[Amazon] Fractal Design Meshify 3 Ambience Pro Black $240 ($70 off)

Pretty expensive case but it comes with three effectively best in class 140mm fans and a nice RGB setup and hub. It was also Gamer's Nexus top case of 2025 with the best noise-adjusted thermals.

If looking for a high end case, it's recommended. Kinda annoyed as I just got a North and 6x Momentum 12s to put in it for much more money. But the furniture look is better for my house anyway.

Black Fractal Design North, glass side with white CPU air cooler and white GPU?

I am building a new PC for my office. I've purchased a black Fractal North and 6x black Fractal Momentum 12 RGB fans to place in every slot. I don't plan to do wacky RGB colours, probably something muted or even turn it off. It's more to build as quiet and cool as possible. A "forever case" if you will.

I originally tried a Hyte X50 in white but it was just not good in our room at all (https://imgur.com/NyCVQbl). I should have known lol. I'd already purchased a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 digital in white because of this. I'm considering keeping it.

I'm curious what people think of the aesthetics of building in a black North with a white CPU cooler and GPU like a 9070XT. The glass section will not be visible to the rest of the house, it will appear as a solid black case with wood accents from a distance. It's only when you come around to sit at the desk that you will be able to see into the side, and the white components.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Is Ryzen 9600x / B850 motherboard / 16GB DDR5 for $650-$700 the midrange sweet spot?

Seems like you can get this kind of a bundle at several locations. I'm wondering what people think of this for a midrange gaming base. I know that you can get 32GB DDR5 with the $900 Canada Computers bundle that uses a 650 motherboard and 7600x3d, but not looking to spend that much and I'm not convinced the gaming gap with the 9600x is very large.

Thanks for any advice on this kind of a build!

Case choice: should I return Fractal Design Pop Air Mini and build with Lian Li O11D Mini V2 instead? Or something else?

I ordered a Fractal Pop Air Mini through Amazon that is arriving in a few days. I'm downgrading to something value oriented and looking for a more compact windowed case (I've built a bespoke small form factor PC last year https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/s/wf64SfoD9N but never one in a glass sided case and want to try it for something different).

I had limited myself to microATX with the Pop Mini, which I don't mind but makes it a bit harder to find component combo deals. I then came across this O11D which has two glass sides and can accept full ATX as well. I'm not sure about quality differences. I'm looking for a premium feeling case. The V100 didn't do it for me for example, because of the plastic lower parts.

Does anyone have experience with these cases who can help me? As you can see from my 5 litre 9800x3d deshrouded triple ducted build, I'm not afraid of a little complexity in building. But again I'm price oriented, the Pop Mini was on sale and included the three fans and the ARGB controller.

Thanks for your help everyone!

SAMSUNG 990 EVO PLUS NVME SSD 1TB $174.97 in combo with one other item like a PSU (Newegg)

Goes well with the $900 Canada Computers 7600x3d/32gb DDR/mobo combo. I believe you can also combo it with a case, or a liquid cooler. Or of course a CPU/mobo/RAM.

Click on combo up.

Can I do better than this Newegg combo for a budget/midrange build?

I'm looking at this combo on newegg for a gaming build I am making. I already purchased Fractal Design Pop Air Mini on sale for $110 on Amazon and Corsair RM850e for $144 on Amazon. Will get a Thermalright CPU cooler, and probably a used GPU for a while.

First time ever cooking ribs start to finish, on new Prestige 665

I've never attempted ribs solely on a BBQ slow cooked, and always opted for something with specific temp control. But with the Thermoworks signals air temp sensor I found the Napoleon kept a very consistent 275 with little effort until the sunlight hit it directly, and even then it went up to 300 and I could have adjusted it down. The ribs turned out perfect even with only 3.5 hours available to cook (wrapped at 160 and taken to around 208). I used indirect heat, only turning the edge burners on.

Originally I tried using the Napoleon expandable rib holder 56012, but you would need two of them to properly keep the racks upright. With just one of those devices, the ends flopped over and touched, and would have cooked curved. So I just put them bone down on the grill. I've now ordered the Napoleon Pro Stainless Steel Rib/Roast Rack 70009, which together with the expandable rib holder beside it will definitely be able to keep racks upright. And I'm excited to dump a big piece of beef on that roasting rack and do that as well.

The space of the 665 is a game changer, I was able to roast a big bowl of veggies on the Napoleon Grilling Wok 56027 while 4 large wrapped racks of ribs continued to cook, and had space for more, not to mention the side burner.

Waiting to get my griddle replaced with the one that shouldn't warp, and looking forward to trying all that.

Cheers folks

Bought a Prestige 665, Bought the SS Griddle Insert 56094 from Napoleon Canada, emailed them well before shipping saying I wanted the new cross-braced one that doesn't warp, they sent me the old design that warps

Feeling fairly frustrated.

If you weren't aware, the new 56094 version quietly released has a huge x welded on the bottom and apparently doesn't warp at all, solving the issues with the earlier one.

I'm not going to cook on this parallel braced one as I want to send it back.

What automower for my suburban yard?

I was looking at Navimow X430 and Dreame A3 Pro. But then wondering if I should just get two cheaper mowers, one for front and one for back? The slate path on my house is fairly rocky for 2WD I would think. With these photos what would you opt for? I thought if I ever moved to a bigger plot of land in the future, I would be happy with the bigger unit. And I would be willing to wait until next spring if a Navimow Lidar was going to be released.

Best place to price and sell one year old Midori 5L SFFPC?

I'm looking at selling this Midori 5L SFFPC, for which I previously posted this detailed build guide. I am no longer able to game with friends these days.

Do you all know the best place to sell these kinds of PCs, and what kind of discount off of current build value would be normal? Thanks for any and all advice.

Audi Q7 is a great tow vehicle for shorter trailers. Enjoy, tow police!

The only thing that annoys me is how tongue weight heavy the Geo Pro 20BHS is for the size (makes me think about getting a Micro Minnie with tandem axle). With no water it is 650lbs loaded, and can crest 700 with water etc. Very high for a 4500 GVWR trailer.

Tow setup

2018 Q7 3.0 with auto-levelling air suspension and 4 wheel steering. Tow rating 7,700lbs, tongue weight 770lbs.

2023 Geo Pro 20BHS

Weigh-Safe Tongue weight Scale Hitch with Timbergrove bolt on dual sway control mounts

Tuson TSC-1000 electronic sway control for good measure

Just did 1000 kms through the rockies without the Tuson sway control activation light coming on once. Supercharged engine has plenty of low end power, hanging out around 2,500 RPM.

Payload is the biggest concern for loading family, but I like to tow without my distracting kids anyway. This is mostly the fault of the Geo Pro's tongue weight relative to its size as a trailer. Q7 payload is 1,364lbs. Curb weight 5,200lbs. 118 inch wheelbase (the other factor that limits to shorter trailers, though people tow 30ft airstreams without issues, I don't recommend it). Performance brembo brakes are sized similar to half ton but stop the Q7 29 feet shorter from 70mph than an F-150 (per Car and Driver testing). This and the permanent Torsen 4WD, and low centre of gravity, make the rig feel extremely planted.

30,000 miles on my 2018 Q7, re-did PPF

30,000 miles on my 2018 Q7 that I purchased three years back. Redid the original PPF going from partial front to full front end, time to keep this car forever.

Fashion to feel better about myself as a stay at home dad

I've been a stay at home dad to two young boys for about a year and it's going to continue for a while. Previously I was a lawyer and academic. It's been a rough adjustment and I had also been working from home for a long time prior to quitting. I want to present better in public but I always find myself falling back into limitations of my "requirements": I've been wearing cheap H&M t-shirts with rather ugly full zip hoodies basically every day for years because they are ones I've found that have zip pockets so my phone, multitool, keys and wallet don't fall out as I constantly bend down to change diapers on my giant 38lb 2 year old, lift him, wrangle my 5 year old, etc. For similar reasons, I have been wearing Lululemon warpstreme joggers pretty much every day, because the material is flexible and light for movement and stops me from sweating. So I look kind of slobby.

I really don't know where to start to look and feel better about my clothing. Is there functional and stylish clothing that has good pocket security? Should I move to a small sling full time to carry my essentials in order to open up more choices? It seems slightly more inconvenient though. I've started buying a couple nice Patagonia jackets etc on clearance, and I have nice blundstones I like for winter. So I have some decent outdoor stuff. But no cohesive sense of style especially for shirts, pants and sweaters.

I live in Northern Canada so I need clothes for all seasons. Where would you recommend I start for a person like me?
