Am I the only one who liked the Og groups styling

Lots of people say that they look artifical, cheap and like costumes. But I think they aesthetically work and fit the story. Its not trying to be realistic fashion, its trying to be rebel and fantasy fashion while still not being to saturated/distracting at the same time.

The outfits don’t take attention away from the characters face or other attributes they just look like addons. Their hair is not to big or vibrant, u could mistake that for their real hair especially evie who’s hair looked black at times. Dove pulled off the purple just as well if not better then she pulled off the blonde.

In the first movie Evie had a very unique evil princess like style.

Mal looked emo/rebelish which I found interesting. The only mal outfit that kind of bugs me is 3 bc of the pants.

Jay and Carlos’s outfits look nicely trashed and i love the leather. I only dislike jays outfits in D2 bc they look a little goofy.

The only wig that has ever pissed me off in this franchise is Chloe’s. The others were never distracting to me.

I loved how Evie and Mals hair wouldn’t stay the same color, which made it feel like a deliberate styling choice instead of just a marketing tool. And the boys always looked pretty natural which helped.

Their fashion always seemed odd in a good way, it improved when they got to auradon but on the isle they should look like theyre in poverty. So idk why ppl say its dated like this was ever supposed to look realistic.

It could look fantasy and poverty based while still not being distracting. It always felt like something the characters would really put on.

Weird how they purposefully make teen groups look odd now

Ppl talk about characters bc they’re styling and personality is charming not because they look like a crayon or just came out of a theater play.

They went from model, vampire looking groups to souless overly exaggerated characters. Why does the new cast of victorious look like background characters in never have i ever.

Good looks and clean styling age way better then loud maximalism does.

These friend groups were always very diverse so thats not apart of this

Idk why studios think ppl like uncanny personality types and styling, when has that ever been the case besides for shows marketed at toddlers.

They want to make their characters look quirky, relatable, dorkier and progressive by making them look a mess. Which is crazy in a society that hates ugly ppl more then criminals. It also takes from the effortless fantasy vibe teen shows rely on.

My very honest Camp Rock 3 review

I was hyped to see this movie after the first song was released. But after seeing the beginning my expectations dropped dramatically, I felt like sage was over acting and it didn’t feel really authentic, her brothers acting came off pretty flat to me, and the other kids personality’s felt generic and like they were trying to be something they weren’t.

The vibe eventually got better by not feeling like a parady anymore, the background, the jonas brothers, mitchies mom, the scenes where everyone was sitting down, and the disney sounds made it feel that way.

Sage is a good performer, the directing is probably what made her acting not convincing

I found malachi and the jonas brothers acting the most natural but it seemed like they only gave the older actors any room to breath and be themselves. Malachi was being himself but the scenes also cut so fast from him.

The lines were very rushed like ive never seen it this badly before in a movie, it felt like they were threatened with a timer and got 1 second maximum.
Not even a full second, mili seconds for a line that should be said a few seconds after tension builds up. It took no time at all to beg or be convinced of something.

I liked the main song, and some other songs but the autotune was way to obvious. The songs were cut to short and sometimes felt like their was no emotional buildup to it. I didn’t care that they covered past songs as long it sounded good. But i hated the dancing it was so stale majority of the time and looked weird, they weren’t putting all their effort and talent into it.

And my biggest problem with it is there was way to many cuts every second, and only for the young actors. It went from the camera naturally following the jonas brothers having fun, straight to having to cut to a different angle every second the kids were talking and almost all close up, which made it feel very artificial, it was jarring and funny to notice.

I enjoyed the parts when the camera would stay in one place and it felt like actually being at camp. The scenes would also switch rapidly making it feel like a tv show.

the intentional corniness didn’t bother me like i thought it would, I was just bored and didn’t care, it had no emotional effect on me at all

The main characters didn’t feel like friends fr, Malachi and Liamani shockingly felt authentic certain times but the others always felt like characters instead of real people to me.

( And i hate that ppl always try to downplay all criticism for “kid franchises” that were always marketed towards teenagers and tweens.)

Red not being raised on the isle makes no sense

So first we get told the fairy godmother put All villains on the isle using her wand, no matter if they were dead, alive or in other dimensions etc. Like hades or Ursula for example.

Then it already stated the queen of hearts was placed there in the books which makes sense, there was no reason to override this even the first movie said he placed all the villians in there. All not certain types of dimensions.

This coupled with Merlin Academy, a school where the villains who are already established teenagers somehow are at the same school as the good guys having dance battles with them in a group, (which is cannon to the original world not bc of time travel) proves that they dumbed the world building down insanely bc it was no longer convenient to them and will keep doing it bc ppl will keep watching because they associate the descendants name with something good.

It doesn’t even do that of good a job making the world feel larger, it only added wonderland which is crazy. I almost wish the ogs didn’t exist bc of how flanderized the world has become.

Zach did a lot that was bad

Summing up all he did as negging is an understatement

He punishes her by withholding his affection saying i won’t give u a kiss or make breakfast for u. Regardless if he did or didn’t after thats shitty to say. He thinks that’s a rational thing or reasonable reaction to having a disagreement.

He manipulates her, for example when Kayda said she would pull Caleb for chats he was like alr I’ll just pull Melanie for chats to make her jealous. Straight up clown behavior and she just laughs it off.

He mocks kayda after kc and titi start dating saying “convenient timing” while she was pissed off.
He repeadetly makes intentional jokes about the relationship. Just by his expressions alone it looked like he just tolerated her and the things he said only enforced that. it always gave off purely strategic.

He only asked her to be exclusive right after they almost got dumped. Which he admitted they were basically already.

He straight up lied about the Alannah situation, telling Kayda he chose to come back single and he didn’t pick her. Then when it came out her tried to rush her with calculated apologies to shut her up.

This whole season all hes been doing is commenting on other couples and trying to break bryce and trinity up while flirting with Bryce. When he realized that wasnt working he went for Kc and Aniyah.

Zach and Bryce have far beyond good chemistry, its to consistent. It turned a joke into something uncomfortably real for example

Twerking and humping on each other, Offering to wright letters to each other, Asking to go into the hideaway together, Bryce showing his genitals and asking him to compliment and compare it, Zach feeling proud about seeing Bryces meat before Trinity, Zach telling trinity to stay away from his man in a joking serious voice, Kayda looking at them weirdly afte bryce calls him his bf and zach immediately “jokes” along. I could go on and on.

The way he speaks about the girls in general is weird. When Gabe got dumped and Jen was speaking about how she was sad, Zach is whispering under his breath that she doesn’t care. That she’s faking it. He has a lot of passive aggressive tendencies, which this “I’m joking” thing is a prime example of. He says somewhat inflammatory things, waits for a reaction, and if it wasn’t what he expected, says it was a joke. And im shocked ppl fall for it.

Lmaoooo did they even try

This is supposed to be hades from decendants as a teenager in the new movie. They need to throw the franchise away atp. Nothing villainess about this kid

u/alteroo_ — 1 month ago

Kc is to easy to manipulate

Hes like a stupid reincarnation of taylor from last season. He can’t defend or stick up for himself if his life depended on it.

Each time hes like no don’t say that ok ill pick u, any insecure woman can manipulate him.

This post is so real it pisses me off

The only couple in the final four that wasn’t their from the beginning was aniya and carl which was a unusual situation.

The others were like you seen we stuck together for a long time so u have to vote for us. Kc and aniya would’ve probably been in the final to if they stayed together also. They dgaf about compatibility. its so irritating and ruins the show.

u/alteroo_ — 1 month ago

“Aniya was not as disrespectful or lustful like kc” I must be watching a different show

I don’t like Kc or his attitude. I always thought he was playing it safe and was insecure

But i hate how hypocritical love islands fan base is

—-

Like If Kc

Complimented a light skinned girl on her skin color, hair texture and eye color then said thats what everyone wants

Mocked the way Aniya sat down, with his friend and called her names

Refused to let her talk, while him and his friends were cussing at her

Creamed her in the face then called her a btc.

Interrupted her repeatedly saying fuck u while she tries to explain why she brought someone from casa back which both were allowed to do.

Sat down with his friends watching the girls work out while comparing their bodies and saying it was his show.

Calling Aniya a coward for not talking to him a day after his whole friend group cussed her out while interrupting her. While not even knowing about any comments she said before movie night. Because their feelings just don’t matter ig.

He would undoubtedly be crucified by the internet yet this is never even brought up wtf.

Aniyah has only apologized for standing up in his face which was definitely not the most disrespectful thing shes done.

The girls are allowed to just talk however they want to and about the guys but the guys have to be careful about every single word they say and even when they apologize they’re still villainized and are labeled all types of things.

Sincere is only respected in the villa because he keeps choosing their friend and is close with Aniyah

The girls say Dylan should just get over the Kenzie situation yet are still rooting for kc to get kicked off, and acting like hes just the worst monster in the villa even before movie night and after he apologized for everything he did.

Im glad the live action showed why Ozai does not need more screen time

Ozai wasn’t interesting because he had clever schemes every episode. He was interesting because the audience had to imagine someone capable of producing both Zuko and Azula, ruling an empire through fear, and planning to burn down an entire continent.

I feel like they completely butchered his character and made him bland, they turned him into just a secret mastermind we’ve seen plenty times and not a mysterious abusive dictator. His scenes feel so uneeded and it takes away from azulas character.

Like all we do is see him tell other characters to stuff and give corny speeches. The characterization is for azula and zuko nobody cares about their abusive murdererous dad unless its past events or to defeat him. Its such a horrible overcorrection that was never an issue

The original purposefully avoided making Ozai into a conventional mastermind in the shadows.

Sometimes not seeing a villain or monster early on makes them feel more dangerous. Not every important figure needs to be shoved in our faces 24/7 . We saw his influence

The war was never sold to us by body counts. It was sold through absence, empty villages, a genocided culture with one surviving kid, colonies where Fire Nation kids are being raised to not even know they’re occupiers, Zuko’s face, the way Katara’s mother is just gone and almost everyone looks past it because that’s what a decade of loss does to a person.

The violence is the aftermath, not the act. You’re not watching people die, you’re watching what a world looks like after a hundred years of people dying, which is a darker and more effective way to communicate the scale than a body hitting the ground. But thats a bigger issue with new adaptations.

The original trusted that you didn’t need to spend lots of time with Ozai to understand what kind of person he was. Which we didn’t. That seems to be a common theme in the new live action, to explain everything like the audience is dumb.

If the writers don’t trust silence and implication to do characterization, they will end up over explaining the wrong character at the expense of the ones who needed the space like the ppl affected by his ideology.

If Ozai’s getting scenes to spell out his menace, that’s runway not spent on Azula’s unraveling or on the people actually living under Fire Nation rule, which is where the emotional and political weight of his character was always supposed to land anyway.

Iconic how Azula and Katara never spoke to each other until the agni kai

Its insane that katara and Azula never spoke to each other until the last episode in their fight. They were complete strangers who just happened to fight twice and be perfect

Katara has never said a word to Azula though, even after Azula insulted and mocked her. Which makes it even more strange.

Melanie and Aniya should switch partners.

Sincere shows a lot of respect to Aniya. Their conversations are very open and natural, which makes u think thats why she likes him so much for Melanie.
He would be open and comfort Aniya. She always rides very hard for him. Aniya is always by his side and trying to understand his feelings. Shes always invested in why he does something so they might as well l just be in a couple. I have not seen her this genuinely invested in carl just relieved tbh.

I think carl would make melanie very happy and secure. Her humor and conversations would make both of them feel good.Melanie was always the dominant one in the sincere relationship and it just looked so off.

I think in a week with these couples they would look wayy better, but they’re to attached after weeks instead of trying to find the best connection.

Nate didn’t do a single unlikable thing this whole season.

Can’t believe we didn’t get a single unlikeable scene and he’s gone forever now. What happened to the whole plot line about him being dl, we got nothing out of him this season besides getting beat on.

u/alteroo_ — 2 months ago

Ollie has the most ranked godly plot armor i’ve ever seen (spoilers)

So first he and his partner go through this snake cave, the wolves stopped before entering and watched them figure out a plan. So Ollie uses the other girls nose to give him direction because she transformed into a pookaboo and hes still a bird but can’t fly so he carried her, she uses her pookaboo super smelling to tell him where the branches and snakes are, but midway she just stops giving direction and he sprints all over the snakes like what, he even looks back at the wolves while running

Thats not even near the craziest part once the wolves seen they made it to the end of the tunnel they started howling to wake the snakes up who supposedly had bad hearing and couldn’t hear anything before this. The wolves just hated them for some reason, all 5 chasing a bird and tiny pookaboo, not even sure if they were hungry fr but thats beside the point but still dumb.

When he finds out the fish is the fire wolf, after he transformed back into a pookaboo and his friend into a bird. The wolf bite his friend when she tried to change species then burned the pods, but then just leaves them there for no reason after telling them his whole life story and plan. The same people who were dismissing him the whole movie and were just using him to get pods. He could’ve atleast captured them.

Then after his friend got attacked, this little rodent somehow made a wooden stretcher and carried this bird 1000s of feat up a steep mountain with a tiny fragile rope holding them together day and night and she survived unharmed, perfectly fine the next day.

Then when the wolf is about to attack the animals he uses his main character powers to ask the magical web that first transformed him on accident for another magical pod, then they were like ok because he begged it and gives it to him, he then becomes an ancient elephant. At this point they just didn’t gaf. He could’ve been did that

All of this would be forgivable if they just let him die with the wolf like a savior. I even said this during the movie that they better not resurrect him. They made his friend and parents grieve him for 2 seconds then boom hes back as a pookaboo on an ancient elephant, because they have the ability to not only transform creatures but save lives even though he should be burnt and drowned.

Ik this is meant for kids but that is no excuse for this godly world record worthy level of plot armor, i’ve never seen anything this ridiculous. It was actually funny. Actions just had 0 consequences besides for the wolf. Like imagine mufasa just waking up from his coma.

Am i the only one who does this

I don’t have the patience to monitor these 4 kids. But in order to complete the lifetime wish and achievement i just need to raise 4 babies into teenagers.

So i adopted 4 babies and set the lifespan to brief so they age up in like a day or 2.

And the parent neglects the kids by staying on a different lot off screen which automatically makes their bars full.

While my babysitter despite being a teenager that needs to go to school, they’re stuck at my house taking care of my kids then leaves when i get back which will take awhile.

Even when im not doing this challenge I still make my babysitters take care of my babies and toddlers most of the time, especially if im wealthy or busy.

I hate how likable and Dumb they made Nate s3

He went from being the source of tension and terror to being in debt, getting tortured, getting mutilated, getting manipulated by cassie just to kill him off in the end. They wrote his whole character this season around Cassie and being tortured.

I almost forgot why i hated him so much and had to remind myself he abused maddy, beat a guy nearly to death then got him sent to prison, harassed girls and bullied people.

He used to be a unpredictable, insane, and menace at the same time was actually very intelligent and hard working, watching him was interesting. u loved to hate him and see what he does next but what he does next was never interesting this season.

The first thing that threw me off is why on earth would he marry cassie, and not only that let her manipulate him to buy 50k worth of floral arrangements knowing he owes ppl money. You’re telling me Nate a past football player and a rich business man had no other options and couldn’t leave cassie. Even when she embarrassed him at there wedding he didn’t get mad.

Nate would never let himself be dependent on anyone, especially not cassie. He’d manipulate her not the other way around. Its like the writers needed a plot device and didn’t care about nates character anymore.

Or they wanted us to feel sorry for him so they regressed his character which just made him pathetic.
He lost all his mystery and complexity this season and id rather him go out like the menace he was, or at least make it feel deserved which it didn’t.
