PENDER Studios is live
PENDER Studios is a custom suite of software I designed to convert my Ender 3 V2 3D printer into a pen plotter.
The first release of software is available with the following tools
Harmonograph creator
Laser Wall
.Nc prep
Gcode editor
More tools will be available soon.
Plotted on an Ender 3 V2
I Converted my Ender 3 V2 3D printer into a plotter with a custom software suite PENDER Studios. Here’s one of the first generational pieces I sent through.
Experimental: long exposure plot.
Converted a 3d printer to a plotter, then the plotter to a laser plotter, custom gcode for x-y conversion to shoot the laser at the rear wall. ~2 min long exposure plot.
More info on the build @ https://studiowetware.com/pender-studios/
Long exposure: Skyline drawn by a 3D printer. Ender 3 converted to a plotter with a laser diode instead of a pen
Modded my 3D printer to plot a laser. The whole drawing is one uninterrupted machine move using a custom written gcode script, no light-off travel. One long exposure photo over 2 minutes.

Flagship Build-
“The Cyanotype Network” is a community platform where artists share their recent prints/developments, log the conditions that made them, and learn from each other's process.
The site features multiple free tools that creates an entry point for even the newest in the craft. From turning any image into a printable cyanotype negative to forecasting UV exposure times in real time. The Cyanotype Network is a one-stop combination of darkroom logbook meets social network with built in pre and post editing tools, built specifically for one of the oldest photographic techniques still in use.
Two more FREE tools for making cyanotype negatives
I see a lot of questions about how to go about making the actual negatives for cyanotypes so I decided to make a tool just for the newer and non technical developers.
Both new tools have been added to the existing tool lineup on The Cyanotype Network.
SoLaT Digital Negatives
Standard negative maker for cyanotypes. Turns any photo into a printable contact negative. No more need for other design apps like ps or gimp. It’s got the controls that actually matter for our process rather than a wall of sliders: exposure, contrast, gamma, a proper tone curve, and adaptive (CLAHE) contrast with clip-limit and tile-grid controls so you can pull detail out of flat areas without blowing the rest.
The adaptive-contrast approach came from discussions with u/SoLaT97 so very much credit due 👏🏼
CMYK Separation Bench
This one’s for anyone doing multi-layer or toned work. Much more of a use case for toned and Solarfast developers. Drop an image in and it splits it into CMY (3-dye) or CMYK (4) plates. Each channel exports as film (grayscale) or in its ink colour, as a negative or a positive, and you can grab plates individually or download the whole set at once.
Both are live on The Cyanotype Network. They’re free and they’ll always stay free!
If you try them, tell me what works or what’s missing. Feedback always helps!! Thanks everyone 💙
I Converted 1950’s Kodak film camera into a modern digital IR camera using a Pi Zero 2. The Pi-Cam-IR-A.
My micro build 3.58in × 2.72in × 1.61in. Kali Linux os 8gb ram 500gb NVMe
The Black Box Kali Linux. My micro pen tester. Pi 5 8GB with 500GB NVMe.
(For scale next to my mouse)
I wanted to build a micro desktop pc that was both functional for pen testing and portable without being a screened cyberdeck. I based The Black Box around the Raspberry Pi 5 and this was the resulting smallest form build.
Main parts:
• Raspberry Pi 5, 8GB
• Crucial P3 500GB NVMe
• Geekworm X1004 dual M.2 HAT
• Geekworm P579-V2 metal case
• Geekworm H505 active cooler
I’ve been building a free tutorial and community utility bundle to help newcomers and experienced artists alike break into cyanotype development.
The main hub https://Studiowetware.com includes:
-The “how it works” behind cyanotype development.
-A step-by-step walkthrough of the cyanotype process.
-A network of other cyanotype developers “The Cyanotype Network”, where users can exchange feedback on cyanotype development projects.
Free tools available on The Cyanotype Network:
-Create your own negatives from a digital image. (SoLaT)
-Forecast the UV index for ideal cyanotype development times worldwide. (Sunprint)
-Log cyanotype development times and notes in your own print gallery.
All levels from just learning what cyanotypes are, to experienced artists sharing the craft are welcome!
I made, “The Cyanotype Network” for cyanotype developers to share and get feedback on their prints.
It includes inputs for documentation of their prints, a gallery for saved prints to recall settings and Sunprint.
Sunprint UV index is a 7 day forecast showing when using the suns UV rays provides the best developing opportunity.

My Pi-Cam-IR-A is a infrared camera using a Pi zero 2, 1.44” touch LCD and IMX 219 NOIR sensor, housed in a modified 1950’s art deco themed Kodak Duoflex II body.
Studio Wetware - Develop Everything
Studio Wetware is:
A Cyanotype development walkthrough.
A social network for sharing cyanotype works and receiving feedback from other developers
An open source project hub
A studio gallery.
Any and all critiques are welcome! 💙
I built another tool for the r/cyanotype community. Sunprint is a 7 day UV Index (UVI) forecast, showing what days and what time to get the best UV exposure for at home developers.
Data is pulled from open-Mateo and it can be used worldwide.
