save button should be elevated to top level in the UI in between or next to the upvoting / downvoting buttons

I accidentally upvoted a post from my second account

Which is part of the reason why I wish the save button was right there in between the upvote and downvote buttons. Reddit themselves welcomes users to have more than one account. Having a top level save button right in between the upvote and downvote buttons would help with the issue whereby upvoting may unintentionally be used to quickly "save" or "log" a post whereas, the save button takes a little extra muscle memory and 2 or 3 clicks. My idea is still that the save button should be top level. And/or - instead of a voter manipulation warning, the warning should say something to the effect of "hey it looks like you may have accidentally upvotes a post twice from both of your accounts - we took the liberty of *saving* those posts for you and removed the upvotes to avoid escalation toward warnings. If you want to upvote the post in question, make sure to only upvote from *one* account, otherwise, repeatedly upvoting from more than one account could result in a more formal warning" or something to that effect. My intention again was not to try to manipulate votes. It was just kinda a second nature thing.

This is part of the reason I believe the *save* button should be elevated to top level right in between or right next to the upvote and downvote buttons. Ibstead of orange or purple it could be bright green or blue or something so it still visually feels like the post is interacted with

Pixel phones should have a 90 percent battery option

80 percent gets into territory where it starts affecting day to day use adding a bit of frustration, and 100 percent isn't the best for long term, so how about a 90 percent option - better than 100 for long term, but not as frustrating for day to day use

My idea is that Google should allow users to add one or two third party links to it's app link grid

On most Google properties there's a little grid button to click in the upper right that displays a grid of Google apps and services. My idea is that Google should allow users to add a few 3rd party links to that grid. At least in my case it seems like a friend of mind trusts that area to click. The issue is, while many Google services are of good quality, some competitors offer services that have a few more functions that make them more fully featured. My idea is to allow a user to add a few links to 3rd party services into that grid. It could even specifically say third party with a little icon or something, but at least once it's there, some folks who only trust tapping there could learn that *sometimes* non-google apps and services can be of use.

My idea is that the Google Chat edit button should allow image+file edits too, like slack, teams, etc allow

I'm glad they finally added the edit button to Google Chat, allowing for editing our sent posts/messages.

My idea is that Google Chat should expand the edit button functionality to make it compete better with slack, teams, discord, etc - allowing a user to add images/files if we choose, without having to send a new message. This cuts down on notification overload when a picture/file might need to be only shared quietly in the background. Obviously if someone wants to send a new message+notification they can, but sometimes we just want to share something passively, for the recipient to discover on their own time, without sending a new message. Thank you

my idea is that google chat should allow adding images to sent messages

I'm glad they brought the edit button to all users a couple years ago. However that only allows text editing. It would be nice to make the edit button more fully featured to include the option of adding images.

other similar platforms that have this functionality include slack, microsoft teams, discord, telegram, etc, so it's time they bring it to Google Chat.

Any other microsoft teams chat stans?

I find Microsoft teams chat to be the most fully featured chat platform. It's partially why I have started teams chat threads with close family members. I find it a relaxing way to share occasional updates, media, messages etc.

Curious if there are any other teams chat free users out there who feel a bit evangelical about the platform.

active noise cancellation earbuds

kinda underwhelming or?

thoughts on anc active noise cancellation earbuds?

It seems the basic idea is they remove low frequency low level "white noise" like the hum of air conditioning or maybe they might slightly help on an airplane.

But for a loud ass gym with loud ass music, $30 anc earbuds help maybe 3% - barely more than non-anc buds. They do kinda maybe feel like they go beyond non anc earbuds reducing low levels of the music like the bass a bit, but the overall effect feels maybe like it only helps like "less than 5 percent" so essentially not much. I mean, I suppose that's better than nothing for $30 anc earbuds.

I guess what I'm getting at is $50 or $75 or $100+ dollar anc earbuds - are they gonna just basically have the same anc or with slightly more "help" at 10 or 15 percent instead of just 5 percent? Or does any anc earbuds go beyond "helping" and really reducing decibels so you can actually listen to quiet songs as if you were walking outdoors on a quiet day ...

Have you ever felt like making a post to get a few comments you could reply to about the community's topic but don't want your post to be in the limelight after a few minutes? Currently you could make the post, reply to some of the comments, and then either kinda have that post still showing or delete it and still communicate with a few of the comments. But once it's deleted, there's no way to undelete it. The terminology I think that makes most sense is what gmail confidential mode calls it: "remove access / renew access" but in this case it would be more like

"remove community access" or "renew community access"

The idea I have would be a more dedicated way to remove community access to the post, with the option to renew access if you felt like it. So instead of just a "hard delete" option with no "undo" capability, my idea is the ability to "soft delete" / "recycle bin" or just "remove access" to the post from the subreddit view, while still allowing the few responders and yourself to interact with the post. But then, if you did feel like renewing access so more could see it and potentially respond, they could do so. Depending on when you renew access, it might not be at the top anymore, but it could still be searchable and browsable even if it's not at the top. So others could chime in, if you felt like allowing them to do so.

(unpopular?) opinion: visible magsafe qi2 on a case is better than case makers that hide it

spigen does it and it bugs me. magsafe /qi2 magnets should be shown off, even if they blend into the case. They don't need to be high contrast. They can be low contrast and tastefully blend in. But they should not be outright hidden. it's tech for the greater good. no reason to hide it. It deserves to be shown off. it's function *and* form, together. Curious about community feedback ..

My idea is google calendar should have ability to set event details as private to me only while the event itself and its title can still be seen by whoever it's shared with

I suppose I could make a Google doc and just put a link to the private Google doc in the calendar event but it'd be nice to have ability to have inline content there that only the event creator can see.

Currently there's no way to leave an image comment responding to posts on our own profile. My idea is to allow users to post images in the comments on our own profile.

Reddit has a unique interface and it's conducive to all sorts of stuff, not *just* commenting on other's posts, but even our own "profile" area, whether it's to do some journaling or whatever, it can be of use. If it's a rate limit thing, then rate limit it, but at least allow it.

On my pixel 8 for example, it does not stay held down for more than a few seconds, whereas on other devices it seems to work more normally. But wouldn't it make more sense to make that a tap and release button instead so there would be zero issues on all devices. Touch screens can be kinda wonky so relying on the user to hold down that button, which btw is quite a small area of the touchscreen, I feel makes it a bit faulty. Would like to see them add a tap and release option, even if they leave the current method as the default. Or at least make the button larger? So it's easier to hold down on devices with this issue.

Like obviously the default can remain mostly googleable but I feel like there should be dedicated, either communities, or you know areas within a community where people can type stuff without it being googleable if that makes any sense

(unpopular?) opinion: a smaller dip style pool is better than a larger pool? Easier to maintain, and for people who like to take a walk / jog and then come home and just take a dip to get a bit of sweat off and cool off a little, it's more easy to maintain. I guess I think I'm maybe learning that with a pool, brushing the sides of the pool to remove microbials is just part of pool ownership right? And then if you wanna turn the temp slightly up, you gotta do more frequent brushing. Less water, less work. Less spending on chemicals etc. I dunno. I mean obviously if money is literally no object then I guess the larger pool is nice, but I feel like even for like someone who would be like "wealthy" or whatever, who still kinda maintains their own pool, ... I dunno I could go on. Curious about what the community feedback might be.

Looking for anc active noise cancellation earbuds in a case that has a USB type A tail built into it. Kinda like how jlab has made them, but they have been transitioning to having usbc tails lately. Now, hypothetically, I'd be cool with USBC, as I'm all about having everything be USBC. The issue is that all the gym treadmills still have USB type A. And because of that, I would prefer an earbuds case with USB A built in. I've had my jlab ones with the little reversible USB A tail built in and it's been great. I just leave it in the gym bag and never bring it home to charge it because I just plug it in on the treadmill while walking. But they don't have anc active noise cancellation, and the newer jlab ones that do all have the type C tail. So yeah, if anyone can make any suggestions. Thanks. Would prefer below $40 or $50. Thanks

-usb A tail built in

-active noise cancellation

-under $50

Even if it's got a USBC port, it'd be nice if there was a tiny nook in it to hold its USBC cable. That way you've got it with you wherever you are. Whether you wanna plug it in to a treadmill to charge while you're walking / jogging so then you can always just leave it in the gym bag instead of having to even think about bringing it home to charge
