Does anyone else get tired of Twitch self-promoters pretending to be nice at first?

It's already depressing enough knowing I only average 2 viewers per stream. I even put music and sleep during the day just to catch the time zone I want to stream on. This really broke my heart that I took a break after this and ended the stream. All I want is for my viewers to be entertained and to yap, even if they come in slowly.

I don't mind self-promoters because they can usually be ignored (and I'm an artist myself so I know the grind). But the fake networking and insincere compliments about my stream have become unbearable. They act like they're genuinely trying to build a connection, only to end up selling and then unfollow you when you become unresponsive to them.

Would somebody (or more) please give my gaming channel constructive feedback

I think I've finally calmed down in my latest video and finally satisfied my urge to experiment with metadata and video setups. I'm gonna stick with this setup for good.

Just an overview, my channel has:

☑️ No AI thumbnail, I pose for snaps (it's hella awkward all of the time) and edit it myself on Canva

☑️ Click-through titles

☑️ Decent display artwork and header (designed by me and a close friend)

☑️ Decent peripherals like microphone and camera (I got lucky because for years I mostly used it for work at first and now I use it also for content creation)

☑️ Commentary, I try my best to be energetic but not force myself to say or do things that are just totally not me.

❌️ English is not my native language but also maybe like 75%

I never told my family and friends about my channel.

I think the only person I've really told about it is my partner. I'm not sure if it's a good thing that I don't promote my YouTube channel to the people closest to me, but I like that making videos feels like a separate world I can step into whenever I want to feel productive and get away from my worries.

Sometimes I think deeply about how I can grow my channel, but it never feels as stressful as the other things in my life because I usually know what I need to do next. When I'm making videos, I don't feel insecure, and I don't really compare myself to others. Maybe a little? I know I can get discouraged by the numbers, so I try not to focus on them too much. Instead, I pay attention to what worked and what didn't.

I think one of the best feelings is finally finding a direction and realizing that all you have to do is keep showing up.

I'm very proud.

Just looking at my youtube channel right now - I started streaming 7 days a week on another platform and within that time I found my interest in making more content. Although eats up so much of my time (recording, editing, making/editing clips, and thumbnails), I feel accomplished.

Love letter from me, a startup streamer

Love letter from me, a startup streamer, to future me.

I'm going to begin by saying I hope you didn't quit. I'm going to be so annoyed with you if you threw everything away and gave up after all my consistent effort. I don't care if we're still at 0-1 viewer in a year, 3 years, or even 5 years. I don't care if you're still talking to yourself most of the time. Giving up is not an option, so get your ass back to uploading more clips until everyone recognizes you and gets sick of seeing you everywhere.

There's nothing wrong with how you look, either, so I hope you've grown more confident. You've worked hard to make all of this real, so if you're reading this, I love you, and it's gonna be okay. I know you're unstoppable when you put your mind to something.

Keep it real,

L

---

This is how I cope with a lot of stress lol and feel free to use it. A letter that reminds me that I'm allowed to grow slowly. I'm allowed to improve slowly. But I'm not allowed to quit. Not when we've already spent countless hours talking to empty chats, posting clips anyway, juggling a day job, and still showing up. Not when I finally realized that I'm worth betting on.

I'm a roguelike streamer in the PH

Hi, I'm a new streamer and my twitch is Lanocola.

Other than this, I just started playing Slay the spire 2! I mostly play roguelikes, horror games, life sims, and occasionally you might also see my dog in the background minding his own business, lol! My boyfriend also hops in (like our anniversary stream yesterday) and ofc, I get carried jk say hi!

SAME DIFF SAME DIFF

Hi all! my name is streamer name is Lanocola and I want to promote my channel here. I'd like to start growing my audience playing classic and new roguelike games, and eventually expand to almost playing anything. I stream in English and Tagalog.

No worries, I do not have any expectations but my current goal is to work on getting more viewers and maybe get to affiliate (but I just really focus on consistency - streaming 3-4 hours every night after my shift as a worker).

If there are also servers/communities I could join that would be fun!!

Love,

Lanocola
