I’m hooked!

On a trip from MD to MA my 2016 ford edge died (engine) so I’m now the owner of a 2023 GT. Drove it back to MD yesterday and I love it. Happy to finally own one.

So long, and thanks for all the Fords

After 10 years, my 2016 SEL has passed on to become a "mechanic's special". On a trip from Maryland to Massachusetts, the engine coolant overheating light came on. While I knew it was potentially burning coolant, I hadn't had this issue before. White knuckled it for half the trip and got it to a mechanic in MA. They found coolant in the cylinders, so it was burning a huge amount and overheating. Engine needs a rebuild, but I managed to trade it in before it seized. So my Edge journey is over. I'm now the proud owner of a 2023 Mustang Mach-E GT. It's an amazing car and if you're interested in it I'm happy to share experience so far. Best of luck Edge family!

2016 SEL burning coolant anyone else experience this?

My 2016 SEL with the 4cyl turbo engine had the check engine light come on, then it began leaking coolant (about 1 mo ago). I took it to mechanic yesterday who determined there's no leak, but it's mis-firing, and burning coolant. (white smoke and sweet smell also coming from exhaust as of last week). The car is almost 10 years old but has <60k miles on it. Mechanic said there's no real repair for this, but wants to replace the thermostat and another temp monitor connected to coolant. I've read that this can be caused by a blown head gasket, but I'm still confused as to the thought that it can't be repaired without a rebuild. Has anyone else had this issue or have thoughts? For now I'm just checking the coolant level every day and topping it off. Can't afford $1800 for a repair that doesn't actually resolve the situation.

Found on the side of the road

These were among a lot of Xmas items in a neighbor’s front yard (most plastic 80’s-90’s stuff). I was having a horrible day so finding these on my commute home was great. My 10-year old can’t believe that a box of ornaments was originally 99¢

What’re your thoughts on the secret summon spell

The colossal penguin is my new favorite summon. It can become an amazing tank and can rip through anything that isn’t a tank.

They’re also just such chonks it’s fun to just have them roam around.

Has anyone dealt with tire pressure sensors before?

My 2016 SEL started flashing tire pressure gauges a month or two ago. It was suggesting the batteries needed to be replaced, and then eventually the error suggested the sensors were bad. I finally got it to the dealer today (also to deal with a recall), and they said all four senors are bad and need to be replaced. They ran a check and none of the sensors show up, thus they want to replace them. My thoughts are that if the batteries are dead the senors won't show up, so the first step should be to try replacing the batteries.

Has anyone dealt with this before and is my logic correct?

Also, can any shop or tire place replace the sensors or does that have to go through the dealer? $895 to know my tire pressure is way more than I can afford.

replace Ortofon 2M blue or just upgrade to a bronze stylus

As the title suggests, I'm considering upgrading my cart since its about five years old. I'm under the impression that the 2m bronze is a huge difference over the blue but not sure if there are differences in the cartridges themselves. Would upgrading to a bronze stylus be as big a change as buying a new cartridge? I wouldn't be able to afford much more for a cart than what the bronze stylus would cost. I listen mostly to indie rock/punk/post-punk etc.

my setup:

Music-Hall Ikura w/Ortofon 2m Blue.

Pro-Ject Tube Box.

Fischer 500c.

Goodmans of England Twin-Axiom 12s
