Title: Best driving school in Sharjah? SDI or something else?

Hi everyone!

I'm planning to open my driving file soon and I'd really appreciate some honest advice from people who actually got their license in Sharjah.

Which driving school do you think is the best overall in terms of:

- High pass rate

- Good instructors

- Less waiting time for classes and tests

- Overall experience

I'm mainly considering SDI, but I've seen mixed opinions.

If you studied at SDI:

- Would you recommend it?

- How was your experience from start to finish?

- Did you pass on your first attempt?

- Is there a specific instructor (especially a female instructor if possible) that you highly recommend?

I'm also open to recommendations for other schools if you think they're better.

I'd really appreciate honest feedback before I enroll. Thanks!

Swollen tonsils and ear popping after trying to remove a tonsil stone with a Q-tip

Hi everyone,

About a week ago, I noticed what I think was a tonsil stone and tried to remove it using a Q-tip. I was probably a bit too aggressive and focused mostly on one side.

It’s now been 7 days, and both of my tonsils seem swollen, although the pain is mainly on the side where I was trying to remove the stone. The pain isn’t severe, but it’s a dull ache that’s still there.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that when I swallow, I sometimes feel a popping sensation in my ear on the same side. Also, if I get dehydrated, the throat pain seems to become more noticeable.

I don’t currently have a fever, and I’m not having trouble breathing. I’m just concerned that it’s been a week and the discomfort hasn’t completely gone away.

Has anyone experienced something similar after trying to remove a tonsil stone? Could I have irritated or injured the tonsil, or does this sound like something else?

Thanks for any advice or experiences.

3 days late period (PCOS), right-sided pubic/pelvic pressure + cramps for 5 days really anxious

Hi everyone,

I’m 21F and I have PCOS. For the past few months my cycle had surprisingly become more regular (around every 28 days), but now I’m 3 days late.

For about 5 days I’ve been having this weird pressure/cramp feeling in my pubic/lower pelvic area, mostly on the right side. It comes and goes sometimes it feels like spasms or dull pressure, and other times it’s more noticeable but still not unbearable.

I’m starting to get really anxious because this is different from my usual cycle symptoms. I normally get more back pain, but this time it’s mainly this right-sided pelvic discomfort.

No fever or severe pain, but I keep overthinking it because of the delay + the one-sided pain. I also have PCOS so I know irregular cycles can happen, but I was getting more consistent lately so this feels off to me.

Has anyone experienced something similar (late period + one-sided pelvic pressure with PCOS)? Could this still just be hormonal/ovulation/period-related cramps?

I’m trying not to panic but it’s been stressing me out for days.

Do medical students have any paid opportunities during breaks?

Hi everyone,

I'm a medical student and I was wondering what people usually do during their semester or summer breaks.

Are there any paid opportunities for medical students, such as working as a doctor's assistant, research assistant, clinic assistant, medical scribe, or anything similar?

If you've had a paid position during medical school, how did you find it, what were your responsibilities, and was it worth it?

I'd appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thanks!

ARAFAH

Hey girls 🤍

I wanted to ask something before يوم عرفة. Has any of you made duaa on Arafah day and genuinely saw it get accepted later? Like for marriage, grades, health, anything important?

Also… is there a “proper” way to make duaa so it gets accepted? I keep feeling like maybe I’m doing it wrong or missing steps 😭

If you have any tips/routine for Arafah day (fasting, timing, الصلاة, dhikr, how you make your duaa list, etc.) please share 🥺

Health anxiety as a med student

Med student here and I genuinely need advice on how to deal with health anxiety before it takes over my life.

I’m getting exhausted from constantly interpreting every physical sensation as something serious. The more I study medicine, the worse it gets I know the list of differential diagnoses, and my brain always jumps to the worst-case scenario first.

For example, I’ll get mild chest discomfort or pressure and immediately think “heart attack,” even when I can logically list other benign explanations. It creates a loop where I can’t tell what’s real concern vs anxiety anymore, and it’s affecting my focus and peace of mind.

Has anyone in med school gone through this? How did you stop catastrophizing every symptom and break the cycle of checking/spiraling? What actually helped long term?

Reliable & Trustworthy Cleaning Company Recommendations (Monthly Subscription)

Hey everyone, I’m looking for a reliable cleaning company/service that offers monthly subscriptions or regular cleaning plans, preferably around 20–25/hour.

I’d really appreciate recommendations only from people who have personally used them and had a good experience. I’m specifically trying to avoid fake reviews/ads because a friend of mine hired a company before and later realized some of her stuff had been stolen from her house without noticing at first.

So trustworthiness and professionalism are the most important thing for me. If you’ve used someone reliable, please share the company name + your experience 🙏

Hey guys, I’m a uni student in Dubai and I literally have 0 driving experience 😭 like I’ve never driven before at all.

I wanna start learning but most driving schools seem super expensive. Does anyone know any budget-friendly driving schools in Dubai that are actually good for complete beginners?

I also heard that people with basically no driving knowledge should go for the unlimited package because you might need extra classes/tests, so now I’m confused if that’s actually worth it or not 💀

If anyone has recommendations, experiences, student discounts, or schools to avoid pls let me know 🙏
