Just picked up a 7x16, absolutely stoked to build this thing out. So much more room for activities compared to my old 6x10!

The crazy bastards did it! And cordless!

I’m a contractor specializing in carpentry. Most of my work is done in 1970’s or newer homes here in central Oregon. So, I was STOKED when a past client called me up about this 1920 farm house. It’s been a blast to start working through…mostly because aside from a couple remodels to install power, and then add some hideous trailer park paneling, it’s been mostly untouched!

My homeowner wants to keep the character as much as possible, and try to give this thing a much needed facelift while maintaining the style and character. I know, she’s a gem and a true pleasure to work with.

Anyway, today was the floor lottery day! The front of this room looks like it was converted from an old porch, to enlarge the living space. This explains some nominal framing I’ve uncovered compared to the dimensional rough sawn I’ve demoed everywhere else.

I think I can remove the sheathing from the previous remodel, and sister new joists to the old in order to level the floor. Then, maybe some creative border work, and source some more oak flooring to make it relatively cohesive. Any advice for how to proceed is welcome!

I love this shit!

Maryland has been annexed by The Vermonster willingly, the 2 states have now merged into one. CRABBALACHIA. 4 States Now remain. Pick wisely, there’s no going back now!

Nuevo New Mexico is now Muerta en el suelo as it was attacked from all angles in a Bloody battle. All empires fall eventually, the Roman Empire, the Ottoman Empire and now, the Nuevo New Mexico Empire. Rest in peace.

5 lucky states remain, Hawaii now holds a strong portion of the mainland, Megasota and Cascadia hold Large areas while The Vermonster isn’t really much of a monster yet.

I just want to say a humongous thank you to everybody who views, shares and engages with the posts. The last one got over 4 MILLION views and 16K upvotes. That shows how crazy big we are getting. I don’t see how the finale can’t get up to 10 Million. Maybe that’s a bit ambitious but if things carry on this way, never say never. As usual keep being amazing, and this is TRULY the endgame now.
