Spearfishing on Koh Kood?

Anyone know what the deal is— is it legal or not? And I’m not interested in your opinion, I’m looking for genuine facts from folks who know. I’ve been to Koh kood many times and have always spearfished off the coasts, swimming out or taking a kayak a ways out and away from any other folks, spearfishing some smaller, non unique reef fish, and then returning to shore to cook them up at my place.
Recently someone told me this is illegal for foreigners and I’ll get in big trouble if caught.

I have a trip planned to Thailand for a month later this winter, I was planning on bringing my speargun but am not sure if it will be worth the bother now.

65cm, single band, basic speargun, nothing fancy or special or intense.

Question re: how I would “call” this riff

Let me preface this by saying I am a self taught beginner, I don’t believe I’ve “created” anything, just that I came to it independently.

So the other day I heard a guy on the street playing an incredible cover of St Louis Blues with a resonator guitar. I tried recreating a small part of it by ear, and landed on this little riff— which is honestly only somewhat similar to what he played and not nearly as beautiful, quick paced, or unique. But I’ve been enjoying playing around with it so have been practicing it. Someone walked by and asked me what I was playing. I said that it was just a random sort of riff I made up based on a cover I heard of St Louis Blues.

Then it got me wondering, I’m assuming what I’m playing has been played before, either exactly or very similarly, so would it be proper to say it’s a riff I made up? Or am I just playing something well known but calling it my own 😂

I guess I just don’t want to be sounding like a tool, saying I “made” something that I didn’t make 😂
Any thoughts would be appreciated— advice on changes you would make to it would also be super welcome!

What’s the downside to not learning to play with a pick?

I’ve been playing for about a year and a half now and enjoy it greatly. I play essentially entirely with my thumb and first two fingers on my strumming hand. I just really disliked the feel of a pick early on and have always enjoyed fingerpicking style more in general. Now I’m wondering if I’m fucking up long term/ if I’ll be limiting myself long term by not forcing myself to practice playing with a pick more regularly. Thoughts? Any major downsides to only strumming with your fingers?

Looking for a foldable/camping chair that’s comfortable for playing guitar.

Essentially as the title suggests. I spend a lot of time playing my guitar by rivers/lakes/outdoors. I’m always sitting forward on the edge of my foldable chair or on a stump, because the armrests block me from playing guitar well.

I’ve been looking for a new foldable chair that is comfortable, well built, and without armrests so I can play guitar (ideally still with a pocket on the side for putting my phone, water bottle, keys, etc). I’ve been looking on Amazon but am not finding any chairs that seem to check all these boxes. Anyone got a recommendation?
