So I was like 9 when the cute lil kid videos were going viral but he was just some kid yk not The Bieber just yet

The first time I heard him outside of that was on the radio and didn't realize it was him. I was cleaning my room and listening to the lyrics of "One Time" absolutely LOVING it, duhhh

I wasn't used to kids on the radio, right? So I thought he was a girl singing about girls. My closeted Christian queer kid self, out loud, looked around and said "is that...allowed???" 💀

I thought he was a woman peaceful protesting or something. This was "I Kissed A Girl" and Lady Gaga era so I was like ok heck yeah, bust out that revolutionussy yk?

Got so excited for representation lmao

And then the radio host said it was Justin Bieber, the kid from the YouTube videos, and I was so embarrassed 🤣🤣🤣

After 2.0 was when I became a real fan, absolutely in love with his music - but that's a whole other story ofccc
