[OC] Are Schizos Back? Thoughts of an actual schizophrenic [14:39]
There is a theory that schizophrenics and psychopaths are in a secret, eternal war. The theory has no scientific evidence, but has propagated as a meme: initially, as a 4chan post from 2022, and afterwards, with the scandal around the Epstein files, it went viral on Instagram in 2026. The theory claims that psychopaths manipulate normal people (normies) to put down schizophrenics because while schizophrenics cannot really interact with normal people, they are really good at sussing out psychopaths.
I created a video essay, because I have schizophrenia, but in general, due to the debilitating nature of the condition, and also the still-existing stigma around it, schizophrenics' opinions are underrepresented even on topics that concern them.
I hope you like it, and let me know what you think about this tongue-in-cheek commentary.
To Live Forever: State of the Game now?
Hi, everyone. Some years ago (5?) I played No Man's Sky on the second to last difficulty and found out I would never die. The game seemed much simpler than what it is now, but I remember that at the time I regretted not trying to get the permadeath achievement. I am curious if I should jump back in the game now that there is so much more content, but I don't know what the quality of the content is or whether they have introduced silly insta-gib bugs that would make me break my computer if I go into a permadeath run.
I also wanted to ask: What strategy have you used for the permadeath achievement, and do you feel like it was worth investing the time and effort from your subjective point.
Finally, is the redemption arc of No Man's Sky that good, now that so much development has been put into it? I remember I was fascinated 5 years ago, as the game was brought into an amazing condition after the initial problematic launch, but I wanted to get the opinions of current active players.
How can I write people of sound mind?
I'm sorry, I don't mean to offend, but I am struggling capturing the specialness of someone who has no mental health issues.
I am schizophrenic, and my protagonist is well-liked, but nothing special. He has not experienced any dramatic hardship, but despite that he is generally and all-round dude. He cooks for his partner, calls his mom in the evenings, and visits his grandparents on the weekends. After getting a promotion for his hard efforts at work, he decided he can approach his wife regarding having a child.
My protagonist wonders if he deserves all this, and often tries to talk to God to ask for advice, however, he receives silence because the mc is of sound mind.
A friend told me to show his struggles by introducing a friend that comes back after they grew apart, or have me kill (as the author, of course), the mc's dog, so that he suffers through some trauma, however I am not sure healthy people experience trauma.
I am actually schizophrenic, and I am used to being strange and unwanted, different, and full of debilitating trauma that makes me absolutely broken. How would a normal person react to any hardship? Do they feel emotions the same way as me?
I apologize if this is a vague question. Maybe I should have shared first that I have been diagnosed a while back, and I don't know if normal people are people, or if I, the schizophrenic, am actually a person.
How would a normal person approach this? I don't mean to offend normal people.
I appreciate any and all feedback.
