In-Person Dating Events

Hi everyone. I (25F) would like to prioritize meeting people in person rather than on dating apps. I wanted to crowdsource to find events other than typical speed dating and happy hours. Also, I’m looking for suggestions other than going to bars and clubs since neither is my scene. I’m interested in both men and women in their mid to late 20s through early 30s. Thanks in advance for suggestions!

SSA “Mental Status Exam”

I (25F) have an upcoming appointment for a “mental status exam” with a provider scheduled by SSA. For those who’ve already been through this type of appointment, I have the following questions:

  1. What did you do to prepare?

  2. What do you wish you had known beforehand?

  3. How long was your session?

  4. Is there any other advice you can recommend?

Please feel free to send me a DM with your answers if preferred to commenting.

Seeking Advice About Lack of Accessibility at Concert Venue

Hi, I (25F) am looking for personal experiences, as opposed to legal and/or medical advice, with venues denying accommodations for an indoor concert in Maryland. For context, I have chronic joint pain from hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and cannot stand for long periods of time. When purchasing tickets during the artist presale over a month ago, there was no accessible seating available. As a result, it was necessary to purchase general admission and contact the venue afterwards, which I did immediately. The ticket distributor’s website states accessible seating is available through the concert venue. When making this request, I did indicate that I utilize a rollator for walking and standing for extended periods of time.

To summarize, the venue has denied making this accommodation, regardless of involving the ADA coordinator of the county where the venue is located. Allegedly, the employee at the venue whom we had contacted, claimed her supervisor in ticket sales said there were no accessible seats available. I don’t know how true this is since I didn’t see accessible seats as an option when I checked during the general sale. In response, the ADA coordinator mentioned above suggested several alternative options to accommodate me but never received a reply from the venue.

As a result, she recommended I submit a report to the state and is getting the county executive involved. While I am doing that, I am growing increasingly concerned since the concert is on June 6th. I’m looking for personal experiences about what others have done in this situation that I haven't considered yet.

EDIT 1: It’s important to note that I told the venue that I utilize a rollator when it is necessary to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.

EDIT 2: Allegedly, the employee at the venue whom we had been in contact with, claimed her supervisor in ticket sales said there were no accessible seats available. I don’t know how true this is since I didn’t see accessible seats as an option when I checked during the general sale. In response, the ADA coordinator mentioned above suggested several alternative options to accommodate me but never received a reply from the venue.

EDIT 3: This is an indoor venue.

EDIT 4: When purchasing tickets during the artist presale over a month ago, there was no accessible seating available. As a result, it was necessary to purchase general admission.
