I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. Personally, I feel that if a luxury product is out of budget, it’s so much better to just buy a great, well-made item from an affordable, accessible brand rather than buying a fake, replica, or "super-dupe."

For me, carrying or wearing a counterfeit item would just feel wrong. I feel like I'd constantly be anxious that people would notice it's a copy and laugh at me or judge me for trying to project an image that isn't real. There are so many amazing, authentic brands at lower price points that have great quality, so I’d always prefer to stick to those and be proud of what I'm actually buying.

I’m genuinely curious about the psychology behind this: what goes through the minds of people who intentionally buy fake luxury items? Is it just about wanting the status of the logo, or is there more to it?

No hate to anyone, I just want to understand the different perspectives on this! Do you guys feel the same way, or do you view replicas differently?

For pani puri, kebab paratha, biryani, momos, vada pao, chaat, samosas etc.
