The pain I swallowed and thought was gone
Has been stuck in my throat for so long
I must be doing it wrong
Was watching this last night. Dude refers to SuperMega as “he” at one point, it’s clear he is NOT familiar with the Funny Brothers.
(27:15 is when he discusses the feud)
Hi y’all, 34/NB-ish F from the suburbs.
I haven’t been to Riot Fest since 2016 and I need to go this year.
I’m neurodivergent so crowds can be a bit overwhelming at times and I’m planning on going alone. It would be cool to find some people who are also going alone or really just anyone looking to see some of the bands I wanna see. I plan on getting a three day pass and staying in Avondale that weekend.
Some of the bands I want to see are:
Friday (These 3 bands are my all-time favorites)
- Alkaline Trio
- Motion City Soundtrack
- Bayside
Saturday
- Social Distortion
- PUP
- Less Than Jake
- Bad Religion
- Hot Rod Circuit
Sunday
- Mom Jeans (current favorite)
- Cartel
- Arm’s Length
- Saturdays at Your Place (another current favorite)
If any of this sounds like your vibe, feel free to DM me! I’m down to get to know people and meet up prior to the fest as well.
Hi all, not gonna lie, these past few weeks have been rough. I am really struggling with this sticky burnout/depression combo yet again. During this particular episode, I have regressed a lot and find myself self harming after being “clean” from it for decades. I don’t see the point in basic human functions like sleeping or eating and human relationships feel fleeting and unnecessary. Life just doesn’t feel sustainable anymore. I always end up here, no matter what I do to try and prevent it.
That being said, I’m on a 2 week, possibly longer, LOA from work to get acquainted with a new therapist who specializes in autism and adjust my meds.
Last year, I worked 5 jobs because I just couldn’t handle the stress of the job, the commute, or just leaving my bed because of the depression. My entire work history is chaotic and most jobs are short lived for one reason or another.
I’ve considered going on disability multiple times but always seem to talk myself out of it. I guess I still struggle to think of my AuDHD as a disability deep down. I like to think I can just suck it up and eventually I will learn to adapt. But that doesn’t seem to be working.
I guess I’m just curious about when others have decided it was time to go on disability and if they are happy with the decision. I’m also curious what someone does with their time on disability and if it’s even possible to survive off of it financially.
Hi all! I’m back again, this time looking for a tattoo studio near the Addison/Elmhurst area.
I’m looking to get two smaller pieces done- one would just be text and the other, a pretty simple, black & white piece. The last place I went was great but the artist has a 6 month waitlist. Ideally, I’d like to set something up a week or two in advance or walk in, if possible.
Thanks!
Hey all, I’m looking for a guitar teacher in the Northwest Suburbs. I’d prefer in person but I suppose Zoom could work with the right teacher. I’ve taken lessons in the past so I’m looking to warm up a bit and fast track to learning chords/specific songs.
Hi all! I work nights and feel very much like a ghost in society. After work, late at night/early in the morning, feels especially lonely. I’m looking for people to help fill that void a bit.
Reddit is full of people into anime and video games, and I am one of them but while I understand bonding over shared interests is great, I’m more after introspective chats, rants, dumping, etc. Who enjoys small talk anyway?
I’m a wannabe creative type, although I’m lacking inspiration at the moment. I’d love to hear what you do to create in your life and where you find inspiration.
Humor is very important to me, if we can laugh about stupid things, even better. I’m a perpetually sad creature, I need some light in my life.
If you think we might vibe, shoot me a DM!
