An account with a business I deal with was closed due to OnePay incompetence

There’s really nothing that can be done at this point, but I just wanted to share my story. I am very unhappy with OnePay right now.

For the purposes of this post, the business name is going to be replaced by just “name”.

About a week ago, I saw a charge come through on my account from a business shown as “app.com”

I had no idea what this was about, and when I went to that website, it had nothing to do with anything I’ve ever heard of.

So I contacted OnePay customer service via chat in the OnePay app, explained my situation, and then they started the dispute, and then recapped the information from the conversation with me. But in the recap, they showed the business name as “name-app.com”.

Upon seeing that I recognized who the business actually was, explained that to the agent and told them to cancel this dispute. I thought that’s what had had occurred, but apparently the dispute transaction was too far through to reverse at that point.

But they didn’t explain that to me. So at the end of the conversation, I thought everything was copacetic and we could all forget that I ever attempted to dispute the transaction.

Over the weekend, I received an email from the business informing me that my account had been banned because I had violated their terms of service.

At first I was totally bewildered by this because I could not imagine what I could’ve possibly done wrong.

I thought about it for a bit and then it occurred to me that what might have happened, which is in fact what did happen, was that they got they got a charge back from OnePay for the disputed charge.

I emailed the business back, explained the situation and got a canned reply saying they would follow up with me .

A few days after that, OnePay credited my account for the non-dispute dispute.

I I contacted OnePay through chat again, explained the situation, and basically the agent’s attitude was they did everything right.

If the business name had shown in the OnePay app the way it did in OnePay system, you wouldn’t be reading this now.

This is total incompetence on OnePay’s part. And I am furious.

The only thing good about this at this point is that I could actually use the money. So I guess that’s nice, but I would still prefer that this never happened. And that OnePay had given me the correct information in the OnePay app from the get-go.

[17 Pro — iOS 36.5.2]. I was messing around with accessibility settings and somehow managed to get this thing stuck on my screen. I don’t really know what it is and I want it to go away.

Try as I might I can’t figure out how to get rid of it or even what it does.

What am I doing wrong? How do I place a cursor in the middle of a sentence, word, or number in the iOS app?

For the life of me, I can’t get the cursor to place anywhere but at the beginning or the end of the line and even that is pretty difficult at times.

I fought a battle with Cash App and won

I had used my cash card to pay for a monthly subscription to a newspaper that was offering a promotional rate.

I fully intended to cancel before the promotional rate expired, but it slipped my mind. And suddenly I was billed for the regular price which is a dramatically higher. And not something I could afford.

I contacted the newspaper and asked that they cancel my subscription immediately and refund that money and they refused.

I’ve had some similar situations in the past with other publications and they more often than not have accommodated me.

But these folks refused. So I kept my card locked so their repeated attempts to charge me would not go through. Finally, after weeks of fighting with them, I just canceled the card altogether and asked for a new card.

I received the card several days later and a few days after that I started getting charged again by the same merchant that refuses to go away.

Cash App just passed the charges onto the new account.

So I called customer service told them everything I’ve mentioned here and the first thing that happened was they immediately canceled my card and told me sorry bud you violated our terms of service you no longer have a card.

Needless to say, I was furious and to make a long story short. After much back-and-forth in chats with customer service over a number of days suddenly my card was reactivated again.

So my cash card debit card is back in business and I’m a happy camper. I honestly never expected them to restore it.

I’m sure it was just some sort of freak of nature.

[iOS 27 DB1]. Unable to move apps between screens or add apps to any screen.

And based on the information added to the feedback report, I gave them I’m not alone.

If you are experiencing this, please let the developers know through the Feedback app as I have done.

Thanks

Has anybody else run into this? I've had other numbers used in the past for verification with different carriers and never had this problem.
