Fair Use for AI Training:
In a policy paper titled A Pragmatic Approach to AI Governance in America (included at bottom of post), Google argues that using publicly available web data to train AI models is a transformative use that should be protected under "fair use" laws, comparing it to an art student finding inspiration in a gallery.
Focus on Outputs, Not Inputs:
Google maintains that copyright infringement should be policed based on the final outputs (whether a specific AI-generated image or text actually copies an existing work) rather than the inputs (how the model was trained). It suggests using standard notice-and-takedown systems rather than automated filters to handle infractions.
Creator Control and Licensing:
The company recommends giving website owners control over whether their data is used for training via tools like the "Google-Extended" tag. Google also notes it is exploring licensing partnerships with rights holders and supports the NO FAKES ACT to protect individual voices and digital likenesses.
New Regulatory Body:
Google proposes the creation of an independent, industry-funded "Frontier AI Regulatory Organization" (FARO) to set safety standards and oversee audits specifically for advanced AI models.
Industry Conflict:
This stance comes amid major legal pushback from the music industry. The RIAA and various music publishers are actively suing AI platforms like Anthropic, Suno, and Udio for copyright infringement over training data. Google itself is also facing a lawsuit from independent artists who claim its Lyria 3 music tool was trained on YouTube content without permission.

Hey everyone. As a lifelong fan, there've been discussions that I've seen in r/NYKnicks and r/knicks questioning why Carmelo Anthony is usually considered a Top Knick all time. From what I've seen, a lot of people hold Melo in their Top 5 All-Time Knicks, and, with Melo having been my favorite player growing up (that's my dude), along with everything that just happened for our Knicks this season (to put it lightly), I was kind of torn.
Like, skill wise, yes, he's Top 5 All-Time, imo... But, once impact on the success of the team came into play (and, believe me, I'm aware there were only really 3 decent seasons, and Melo had an ego, yeah, I'm not discounting this...), I couldn't find it in me to confidently put Melo in my Top 5. Then, after having brought it up with a few buddies of mind (outside of Reddit) later on, I was able to find what I believe to be the best comparison/same-sport analogy I could think of, and this pretty much is was let to the end of the discussion. The comparison I came up with is:
> “Saying ‘Melo is a Top 5 Knick of All-Time’ is basically the same as saying ‘the Lakers should build LeBron a statue'."
With the successful history of the Lakers (definitely top 3 in the history of the NBA), I simply can't image the '20 ring getting LeBron there... Jersey Retired? I mean, maybe, I guess... I could see it. However (and I don't like saying this), I had to take it a step further to the whole "statue" bs I've heard before online (no offense to anyone here), as that felt more accurate towards the way I feel Melo fits (or, more accurately, "should fit") into Knicks history.
I could have gone into the stats, but I didn't think there was a need... although, I would enjoy seeing some of those being argued in the comments tbh lmao.
So, yeah... What do y'all think?:
> Is someone saying “the Lakers should build a statue [of/for] LeBron” about the same level of right/wrong as someone saying that “Melo is a Top 5 Knick of All-Time”, in your mind?
Suno has officially launched Spark, a new incubator program providing independent creators with funding, marketing, and industry networking. Alongside this, Suno's CEO clarified the company’s future direction amid major financial and legal developments.
Applications are now open for independent artists to get direct backing from Suno.
CEO Mikey Shulman explicitly shut down rumors that Suno wants to become a record label, stating that labels are "way too culturally important" to disappear. Instead, Suno's ultimate goal is to build a "music superapp" that delivers the absolute best tools for music creation and a highly engaging, next-generation consumption experience. > How Suno Envisions the Workflow: At a recent Los Angeles songwriting camp featuring A-list producers like Timbaland, Om’Mas Keith, and Gino the Ghost, professionals used Suno purely for quick song ideation. Human musicians then took those AI-generated concepts and recreated them piece-by-piece in the studio, adding their own live improvisations and flair. >
This was my first recommended video after opening the app... from 9 years ago...
The Video's Top Comment:
> “The knicks really had Brandon Jennings Joakim Noah derrick Rose Carmelo Anthony on the court at the same time just five years too late”
The only potential argument is the quality of opponents... Yet, you can only play who is in front of you

Even now, when I truly love myself, and know I'm deserving of love, it's still Strongly Agree 🤷🏼
With that said:
I'm not one for constant speculation, especially on topics that are discussed into oblivion... However, I really like this as a concept.
Donte DiVincenzo's Contract & Injury:
Salary Cap & Apron Info (2026–27):
Knicks Payroll:
Currently have over $210 million committed in active roster salaries to 11 players (led by Karl-Anthony Towns at $57M, OG Anunoby at $42.5M, Jalen Brunson at $37.7M, and Mikal Bridges at $33.4M).
Rookie Contracts for Specific Picks:
Current Knicks (Lower) Salaries (Needed to Match Remainder of Donte's Contract):
To get Donte like this, the Knicks would most likely have to:
a) Actually use the draft picks (draft players) to be able to trade them with salary matching (≈$4.8 million to $5.3 million), AND, b) Make up ≈ $7 million to salary match via the inclusion of Deuce, Dadiet, Kolel, Diawara, etc.
Just some speculation... Seems a bit crazy to trade for Donte at such a premium when he may not even be able to play for the entire season, and will presumably be cheap next summer... BUT...
What y'all thinking?
What a time to be alive! 🟠🟦🗽🏆
