Doesn't taste bad but doesn't taste great either. What flavor is this supposed to be? It's a bit fruity and citrus-y. I would say that if there's any generic energy drink flavour, it's this one. Pretty inoffensive.

Can you get a horse's autograph?

I know this sounds silly but I heard that horse's can give footstamps as autographs. Is this possible to get from a horse after a race? If not, how long does the jockey usually stick around to sign things? Thanks in advance.

Would You Pardon the Hero's Crimes?

How moral is it to pardon the crimes of the story's hero?

My question comes from the Dark Knight quest series in Final Fantasy 14. The character is the player character, also called the Warrior of Light (WoL). Image is from the quest itself. Spoilers for the first arc of questline.

To summarize, the WoL finds a dying vigilante named Fray, who recovers and guides them into taking the path of the Dark Knight, basically edgy vigilantes in a highly religious society where the leadership constantly abuses their power.

In your vigilantism, you murder knights, beastmen, bandits, giants, etc. It should be noted that you definitely help others, but the WoL doesn't actually wants to do so most of the time, they take great pleasure in hurting those who they believe deserve it, for their own sense of justice.

In the climax, you end up being called by Lord Drillemont, your "friend in high places", basically. The knights have made various allegations against you, such as heresy and murder, which you did in fact do.

You show up and your mentor Fray seems to have killed all those knights that made allegations against you. Turns out that Fray was dead the whole time, and the WoL was under delirium, pretending that you had a mentor when you were just instructing yourself to kill those people.

You face your "darkside" for control of your soul and end up victorious, having it subdued and eventually integrated. Lord Drillemont ends up commanding all around not to say anything of the event and effectivelly uses his power as a noble to sweep everything under the rug.

While the WoL ended up helping many people and killing many of those who abused authority, they undeniabley comitted many crimes towards the nation, crimes that they enjoyed comitting and are only pardoned because they have a friend within nobility. It should be mentioned that the player was insane for all of this, so that should count for something.

With all this context, is this something you would do for the hero in this situation? If not, what are situations that you would pardon the hero's crimes?

Meiling With or Without Pants?

Asking this question purely from a character design perspective, not a sexual one. Do you prefer Meirin with or without pants?

She looks good either way, but I think her white pants design in Soku compliments the rest of her clothing very well, especially her sleeves and socks, while keeping green as the central colour of her outfit.

Even though I prefer her Soku design more, the no-pants design appears to be more accurate to how actual qipao are worn, and I think it works better with some of her other outfits such as in Foul Detective Satori. That is to say, the no-pants design works better as a fashion piece but the pants design works as a better representation of her character and occupation (a combatant).

Just my opinions, though. I would like to see what other people think in the comments. Don't be too freaky.

Wanted to discuss which theme represents the protagonist the most, and sounds the best as well. When I say "theme", I'm talking about every song that shares a name and similar sound, so "Spring Lane" includes both the versions from PoFV and HM, as an example. This is to make talking about the themes more efficient, rather than going over every single rendition in depth, although I did listen to all the renditions for this post. I won't be ranking them, but I'll be giving my opinion on them.

Mystic Oriental Love Consultation - Not a bad theme, but it feels generic for the main character of the series. It's at its best in SWR and Soku, you can feel some power in those renditions of this theme. I would say SWR has my favorite version of this song, but it's climactic when it's used in Soku.

Maiden's Cappricio - This is typically the song that people associate the most with Reimu, usually thinking of the version from IN, but the original from LLS is really good as well. It's more "abstract" in its composition than other Touhou songs, and that type of feeling needs to be present in a Reimu theme. The version from IaMP is really good, definitely made for dancing. I think it's overrated, but I still have to say the rendition from IN is pretty good, powerful, and abstract in its composition. The rendition from SFW might be my favorite, it does something different with the more techno opening but then transitions into a more Japanese-style orchestral song. Definitely the most "full" version of this theme.

Witching Dream - I would say that this theme is one of the more "emotional" themes from PC-98, and it has a more dark opening. In that sense, I would say it relates to Reimu well, not that she's a dark character, but she's burdened with a heavy legacy. Even then, it's not my favorite to listen to, but it has a good composition.

Dichromatic Lotus Butterfly - Undeniably one of the better Reimu themes. The original from Seihou sounds great and is deep with emotion, and the variant from ULiL is good for a fighting game, although I'm not really the biggest fan of it. It's fast and has a sense of urgency but I'd probably pick a different song if I was playing that game. The version from DiPP is an upgrade of the version from Seihou, I'd say, it just sounds fuller but keeps the same idea from the original version. The best version of this song is her theme from Hisoutensoku, the trumpets do so much for this song, it's crazy. It has an oddly goofy feel to it in the beginning, but the "chorus" section with the trumpet followed by the piano solo still captures that heavy emotional burden that Reimu's best themes all contain.

Spring Lane ~ Colourful Path - The version from HM is a good song, and some nice fighting game background music, but it isn't as memorable as the original. It feels generic, generically good, I should add, but definitely generic. The original from PoFV is easily a top tier Reimu theme, and Touhou song in general. The opening sequence is amazing, and the drums throughout the song keep a great pace and build up to other parts of the song excellently. All instruments work in unison, none feel out of place and everything compliments each other. I have no clue how ZUN created such a perfect song for the type of game that PoFV was.

The World is Made to be Cute - A song that's noticably lighter on the ears than other songs, which isn't a bad thing. It's not as "heavy" or "powerful", and that's fine, too, since it's enjoyable to listen to. ZUN said he made a song that "leans towards my image of Reimu", and also a song that sets the tone of the game, which makes sense, since it's also used as the theme of the early stages. Since the theme serves two purposes, it makes sense that it would be strictly less of a "Reimu" theme, but it still fits her, since it's undeniable that she's quite unserious a lot of the time. Still a bit generic.

Eternal Shrine Maiden - Technically not a Reimu theme, with it being a stage theme in HRtP and being remade for DiPP. Even then, I'm counting it, and I'll say that it's easily the best Reimu theme. I'm seriously astounded that a song so good was made in the very first Touhou game. Everything that I said about "holding the burden of legacy" and "emotional depth" is displayed in these themes, and they demonstrate a certain power not in the conventional sense, but in more of a spiritual sense, which is fitting for no one else besides Reimu. The version from HRtP holds a type of adventurous feeling, but also feeling somber at the same time. The version from DiPP is even more atmospheric, with the sounds of rain and thunder in the background and the opening takes the song from a stage theme into a full listening experience. Even then, I wouldn't consider one version better than the other, I enjoy listening to both of them equally as much. Although, due to how complete it is, I would say that the DiPP version is objectively better, and could even be one of the themes that represents the series as a whole.

Again, these are just my opinions. I'd like to hear other's opinions in the comments. Hope you enjoyed reading, thank you.

For those who drink the Japanese energy drink brand ZONe energy, is there any reliable site to get these outside of Japan? They're releasing a new flavour in a few weeks and I'd like to try it, but I'm obviously not located there. Do you typically find these in your local Asian grocery stores, or do you find them online? Thanks in advance.

From Lucky Star Vol. 1 pg. 28.

How does she stay up for over three days straight playing video games? I start falling asleep at my desk if I stay up an extra few hours on the game. I try to pull one all-nighter and my body starts spazzing out. How does she do that three times in a row? What game is that good that you can't pull yourself away from it for three days?

Am I getting old? Is it over for me?

I just finished Charming and would like to know the community's consensus of which designs are better. I'm a bigger fan of Drossel's original design; the twintails are the perfect hairstyle for her, but I think her model in Charming allows for so much more versatility in terms of robotic animations. That is to say, I find her original design more visually appealing and true to her character but her Charming design makes for a better poseable action figure.

I prefer Gedächtnis' design in Charming, since it feels more full than the original designs, which feels barebones it retrospect. Weird to say, but I feel like it fits his character more, I don't know how to explain it.

I know a popular one was posted here a while ago, but I can't find too many more good ones on Danbooru, preferably ones where they're interacting with each other. Asking for this specifically since they were both at Sha Tin Racecourse on Dec. 16, 2001, and both won their races on that date, Hong Kong Vase for Stego and Hong Kong Cup for Digitan. Sorry if this is too obscure of a request, and thank you.
