I guess I'm returning my Arctis Nova 7x

I can hear the electronics in the right earcup. It's a constant and high pitch sound that does not go away until the headphones are powered off. Until I can find another headset that does not do this, I guess I'll be going back to my Arctis 1 wireless. It's quite a shame as I just got used to the soundstage of these headphones, and they're super comfortable. Also, the GG software is extremely accessible with screen readers, making it 100% usable for blind people. The same cannot be said about any other headset software.

implicit differentation is going to be the death of me

I can't figure it out! I can get the first derivative, but the homework wants me to do the second derivative while replacing y' with the given value. It'll be something like -2x^3+5y^3 = 9 or something like that.

I am not really good with math rules, and I need simplicity since I can't remember all of the steps. Can anyone help here?

Which restaurants are opened during summer A, and when?

I live on campus, but I live far away from the restaurants and places they have here. I can't find a definitive list of hours of operation on the student union website.

I'm only looking at the restaurants on campus since I can't drive, so I'm trying to find good food that I can walk to.

Every time I look up the etymology of a person's first or last name, they will end up talking about their given culture's family traditions or foods in the next conversation

Without fail, if I look up a person's last name to see where it may have originated from, the person in question, who had never mentioned anything about their heritage, is suddenly interested in talking about it around me. It's kind of cool IMO.

Obviously, I'm not going around telling people that I looked up their names, but I find it interesting that a hundred percent of the time after looking up the etymology of someone's name they start talking about their culture, exxactly from the same place which the name is derived.

AI is taking breaks, and it's glorious!

Does anyone else have this thing where Google AI just decides to go on strike for a day? It's like I get the old Google back with the featured snippets and everything. It's great, then AI comes back again the next day, deciding on its own accord that one day or another it'll just take a break.

Proxmox virtual environment hdparm not setting disk spindown timer on startup

If I do

sudo hdparm -S 241 /dev/sda, it works fine. If I add the rule to the config and reboot, the system does not spin down the drive. Everything is connected internally, so no USB madness here..

Which tool is best in the post office?

A hammer. They're great for nail orders, and even better at nail delivery.

Are the dorm's ovens this slow?

I am brand new to using the oven for anything meaningful until I moved to the Nike dorms.

Are the ovens supposed to be this slow? A pan of pasta that should have taken forty minutes to heat up was still frozen in the middle after an hour, and still cold on top after an hour and a half. The French Bread pizzas, which should take twenty minutes, took closer to forty. At least the broiler works well.

Should I submit a work request, or are they all this slow? I know that apartments use 208v instead of 240v, but this doesn't seem right.

Is there a way to make MathCat better for me?

I absolutely despise the zoom layered thing. I have to hit down arrow so many times just to get to what I'm looking for, especially on piecewise functions. I also cannot copy a math expression from the website, as it shows up as a blank space.

Also, when my braille display encounters math when connected to my computer, it gets stuck on it until NVDA restarts and refreshes everything.

Does anyone have any suggestions to make it work better? I'm in an engineering degree. Quite ironic I know.

TLDR: MathCat's integration is not my cup of tea.

I suck at factoring when a > 1

I can factor when a = 1 in a quadratic. Otherwise, it's out the window. Now I need it for evaluating limits in my calculus class where they're in fractions. I've always just used the quadratic formula, but I don't see how I could get that to work in this situation.

trying to find things to do as a blind guy

Hey there,

I'm a blind guy who just started UCF for computer engineering. I'm in the academic village near the RWC. I need to find restaurants and people nearby so I'm not putting myself in the solitary confinement of my room.

I would look at the shuttle schedule, but it's not accessible. I'm also still learning my way around, and I don't know what's opened at what times.

If there's any computer geeks who are really into hardware, hit me up. I have nothing better to do.

Anyone had weird issues with ASRock motherboards specifically?

I've noticed on several ASRock motherboards now that with any GPU setup, dummy adapter, display, or lack there of, ASRock motherboards and NVDA do not get along. NVDA is unable to keep focus with what's going on on the system, causing OCR to get stuck in one spot. Things that use page down for longer jumps in scrolling don't scroll like they should. Programs like Virt Viewer won't grab keyboard input. This is across several motherboards, CPUs, GPUs, CPU brands, storage, Windows installs, etc.

I know it's a long shot, but to anyone who has had similar issues, how did you fix it? I know it's a motherboard thing because it went away when I switched the same exact PC parts to a Gigabyte motherboard. Sadly, that board had coil whine and several other annoyances.

I'm a little confused with these move-in appointments. How strict are they on summer move-in? Do you park somewhere else after the fifteen minutes? I'm just confused :)

I currently have the Olympus LS14, but the time and date settings plus the need to constantly change out AA batteries is a little annoying. I've been looking at the Zoom recorders, but I don't know which to choose for a good high quality voice recorder. I just want something that'll sound good on the field and such.

If there are better options that have full accessibility, please met me know. I've been happy with the LS14 after upgrading from the DM720 due to the 720 having compression that could not be disabled.

I'm a transfer student moving in the summer, and I've been assigned my room. During the roommate selection, only one out of like five people even responded to me as I tried to see what they were all about. On room selection day, I chose an empty room and was transferred to a full apartment the other day. I've messaged two of my three housemates through the housing portal, and have gotten nothing back from either yet. Is there a better way to talk to these people? I've never gotten a message through the portal except for what UCF has sent me, so I don't know how reliable this portal really is.
