Someone on here tried to *use* me (and it almost worked…)

I’m in a self-help group here on Reddit for a mental health disorder. I had several people which whom I talked to and the conversations were always respectful and good (men and women).
A week ago I got a message from a guy that’s in the same group. He immediately said the right things, held the room for me, supported me with words and shared his stories with the same condition, so it was overall a good talk. I was at a low point a week ago and I needed someone to talk to badly so I didn’t have my armor up and wasn’t cautious enough to see the red flags right away. Over the next days he would send a lot of supportive messages, telling me I can always text him when anything is going on or if I need someone to talk to. I did end up texting him and we talked for 3 days. He came across as a good, genuine sweetheart that just wanted to help ( HA HA HA). Well… on the 4th day he tried to get flirty. He did it very manipulative and subtle so I didn’t see it right away. Ultimately he asked for nudes and that’s when I understood what was happening. I was shocked, confused, angry and sad. Here I was, needing support and opening up and he is using it to exploit me. I didn’t send any and ended up blocking him but this experience made me realize I need to keep my armor up and be cautious ALL THE TIME, even when I need somebody to talk to because I’m struggling. It’s a hard truth that people try to exploit other people that already struggle a lot and I know not every man is like this, but the damage from the ones that are like this is absolutely heartbreaking. Have been crying because of this and I feel it’s my own fault for trusting and not seeing the red flags right away…

stay safe out there 🫶🏻

Btw food is „Spätzle“ (noodles) with chicken, mushroom-cream-sauce and veggies. It’s german and one of my favorites

EDIT: thank you each and everyone for your kind and supportive words, it means the world 🥺🤍

Am I damaged goods ??

I (F30) did a lot of things in regards of my sexuality when I was younger (17-21) to cope with my bpd and I fear I’m damaged goods and no one will ever love and chose me because of it. I feel like the moment men hear about my past they instantly put me in a category and see me as a whore, even if I haven’t participated in hooking up for over 10 years and have been to therapy. Has anybody had a similar experience ? And how did you deal with it ?

Spiraling. People are just mean af and I can’t take it anymore 😔

I posted something in another community on Reddit and got a lot of hate for it. It definitely triggered something in me and I’m currently spiraling heavily. Why do people attack others so much when their views and believes are different ? Why can’t we just all live the way we want and not get judged for it? I come more and more to the conclusion that I need to stay alone and away from people if I don’t constantly want to get hurt 😔😔

Need advice on my mother

my mother was diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder last year while she was in therapy. It was a special program that went on for 8 weeks and
since then she is constantly complaining about it. About how that’s not true, that they don’t really know her, don’t really see her and so on. She even went to extreme lengths and tried to sue them for giving her the wrong diagnosis.
I asked her what exactly made them give her the diagnosis and she told me it was her keeping to herself while still wanting access keep everything and everybody and the fact that she constantly plays the therapist in group therapy, so the point that she gives advice to others without them asking.
When she brings this up I can’t agree with her and give her feedback by telling her, that this is also how I see her and I’ve know her for 33 years not 8 weeks.
She is incredibly invasive and crosses boundaries non stop. She said she doesn’t see it like that and she feels it’s unfair, because all she ever wants to do is help.

She does want to help and when she sees somebody that’s in need, she will swoop in and help, not even asking if the person wants the help. Every time she comes to me I try to make her see that her behavior is not okay and that she can’t be mad when everybody else sees it and she doesn’t and every time the discussion ends in an argument which leaves me exhausted.

I have bpd (which I heard is often the case with mother-daughter dynamics in which the mother is a narc) and one thing I struggle with is black and white I don’t know if my thoughts on her being a narcissist are ‘real’ or if it’s just me splitting again… So am I at fault for the constant arguments ? Did I say something that’s not okay and she reacts because of me ? I’m really struggling with this and maybe I can get advice from someone…
Thank you in advance 🫶🏻

What is important to know about my chart? [astro-seek.com]

I only know a little about my chart so maybe there is something I cannot see what others see and think I should know :)

Are they bad people or is it me splitting?

Hello fellow BPD’s :)

I have trouble with figuring out if I’m just splitting on somebody or if that somebody really has bad behavior/is a bad person.
How can I spot the difference?
Any advice is appreciated 🫶🏻
