Stay at home mom/dads during the school year.

Our only started kinder today! We're lucky enough that I've not had to work. But now that he's in full day school I don't know what to do with all my extra time. So I'm just curious how other stay at home parents organize the day/week. Currently there's no plan to rejoin the workforce.

Edit: I plan to help at school when they ask for volunteers!

Road trip entertainment

We're getting ready to go on a cross country road trip. We have books, games, toys, etc, but we're looking for a tablet game or two we can have available. We only use the tablet for road trips and we limit it's use so we can enjoy the trip.

What apps or tablet games does your kiddo like?

Boy experiences?

So I know there's the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for the princess magic. But what is there for boys? We have an almost 6yo kiddo and going to Disneyland in a few weeks.

Sausage gravy help

We've been trying to make sausage gravy (like biscuits and gravy) but with ground turkey/chicken. And we just can't get the flavor or texture quite right. Anyone have tips, tricks, anything?

Edit - we're trying to make it friendly for family/friends who can't have pork.

Road tripping.

We're due to leave on the near the day my period starts. And we're driving on a two week long vacation. We will have limited access to laundry. Is it worth it to do my period underwear, or find an alternative (use disposables or pad) I dislike tampons and cups.

Permanently grouchy...

Are 5.5yo (boy, if it matters) always grouchy or frustrated? We're three weeks into summer break and this kid is on my last nerve by the time we get to making dinner. He's been sleeping well, eating normally, etc. Only major change is no super structured time since we're done with school until August. Maybe he's just in a phase...

Appropriate chores?

What household chores are your kiddos doing? We're trying to figure out how to build a better chore routine! He's 5.5yo, he'll be 6 and in Kindergarten starting this fall.

Hotel Recs!

We're doing the reverse route this summer (LA to Chicago!). We're looking for places to stop for the evening. Two adults, and a kiddo.

Can we make it work?

We're going to be in Los Angeles at the end of July/early August (2 adults, 5yo kiddo). Is it realistic for us to do one full day (probably have an afternoon rest at our hotel) at Disneyland and California Adventure. He's obsessed with Cars and Winnie the Pooh, so we'd have to do both lol.

Will take any advice you've got! Hotels, LL info, etc! (We'll have a car and be in LA for a few days to visit family)

Nail trimming

Our 3yo/80lb boy has suddenly (in the past few months) decided no one is allowed to trim or grind his nails. He's a normally happy pup with no other problems. We can play with his feet, but as soon as the clippers/dremel show up it's absolutely chaos. We've tried a couple different groomers and he just refuses (muzzled, one of us holding, etc).

Is there anything else we can do before jumping straight to meds/vet does it?

We currently are in a Cali King, but it's just not big enough for us. We're 2 adults who each use a body pillow, I'm on the more petite side, but the other half is 6'3". We're thinking about going big. Like alberta king (alaska king mini). We have plenty of space in our room so that's not a concern. Just looking more for where you ordered from and if you ended up liking it!

We are thinking about our next train trip...We can leave from Chicago or Milwaukee (or nearby cities) but we don't want to get a car at our destination. So ideally a very walkable destination for us. Would be me (mom), dad, and kiddo (5.5yo). Only want to stay a couple days, just enough to do something fun over the summer.

I hope this is the right place! We have a huge but chaotic walk-in closet. I'm a bin system girly. We are wanting to redo our closet and I'm in need of better bins. Please share with me your favorite bins! Prefer they're clear (or clear-ish). Multiple sizes are also great, size some categories are smaller/larger!
