How many of you have dual-citizenship?
I am of mixed heritage. My Dad's English and my Mum is Nigerian. So I have been a dual-national since birth. Even though I was born in England because my mum is Nigerian, so I was automatically a Nigerian citizen from birth. I have both a British and Nigerian passport. Because I have lived and even been schooled in both countries for portions of my life, this does encapsulate my hyphenated nationality.
So I'm wandering if any of you have dual citizenship and from which countries.
I remember seeing a statistic that estimated that just under two thirds of black Britons either have dual citizenship or are eligible for it. Not sure if that is accurate exactly. But I think this is something that defines the 'Black British experience as opposed to the black American experience. Because most of us come from immigrant backgrounds that means many of us are likely to be born with dual nationality/citizenship or at least be eligible even if the passport isn't taken up.
