've sent a couple hours after work all week slowly getting the resin body prepped for primer.
2nd pic shows before any clean up.
After cleaning up the flashing and casting marks, the first thing that had to go was the awful lower grills. I supplanted the ones from the plastic body in and it's had a couple passes of filler.
Next up was inserting and blending the bonnet/hood vents. Funny that Reji used a slightly improved yet eerily similar method of representing these as the ebay special 8v conversion did. After that I had to score the missing creases into it.
Finally and what I've been working on today, cutting out the moulded grill detail ready for the etch parts. I've still got some filing to do in this area.
Finally before primer can go on. I've got to cut the hole in the C piller for the fuel filler etch piece.
Not long finished this build.
Kit is the Hasegawa Delta with an 8v conversion set I picked up from Ebay a number of years ago to convert the 16v kit into the 1989 Monte Carlo Rally car.
The 8v bonnet/hood needed a bit of work to make it smooth and blend the etched vents into it seamlessly.
I also used a couple bits from a Renaissance etch set as well as their 5 spoke Speedline wheels.
I had to modify the suspension struts to lower the ride height to make it more Tarmac spec looking.
Finished the interior today and got the body on.
Only a small list of things left to do to get this project done.
The decals laid down quite well for being a non-brand make.
A few cracks in the main stripes which is something I always struggle with on Deltas. But these are limited mostly to the Dark Blue and Red areas which I think I have the correct paints to touch up with.
Took a little longer than planned to get the Fiat 210 paint put on. Had to make an emergency purchase of another can. I need to trim the painted from around the windows due to masking the interior off.

I've also got the underside painted. Next is the decision on whether to correct the interior mistakes Hasegawa have made or live with them.
So I made a tentative start on this during the final stages of my Peugeot build. I basically cut the hood out of the body and started filling the resin replacement.
I'm using the Sanremo '89 boxing from Hasegawa and a conversion resin & decal set I brought from Ebay years back to make the Monte Carlo '89 version. The vents for the hood are photo etch and it's taken the best part of a week to get them blended with the hood. The centre of which had sunken and needed a lot of filler. Today I got the final primer layer down.
The body is almost prepared for primer.
I'm also using some resin wheels from Renaissance models. A couple needed some serious clean up on the inside. The centres are now painted.
The final pic shows all the reference material I got out to browse through. In the end only the event dvd and the Delta Vol1 book have provided helpful to this project.
